This place is excellent. A friend brought me here recently for what he said was the best East Asian food in the Milwaukee. I think he may be right. The small dining area was empty when we arrived at opening time and full by the time we finished. He ordered a lamb korma and said it was amazing. The naan was fresh, warm and fluffy. My malai kofta was light, tasty and had a rich, nuanced sauce. Now I want to try everything on the menu. The food is also halal. You can pull up the menu on your cell phone and vegetarian and carnivorous options abound. No alcohol is served.

Pro Tip: Don't worry about ordering too much. The leftovers are even better the next day Anmol is a great restaurant with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The curries are packed with flavor and even the basmati rice is flavorful as you can tell by the aromatic spices like whole cloves and cinnamon that you'll want to pick out before eating. This restaurant also offers #halal options for those with dietary restrictions. Prices were fair and I feel like we got a lot of value in quantity and flavor based on what we paid. The restaurant also offers multiple styles of samosas which are both amazing and unique. Thankfully we had some leftover to heat up the next day. After sitting overnight and marinating even further, the leftovers were so good I wished I had ordered more food just to enjoy it the next day!

There are few things that could be counted on anymore. Anmol proved to be one of them. Even during these unusual times, they stayed consistent with their options and quality. Like most of us, food always had been a comfort thing for me and it would have been more disappointing if I could not find delicious food when I was craving it. Their haleem is easily one of the best I had in the US. Each of their dishes have their own unique flavor. Never had a bad or sub-par biryani from them.

This spot right here is legit! It's great that Milwaukee has a place that serves Pakistani & Indian Halal cuisine and they don't disappoint. I've ordered from here many times and have always been satisfied with the wide assortment and array of dishes they offer. The Chicken Tikka is one of their most popular dishes and the tandoori masala it's marinated in is rich and flavorful. If you want to try a number of things I highly suggest ordering the Anmol Platter: Chicken Tikka, Chicken Boti, Seekh kabab, and Reshmi Malai. The Vegetable Samosas also rock! Order the Garlic Naan to compliment these dishes and I promise your belly will be full and content.

Regretfully, I have to give this place 1 star. This used to be my absolute favorite Indian restaurant when I lived in Milwaukee. I've lived in many cities in many states and nothing ever compared. I wished I wouldn't have tainted my memory with this visit. I ordered my usual dish, Shrimp Masala, and it was awful. The once red creamy &red curry was orange and oily. It had zero flavor, smelled funky, and the shrimp tasted off. When I informed the owner, I was simply met with a smug, "nothing has changed" as he walked away. Disappointed is an understatement. They've upgraded their furniture. but the food quality has went down hill.

On the way back from Madison to Chicago I wanted to stop by Milwaukee for a dinner break. Randomly searched for halal restaurants and Anmol came up as an option with good reviews. At first I thought this is the second restaurant of Anmol in Chicago but the owner confirmed it's not. I didn't have high hopes hearing that but the food quality and service at this restaurant beat all my expectations - chapati, naan, chicken makhani, chicken/goat karahi and bhindi were all great. Even the chai and dessert (gulab jamun) was freshly made and amazing. This is a hidden gem in the area and highly recommended. Too bad I don't live in Chicago else this would have been a repeat for me even if I had to drive an hour for that to Milwaukee

Our first time at Anmol was by chance. We were on a drive to Door County, wanted something Indian and dropped in based on Yelp reviews. An hour later we trooped out - happy tummies and totally wanting to revisit. That first visit we had Garlic Naan, Onion Kulcha, Shahi Paneer and Dal Makhani. Delicious, Comforting and Honest food. We stay 1+ hour away from here but I would make that drive just for their breads - the Kulchas and Naans are really one of the best around here. Soft, not chewy and every bite full of flavor. During another visit recently we had the breads, Channa Dal and Mutton Biryani. The Channa Dal was different but a good kind of different. Mildy tangy, Well spiced and comforting. I could imagine someone lovingly making it in the kitchen. A tad oily but I was ok with that considering the taste. The biryani was good too. Tender meat, Perfect separate long grain rice and a wonderful blend of the masala. If the food won us over, the friendly welcoming service is an added bonus. Anmol has now become a favorite.

I specifically love that they have a menu of so many different roti options, and I really wish I could try them all. We got a dosa, char kway teoh, and a roti planta as well as a bandung to drink. The roti planta was the only five star thing we tried lol but I'm keeping the five stars because I thought the prices were good and I also hold space for I prefer other styles of making these foods. Specifically, I wish the bandung was as good as the one I had in Singapore (I am forever chasing that high), and I prefer a South Indian dosa at places in Chicago. I also prefer the Malaysian char kway teoh because the noodle felt a bit sweet and less of the wok flavor.

I ordered the roti filled with chicken, onion, and egg, and it was tasty. I could see the roti being cooked in the kitchen area which was visible and that was fun to watch. The dish was delicious and it was plentiful so I could save enough for lunch the next day. A couple of folks felt their food was on the spicy side, so if you need a milder version, make sure to tell them. For the stuffed roti I ate, I felt the spice level was just perfect - not too much but not nonexistent, either. The menu is vast and there is so much to try, including dosas, all kinds of rotis, noodles, soups, and more.

Saffron remains one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in MKE I love so many things about it. The ambiance is spot on, moody, yet energetic. Their cocktails are always ahhhmazing. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, offering great recommendations when we are choosing between items. It's a great spot to go with a larger group so you can try lots of dishes! It's not impossible to get a reservation which I appreciate, but it's always booked/lively. The food presentation only enhances the experience, but the flavors and textures are really what make this menu shine. The atmosphere and staff were also great! For the food - everything we tried was excellent: kachori, bhel poori, mixed veg utappam, thali platter with vegetable korma and paneer burji. Most were recommended by the person who took our order (we asked her opinion on things repeatedly and she was so kind and thoughtful!). Our favorite was the kachori. The lentil filling was delicious and the fried pastry shell was TO DIE FOR. The tamarind chutney was the best tamarind chutney I've ever had. The utappam was also great! It came with a coconut chutney that became my favorite chutney ever! And my partner loved the sambhar. If we had to do it over again, we would have ordered the onion utappam because the cooked bell peppers in the mixed veg uttapam weren't our fave - but it didn't take away from the deliciousness of the crispy, flavorful utappam. I really liked the bhel poori too! When I looked at it, I thought it would be dry and lack flavor ... but I was definitely wrong about that! It was sweet and savory not at all dry. We did add the raita sauce from the thali platter on the top of the bhel poori for a little extra sauce / flavor and were pleased with the addition. The thali platter was great because we got to pick whichever two curries we wanted. As we had for most of our food choices, we asked the lovely lady who worked there about her recommendations. She was spot on with her recommendations of vegetable korma and paneer burji. Both were excellent. I also got the chai tea - it was warm and yummy. My partner got the Indian lemonade. He liked it a lot, but it wasn't my fave. It was worth trying though. And finally, the desserts. The thali platter came with a gulab jamun - and it was the best one my partner and I ever had! Then after finishing our meal, we went to check out the other desserts. We had no idea what to get so the same lady who helped us figure out what to order for dinner also helped us with the desserts. She even let us sample a lot of them! We got a lot of different things and all had great flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. I expected the bill to be quite high because we ordered so much. But it was just over $50 which seemed very reasonable to me. I'd recommend this place to anyone! So go there ... and thank me later :)
