We came to Bundoo Khan in Chicago with high expectations and hungry stomachs. This restaurant name has quite the reputation in my wife"s native Pakistan and in other parts of the world. The restaurant was quite packed and full of patrons. Overall the restaurant was very loud and it was hard to hear in there. We ordered the Chicken Biryani, The Highway Chicken Karahi, the lamb kebabs, the chicken Bihari kebabs, chicken Tikka and the beef Seekh kebabs. Although the food looked good, it wasn't quite up to the mark. The chicken biryani was dry and had too much essence in it, the chicken Tikka was dry. The chicken Karahi and the lamb kebabs by far were their best dishes. Honestly though for $228, we felt the food was overpriced and the quality of the food, fell well short of our expectations. Overall, we give Bandoo Khan a 3 out of 5 stars. It is a one time for us. There are better options out there with better prices.
Heard good about this place so we decided to go here. So we wanted to give it a try but we are utterly disappointed. Place is packed and it was extremely loud.... We ordered a lot of food including goat biryani, chicken Kashmiri and highway goat Karahi. To our surprise goat Karahi was really skimpy quantity and when we started eating it almost90% of the goat pieces were all bones with very little flesh remain it. Together with the skimpy quantity and all boney pieces we were very disappointed. Chicken Kashmiri was of pretty good taste. We ordered a card different naans and some were left uncooked. Goat biryani was simply terrible and very very mediocre to bad taste. We also ordered a chicken kabob and they were so undercooked that we had to call them and we asked about it. They said they would replace it but we were not interested because we were so disappointed. Overall we are very disappointed Go try other options of similar food all around Devon Ave. Bundoo Khan is way overrated and we will not be going there again.
+4/5 Food was delicious we had the mixed grilled meats and chicken karhai (bone in) and spicy chicken tenders . The mixed grill was good - felt the red chili on the chicken tikka was too strong. It was also overpriced for the offering. Highway chicken karhai was delicious well balanced, very tasty. Ambiance was okay. Service was okay. Felt the price was a bit high for what we had . $120 for the aforementioned three dishes, naan plus tip/tax.
A coworker suggested trying Bundoo Khan, and since it was my first time having Pakistani food, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up really enjoying it. The food was vibrant and full of flavor. Every bite had a great balance of spices, and you could really taste the depth in each dish. Service was decent, nothing standout, but it got the job done. The atmosphere was one of the highlights. It felt elegant, and the lighting and overall ambiance really complemented the dining experience. Overall, if you're looking to try a solid Pakistani restaurant, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.
Went for the amazing Menu and it did not disappoint! Authentic live Pakistani grilled meat with the best options. Tried the steak which melted in our mouth and the highway karahi chicken and grilled chicken sampler. The ambiance is upscale for a halal restaurant on Devon street and they were very generous and kind. Service was prompt and they gave us refills on the salad plates upon request. Highly recommend!
I would honestly give this place a 4.5 if I could but I'd lean towards a 5 rather than 4. The food was absolutely amazing. Me and my buddy came here. As per usual, Parking was tough but that's all of Devon. The service was great. They checked on us often, but didn't bother us. They made sure to ask if we needed any bread if we were running out. We got the lamb chops, which is absolutely the best. We got a Karahi and 2 normal entrees grilled. All were great. I think next time we come, we'll probably do 2 orders of lamb chops and a Karahi with butter naan. It is absolutely amazing. I think if you are looking for this type of food, then this is a great spot to be at. The inside is clean. It's well made and thought out. Seating is comfortable. For a restaurant on Devon, the bathroom was not bad.
I have said it before in my review and I will say it again. bundo khan is the best restaurant on devon strip, when it comes to authentic pakistani food taste, amazing service and really nice ambiance. All in all 5 star restaurant
Saw great reviews about this place and decided to give it a try. While the food absolutely lived up to the hype, the service was unfortunately quite slow and not very attentive. We started with the combo grilled platter--generous portions and easily shared among four people. For mains, we ordered the puri paratha, which quickly became a favorite, and the kulcha, which was satisfying as well. The standout dish was their signature chicken karahi (half portion), served bubbling hot in the traditional Kadhai. It was rich, bold, and packed with flavor--easily my personal favorite. To finish off, we tried the vanilla falooda. It leaned a bit heavy on the pink jelly or syrup for my taste, but still offered a refreshing and sweet ending to the meal.
Chicken was kinda overcooked and had like no color which I feel like is kinda hard in a kadai like it's giving make a gravy base and then toss in at the very end which is kinda lame. Spices were good and flavor was nice but meat was disappointing. Maybe better w goat Biryani was actually rly good and done right, would've been nice if they gave some yogurt but it's okay Kulcha was too crispy and not bready enough, puri was too fried, naan was good though but hard to mess up toh Beef boti was fire, Samosas were lacking a bit in flavor and fry
If you are looking for authentic kabab's this is the place to be, on Devon avenue.we tried the mixed grill which had little bit of everything and my family loved it all. The chicken zinga burger is nice too, had a Desi touch to it. Service is friendly and restrooms are clean.
OH MY GOD! I cannot wait to be back because this place is so freaking good! I know for a fact that next time I come back, I will get the chicken combo platter even if it's just 2 people. The way they cook the chicken here is phenomenal! Every piece of the beef/chicken is super juicy and flavorful. We definitely ordered too much for 2 people because my partner did not even touch the lentils and we had to take it home as leftover. Even the Aloo Palak was super flavorful as an appetizer. The service was pretty quick in terms of ordering food, but it took a few follow-ups for water. Pretty decent size place inside with a ton of spacious room between each table/walkway. I am so excited to come back with more friends next time to try other things!
Bundoo khan hits the spot every time! I love this place for authentic Pakistani bbq! We got the beef Bihari kebab, the beef kebabs and the goat chops. All were perfectly cooked and nicely flavored. The bread is so fluffy and light I could eat it alone. We also got the falooda which was nice but very different from traditional Pakistani falooda: had jello and canned fruits in it. The servers are nice but the food took 30 minutes to prepare which are rather annoying.
Very good food! Even better if you like spicy. I went with my mom and aunt and we loved the food despite 2/3 of us not having a high spice tolerance. We got the Chicken Tikka, Chicken Biriyani, 2 Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi, and Kashmiri Chicken Karahi (but if you can handle spicy I recommend the Highway Chicken Karahi). They do get pretty busy so if you're a bigger party seating wait time might be awhile.

