Avoid this location--terrible staff and contaminated food.This place has unprofessional management and serious food safety issues. Our breakfast order was shorted this morning when they forgot the bacon on our breakfast biscuit. When I stopped back by after getting gas to ask for the missing food, the drive-thru clerk and the manager argued with me, making ridiculous excuses instead of just fixing the mistake.It gets worse: that biscuit made my daughter extremely sick to her stomach. Went here at kind of an off hour (1pm Sunday) so not sure if that has anything to do with it. I got a sausage egg and cheese biscuit & husband got the spicy chicken. They were OK... very dry, burnt biscuit, but edible. The sandwiches maybe get 2.5/3 stars. The real winner here was their fries and hash browns! Both 5/5! Picked up a breakfast sandwich recently at Biscuit King. They have an extensive menu, with breakfast and lunch, though I've only ever stopped in for breakfast. Like a lot of their competitors you order at the counter and wait for them to call your name/number. They have a large ear in dining room, but obviously to go is also an option, with a drive through window. Their pricing is very reasonable. Portions are large and filling, though I found the sausage egg and cheese biscuit to be a little bland, the sausage seemed to lack a little flavor. But overall it was a good meal. I went to Biscuit King the other morning and ordered biscuits and gravy, and I was not disappointed. The only weird thing was that I had never had to assemble my own biscuits and gravy before. They put the gravy in two little Styrofoam containers and then the biscuits in another. This was odd, but other than that, this place was great for a cheap breakfast. I got what you see pictured and a small soda for $6.83- not too shabby. I will be coming back for this great breakfast. Funny that it's their biscuits that I liked the least! LOL! * Western Omelette was my favorite item -better than any biscuit. A great deal for a fast food chain. * Spicy Chicken Biscuit was good. Different. Instead of spicy seasoning/batter, it was drenched in a hot-wing style sauce. (White collar workers beware!) * Smoke Sausage Biscuit was recommended by the workers (yes, I conducted a quick poll with them) but I personally found it to be a bit dry. * Bacon & Hash brown triangles also good. * People there are wonderful. While waiting for my order, they were pleasant to talk to. I was there early & at a time with no other customers. * Cleanliness could use a little more attention. Large dining area, big hearty breakfast sandwiches! Tons of options on their breakfast menu, but I still like the bacon, egg, and cheese best. It is a nice healthy portion and the biscuit is so fresh and tasty. Good value for the money. Service was quick and friendly, always quicker to run in than sit in the drive thru. Today my spouse and I happened to be on this side of the Triad and we decided to try breakfast at Biscuit King. I'd heard really good things from a friend who described the staff as warm and friendly. He also loves their biscuits. Entering the dining area, we ordered with the assistance of Annie at the cash register. She explained our side options and helped us choose our breakfast combos, which we really appreciated. My bacon biscuit and grits were decent enough. I added butter and salt to the grits to improve the taste. The bacon was good and crispy, which was nice. They also don't skimp on the bacon, unlike other restaurants. The biscuit wasn't the best I've ever had, which is a shame, because this restaurant is named for this very item. Within the well established royal biscuit bloodlines of the Piedmont Triad Kingdom, it is very difficult to come in and shake up the aristocracy unless you really bring a very strong army of offerings and can siege the walls by force. On this front, the "Biscuit King" is merely a pawn in the game, not even strong enough to recognize as a pretender to the throne currently held firmly by The Biscuit Factory. Heck, it is not even the strongest challenger in the small feifdom of "places that serve biscuits between Wendover and I-40 along NC-68." All silliness aside... the competition for biscuits here is tough, and Biscuit King just simply isn't making a product that will make many waves. Nonetheless, I decided to go try it myself this morning at about 7:15am before heading to work. I arrived to find I was the only non-employee in the restaurant, with only a couple of people in the drive-thru... which is not a good sign at peak breakfast hours. That said, I was greeted very warmly when I walked in. The restaurant was clean and inviting, and the gentleman taking my order couldn't have been more personable. I ordered a country ham, egg, and cheese biscuit... and then went a little on the wild side with an order of onion rings, which I had never had with a breakfast before, but was intrigued by the fact they were available all day and the same price as potatoes. I waited just a couple of minutes after filling my drink cup, and my biscuit order was ready. I took a seat in the back where I could watch the local news on TV. Unwrapping my biscuit, the first thing I noticed was the lack of a golden color on top. Sure enough, the biscuit was a bit doughy and undercooked for my tastes. This seems consistent with other reviews, but is better than being dry I suppose. Still, its not as inviting or tasty as a biscuit with a golden flaky top. It also fell apart pretty easily as I was eating it. The texture both holding it and in my mouth wasn't right. It didn't look very fresh, though it was warm. Inside the biscuit, I was happy with the amount of egg, cheese, and ham, all of which were cooked properly and melted together nicely. The onion rings were a surprisingly good compliment to a biscuit, though they are definitely the frozen kind. Not surprising, but also not something that makes you want them. Overall... it doesn't crack the top 10 in the area. It's better than most of the fast food options (not all), but not as good as any of the BBQ restaurants breakfast offering, and no where near the crown held by Biscuit Factory. read more

