I came here for biryani, and that's what I got. The fish biryani is pretty good, it was more than enough for three people though I was by myself. My name is Rohan, and I look like a Rohan, so I didn't have to ask, it came nice and spicy. Service was quick, and the seating set up was a little different than some of the PICs here, I think they were set up for a big group. When I visited there were mostly singles and doubles. I brought my dad here for lunch while running errands. Things that stick out. No warning sign the palek paneer was spicy. Not just spicy HOT. We are not heat people, so it was an unpleasant surprise. Chicken biryani was mostly bone with a little meat. Like the scraps you leave after deboning. This must be a cooking style I'm unfamiliar with. The rice pudding was basically a soup with fruit. That was very tasty if not rice pidding. Soda & ice tea from cans only. No ice, the ice machine was broken. Soda was coldish. My companion and I ordered Chicken Samosas. Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Onion Naan. The Chicken Tikka came with a side of naan. I had a Diet Coke and my friend ordered hot tea, which came in a styrofoam cup. The total came to just over $50! The Tikka consisted of two small drum sticks, scorched and partly inedible. On the plate was a slice of raw onion and some scraps of iceburg lettuce. The Butter Chicken, which came with rice, was a watery soup with some cubes of chicken in it. The taste was so-so. The samosas were OK. They were the smallest I've ever seen, about 2-1/2 inches across, deep fried in an egg roll skin. The naan breads were good, especially the onion one. I had to ask for a knife to cut my chicken. That took a while. The service was slow and indifferent. The young woman seemed to want to be anywhere else (I wondered if her family even pays her). We were the only customers in the place, but had to wait 10 minutes or more each time we needed something. We were clearly a bother. But halfway through the meal, she asked if we wanted the check. And asked twice more before we were done. My friend used her credit card and was given a receipt, but wasn't asked for a signature. I'm not sure whether this might be part of a scam. My friend found baked-on food on the rim of her plate. My plate had a chip that was dark gray. The bathroom was also grungy. I suspect that their dishwasher might be broken. Time for the health inspectors to pay them a visit! I've eaten in Indian and Pakistani restaurants in Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, and London, and never had a bad meal. I ate in small, modest places and in fancy restaurants, and the food was delicious, sometimes extraordinary. And I've never been to a South Asian restaurant that cost so much or cared so little about cleanliness! For shame! Go elsewhere! read more

The WORST quality of Indian food. Thoroughly disappointed. The subji were all loaded with gravy and not much else. I had 5 cubes of paneer in the mater paneer. I ordered the shrimp biryani, and what I got with a Styrofoam container, full of rice with only six shrimp in it. The rice was extremely spicy for not being a spicy dish, and I like spicy food personally, but this would be way too spicy for the average individual. They were only six shrimp, and the shrimp were not peeled. And they were buried in the plate. So you find them by eating a spoonful of rice and having a crunch and now you have to peel the shrimp while you're trying to enjoy your meal. Even the sauces were bland and lack the typical robust flavor of typical Indian food dishes. on top of all of that the cost of the plate was $20. You tell me. $20 for a Styrofoam container full of extremely spicy rice with only six shrimp and bland flavorless sauces? Yeah, this one was a poor choice on my part. First off, let me say that this place has some delicious butter chicken! It's not very spicy but I might have a higher tolerance for spicy foods, but it was really good, chicken is very tender and sauce was great. Only negatives - I absolutely do not recommend dining in here - come on, you don't have free cups of water? Made me pay for $3 bottles of water and rice is not free with entrees - another $4 per rice, kind of lame since most Indian places give it for free with entrees. Also, they have no real air conditioning in the restaraunt so it's very hot in the summer, our server (who was nice) gave us a fan to use in my picture below, but they need to get some actual AC for those Chicago July's, so overall, food good but overpriced experience. read more

