I wanted to like this place. Unfortunately they fell short. I ordered a Bahubali Sandwich. Came 20 minutes later with French fries (not chips), which were fried very hard! They were just as crispy as chips and very greasy! The seasoning could have saved it if they weren't so oily. The sandwich was four slices of bread stacked together with a small amount of vegetables in between. By itself, it was 5/10.

Ordered for pick up the Bahubali Sandwich and it was delicious! Several fresh herbs and sauces for every layer that went perfectly with the vegetables. Nice and light sandwich that comes with fries on the side. I wish I had ordered more things to try and will be back.

The eating area was clean, the ladies working were so respectful and outgoing and the shop had so MANY neat things to look at. I bought a natural handmade soap and I am absolutely obsessed! The lunch menu has a huge variety of options, which made it tough to choose. I went with the BLT on sourdough, served with a pickle spear and thick-cut potato chips. It totally hit the spot. The bacon they use is fantastic. My friend ordered the Sriracha Melt (ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, jalapeños, and sriracha mayo grilled on white bread), which also came with chips and a pickle. Immediately devoured. The salads looked incredible....the table next to us ordered a couple and they looked absolutely divine. Next time for sure. The adjacent market is a must-browse too. It's packed with specialty products and rare finds that you don't see everywhere, making it easy to walk out with way more than you planned. Great food, great service, and a fun market to explore. Highly recommend stopping in if you're anywhere near West Allis.

But once you know where it is, it's easy to find and worth it. I went in during lunch one day and it was quiet. The hours are limited, as they close early afternoon. I had a great conversation with the owners and cook, Gus, and his lovely wife behind the counter. I ordered the lamb gyro plate with the french fries - and Gus said, you can get fries anywhere, try my rice! And so he served up the rice and asked me to try it right then and there. I asked for my feta on the side, and again he was insistent I try it then. The portions are gigantic - it was enough for at least 2 meals. We talked about his background in ethnic cooking. I was impressed they opened up around the time Covid-19 was raging and they've managed to stay in business despite opening up during a difficult time. The food was good, the portions are generous, making it a good value for the money, I enjoyed meeting the proprietors, and I'm looking forward to returning and trying out some of his soups and other lunch items.

Gus clearly loves his job, and it shows in the food and the service. My wife ordered sausage and French toast, which was wonderfully eggy and rich. I got a chorizo breakfast burrito -- delicious, served with a perfect (for me) salsa -- medium heat and rife with cilantro. The place had just opened for the day and we were the only ones there. The place is large and clean; understated but inviting. Gus doted on us, bringing out some freshly fried tortilla chips for me to enjoy with the burrito and salsa. The seasoning on the chips was a nice touch. The burrito was humongous -- too big really, as we had no way to store it, but we're not going to ding a place for that, and if you can take home leftovers, it's two meals for the price of one. Gus is a gem -- a wholehearted, full FIVE STARS for this place.

The waitstaff will walk you through how that works your first time. We started with some of the taste & share plates - showing off WI cheese to the out of towners - and then a few people shared some gnocchi and beef tartare while a couple people got burgers. We had maybe 4 bites leftover, and no room for dessert, it was a personal victory. I'm sad I didn't get photos because I love the feel of each unique area that's here. The restaurant is bigger than you think because it's subdivided into smaller rooms. We had a group of 7 for a work event (which meant I kept my phone put away) and were in a cozy little nook in the back by ourselves, I'd never even noticed this little spot. What a fantastic time we had!

It's a great environment with a lot of good drink options. I always opt for the Parker rolls which are tasty but again expensive for the amount you get, I typically order the trout (which until coming here I didn't realize was essentially the same as salmon). It's very good and the potato pancake is a nice touch. Over my visits I've also enjoyed trying the short rib gnocchi, butter chicken, and brussels. They also have a small party room which I have attended an event in before which is always a nice touch. It's secluded and of course much quieter than their main dining area which can get pretty loud!

My order consisted of jerk egg rolls and a jerk chicken plate with rasta mac and sweet plantains for the sides. The jerk egg rolls were good, but I don't think they're my favorite in the Milwaukee area. One of them had a large piece of green pepper in it, so I assumed the other two would as well, but I didn't find it in the others. Other than the green pepper in the one egg roll they were filled with just chicken and cabbage, so not a ton of varying flavors. The rasta mac is mac and cheese with some diced peppers mixed in. The peppers added a little flavor to the mac, but were also easy to pick out for those that don't like peppers. The plantains were probably the best I've had. They were a little mushy instead of hard, which I liked, and their sweetness was apparent. The jerk chicken in the plate came with half a chicken and relied on rub instead of sauce, which worked for me since that's how I prefer jerk chicken. I do think there's room for them to go a little heavier on the rub without making it too hot for most people.

The prices are outrageous for the tiny portion sizes, although I couldn't eat even the small amounts given since it was all so disgusting. It's $28 for sour fried chicken with an artificial "sauce" and elementary school cafeteria quality Mac and "cheese." An order of plantains is $5 for four mushy little nubs. $7 for one smelly beef patty. $6 for "coco" bread that is really just a stale dinner roll. Everything was just thrown haphazardly into small, open plastic bags. Seriously, don't order from this sad excuse for a restaurant