On my recent visit to NC to visit family, everyone I asked for breakfast recommendations said you have to go to Biscuit King. I am so glad I did. The biscuits are huge and have a phenomenal flavor. They are somehow fluffy and dense at the same time. The biscuit wasn't the only delicious thing on the menu. The chicken sandwich and breakfast platters made a delicious breakfast. In addition to the great food, the staff was nice and helpful. I will absolutely be back when I come to visit again. read more

This place used to be pretty great when the first opened but the wheels have really come off. They've started charging customers extra for the privilege of using a card. Which is ridiculous, look at this scrap of a cinnamon roll. Should have just bought a Little Debbie from a gas station and saved 2 bucks. Really disappointed. I would like to congratulate Johnson's Restaurant in China Grove (not to be confused with the excellent Johnson's Family Grill in Madison) for no longer having the distinction of serving the worst cup of coffee Karl ever had. That distinction now belongs to Biscuit King in High Point. They also served me what is possibly the worst breakfast I've ever had. This is one of the rare cases that I did not look at the reviews ahead of time. This was a mistake. Please, dear reader, let me save you from making the mistake I made today. Biscuit King has a 2.5 star rating for a reason. Coffee: this was the worst cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. This includes the vending machine coffee that I bought at the Miami-Dade community college in 1987. It was so weak I am sure that this was the third use of the coffee grounds in this filter. I could see the bottom of the white styrofoam cup that the coffee was poured in. It had no taste whatsoever. It was actually disgusting. Eggs: I ordered them scrambled, and their flavor was OK, but they were tough. Grits: The texture of the grits was good, but the taste was too corny. Despite the fact that they are made out of corn, grits can actually taste too corny. These did. Country ham: this was more like country ham jerky--it was that dry. And didn't have a good flavor. Just poor quality. Spicy chicken biscuit: what they do here is bread a piece of chicken breast, fry it, and then dunk it in hot sauce. Then they serve it in wax paper so you can put it on the biscuit yourself. I'm not entirely sure why this step is added to the mix. But the hot sauce makes the breading gummy. Otherwise, the taste is good. But then again I love hot sauce. Biscuits: The biscuits have a soft interior with a mild taste, which was OK, but the exterior is brushed in fake butter that will leave a film in your mouth that is distasteful and annoying. While a couple of the staff members were very nice and welcoming, Biscuit King has problems that extend beyond the food. When I walked in, one of the workers was on her break, sitting in a chair slouched down while in full uniform, and just gave me a glare. One of the first things you learn in the restaurant industry is that you never sit in the restaurant in uniform. And you certainly never glare at customers. Sadly, Biscuit King serves a poor breakfast. There are too many places of this sort that are superior. Go to one. read more