Stopped for dinner while running errands and was sorely disappointed. Ordered mutton korma, chicken biryani, garlic naan, chicken and veggie samosas and two mango lassi. All pretty basic and I think pretty safe bets for a restaurant I'd not tried before. I asked for ice water, and was told we could only have bottled water, which I think is odd, but brushed it off. The samosas came out and were probably the only part of my entire meal that was decent. The mutton korma was honestly almost offensive. It almost seemed like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot, and of the 5-6 pieces of "mutton" in the bowl, 4 were just bone. I've eaten mutton and am aware there is often a lot of bone to work around, but this wasn't even the case. There were bones with zero meat, just cooked bones. In the end, I'd say that there was less than 2 tablespoons of meat in the entire serving. The sauce separated to the point there was a pool of oil, some overcooked sauce that separated into clumps and the bones. I let the server know that this was the case, and she apologized, and that was the end of it. She offered another serving to go, but I was so put off, I declined. The chicken biryani was pretty flavorless and the chicken seemed like it had been reheated and buried under a serving of rice. Nothing too notable other than it being boring. When we were done, and received the check, I noted that there was no line for me to tip. The server said they only accept tips in cash. Thankfully I had a $20.00 bill in my wallet, but I almost never carry cash, so could have been left in a very awkward position if I hadn't. I hate to complain, and feel terrible leaving a negative review about a small business. My stepfather (who was from India) and mother owned an Indian restaurant in NYC and I grew up eating a lot of Indian food in my childhood. This was my son's first time trying Indian food and it was not a good experience to the point that I'm sure he'll be hesitant to have it again. This used to be our go-to spot, but lately quality has been hit or miss, at least for carry-out. The last time, half of our order was actually inedible...the naan was flat, burned, and dried out and I couldn't even eat more than a few bites of the haleem, which was a super spicy, unappetizing meat slurry/porridge. I was also disappointed in the butter chicken and tikka masala, which were mostly soup with a few pieces of chicken. On a positive note, the Chicken 65 is consistently solid, although it can be really oily. I have been craving Indian food for a while now so I decided to give this place another try. I was extremely disappointed. The butter chicken had 4 small cubes of chicken and was in very runny sauce. The flavor was lacking. How can they charge $17 for butter chicken that can't even feed 1 person? The chicken 65 biryani had a more than 4 pieces of chicken however the rice was over cooked and lacked flavor. The mango lassi was room temperature. So it did not satisfy my craving. I think the only thing I actually enjoyed was the garlic naan but even then it wasn't very fluffy. Sadly I won't be returning here. I have a 3 strike policy. The money spent $49 was not worth it. On top of that, the portion size was extremely small. I maybe had 8 pieces chicken and a very runny sauce more reminiscent of Frank's Hot Sauce than chicken masala. The chicken biryani was also disappointing. The rice was flavorless while the chicken was just okay. Altogether, I don't think we'd be back. The smell upon entering is enchanting and enticing. I knew I had made the right choice with two steps in the door. The staff is nice. They helped me navigate the menu (which could be laid out a little clearer but just nitpicking). I made a few choices for myself and my wife. Had a nice conversation with the owner. This place is so delicious. They give big portions, and all the spices blend well together. For the price, I think it's worth it. The reason I have 4 stars is because the service isn't amazing. I have gone quite a few times and there isn't really a waitress so much as a person who takes your order and runs it to the back and then is never to be seen again. We had to ask for our drinks twice. But the food is absolutely amazing. I would just order out if that stuff bothers you being in the restaurant, I've done that a lot too. read more

Stopped here after Great America and this is a way better choice than eating at the park. There was confusion when we came in on whether this was a fast casual restaurant or a sit down restaurant. Nice to find an Indian restaurant near the mills, because one can only endure so much food court orange chicken. The place is small, but clean. Our plates and glasses, spotless. Everything in the mutton biryani from the spices to the traditional onion salan (hyderabadi biryani gravy) was very good. The frontier gosht was my favorite, piping hot and plenty of gravy. I personally consider chicken 65 an appetizer or snack versus an entree, though all items came out at the same time. It had that distinct curry leaf flavor that I was looking for. I'm curious to try their lunch items as they have sandwich items such as shawarma, gyro, even a chicken 65 sandwich. All in all, I'm both releaved and happy that authentic Indian food is available up in the northern burbs. A complimentary tip: Don't suff yourself with biryani, and then sit in a Six Flags ride. Biryani Pointe's food is delicious. Recommend it to everyone! During this COVID-19 stay at home time they deliver thru delivery services and help to bring diversity to your dinner menu. Recently I ordered dinner thru Grubhub. Their service kept pushing the delivery back hours due to a lack of drivers. When I called the restaurant the owner delivered my family's order himself. With that simple act - he has my loyalty to his restaurant. If you're considering this restaurant, CHOOSE IT! The food is amazing. And they care about their community.