This is a very nice restaurant- They prepare your food basically to order, so your food is hot and fresh. I went in the other day and ordered a grilled chicken biscuit. The last time I visited I was disappointed with the quality of some not all of the food. I decided to try it again for breakfast and this time was very pleased. I ordered my food and it was delivered BEFORE I mentioned the owners response so it had no bearing on the presentation. The egg and cheese was piping hot and fresh along with the seasoned potatoes. The line didn't take forever even with more people in line compared to the last visit so believe more attention has been paid to quality and efficiency. This makes for a successful business. The order of pancakes was pretty big .The biscuits were nice and fluffy but i will say presentation is definitely lacking but i guess you get what you pay for. I felt like everything was thrown on the plate. Prices are fairly reasonable!! Staff was a little all over the place as far as getting the orders out. There's a new biscuit in town...Biscuit King just opened this new location, they have others in Lexington, I have been to one of those in the past and it was pretty good so I had to stop by and check out this new one since it's near my office. They obviously do biscuits and breakfast items, but they also offer burgers and other sandwiches, the whole menu is served all day...burgers for breakfast if you like...here you order at the counter, take a seat and they'll call your name whenn it's ready. My visit was good, they offer a tenderloin biscuit and a porkchop biscuit, the difference is the porkchop is a breaded and fried product and the tendrrloin is not breaded. I had to try the porkchop biscuit to see how it matched up to their next door neighbor Country BBQ. The homemade biscuit was large and awesome, the fried porkchop seemed to be one of those frozen breaded type products, not hand breaded and fried like CBBQ. I did try the bacon and their bacon was very nice and crispy. The new building is very nice, they also have a drive-thru. I'll definitely be back for more biscuits. read more

I got my food fresh hot and fast. The staff was so friendly and they helped me so patiently, as it was my first time there. The biscuit was AMAZING! Nice and moist! The pancake was huge! My husband gets the sausage bowl and asks for it "half and half" which is grits and gravy Along with hash browns, eggs and cheese with your choice of meat. The big plus is free senior beverages. So this spot in HP was something quick & fast. Wanted to try a new place so decided on B.King. Well, it was alright. It's really clean, masks are required, sanitizer provided, and some tables were out of commission due to social distancing. As far as the food, it was decent. My boyfriend ordered his eggs with cheese, so did I. One of us didn't get cheese. Also the chicken he had was just a regular fried chicken patty, no flavor. I tried it, not a fan. The bologna was thick, nicely cooked tasted like bologna, but the egg had no flavor. (CheeseLESS even though we both ordered cheese) the biscuits were good. A good size, soft, & fluffy. I would only come back to try their burgers & fries because it looks good, but I'm a little hesitant because it might lack flavor. 3 stars for cleanliness & following guidelines during the pandemic. I visited Biscuit King this morning for a tenderloin and egg biscuit from the drive through. I though the biscuit was very good - maybe a step below Biscuit Factory (just like everyone else). The tenderloin wasn't as good as those from Country BBQ - I think CB cooks theirs longer or at a higher temperature because it's a darker brown. The egg was very good and the quantity was very generous. The only reason this review isn't higher is because of their masking. Everyone inside was masked with the exception of the person working the drive through. Everyone should be masked, but DEFINITELY the person interacting with customers. The masking issue should be an easy fix. I hope it is and I feel comfortable visiting again in the future. read more

I really wanted this place to be good. My wife is from the Lexington area and bragged about the Biscuit King there. They take online orders, so that's what we did. I arrived on time and had to wait on line a minute to let then know about my pick up. They had the order right there and said that one of the items rang up at the wrong price and they would refund the difference to my credit card. Another girl handed me a bag with my burgers in it. I was asked if there was a meal included in my order. The answer was yes and I was handed a cup. I got my drink while waiting on the onion rings and fries. I was standing at the counter for several minutes in plain view of the girl that just helped me. Finally I tell her that my email said the order would be ready at 1:01 PM. It is now 1:08 PM. The girl pointed to the bag and said my order was ready. I told her no, those are only the burgers. Now she has to scramble to find my onion rings and finish cooking the fries. I finally get my order and headed home. AFTER EVERYTHING I WENT THROUGH, SHE SHORTED ME AND ORDER OF FRIES! See the pictures of the onion rings and fries. Pretty skimpy too.