It has been a while since my last visit, but this meal reminded me why this spot stands out for authentic Pakistani dining. The Food Tandoori Chicken Breast: Remarkably juicy and tender, avoiding the dryness that often plagues white meat kebabs, with great tandoor flavor. Bihari Kebab: Packed with deep spice, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, and a fantastic smoky char from the grill. Goat Karahi: Rich, deeply seasoned, and perfectly balanced without being overly oily. Sides & Breads:The naan arrived hot, soft, and plump, perfect for scooping up the karahi masala. Even the fries were served piping hot and fresh. The food was so good I didn't even get a chance to take photos before half of the dish was devoured. Service & Ambiance What truly elevated the night was the front-of-house team. We came in during a peak, packed Saturday night rush, and the service was easily the best I've experienced in years. Despite every table being full, the servers operated with remarkable speed and precision--checking in at just the right moments, anticipating refills, and waiting on us hand and foot without a single delay. While the prices sit slightly on the higher side, the exceptional food quality, upscale atmosphere, and unmatched hospitality make it entirely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Pakistani cuisine in a comfortable, polished setting. read more

The service, food, and ambiance was great! Not only did we get seated fast on a Friday night but was able to get our order taken pretty fast too. They give us a little salad plate for the table right away. We ordered the beef samosas (4 pieces) (not pictured) but they were amazing & came out hot! For the main entrees we got chicken biryani, the poori porota, the combo chicken platter, and garlic naan. Finding parking was the only hard thing but that's pretty much the deal going anywhere in Devon. read more

Absolutely delicious. The smoked karahi chicken was so good- just the right amount of Smokey flavor. I would have liked more salan though just because it was so damn good. Beef samosas were good/ very spicy. Not a huge fan of Bihari kabob- the taste was good but texture is a bit too mushy for me. Mango lassi was a perfect dessert. Service was okay but could have been better, they only gave us 3 glasses of water for 4 people, weren't very attentive on refills and asking us if we needed anything. Will definitely be back read more
Had never been here but got told by multiple people that it's very good and they have good karahi. So we stopped by here for dinner. The place was clean and pretty busy for a 5 pm dinner. We were seated right away and were told to use the QR code and look at the menu and when ready to flag a server down to order. Seemed like the servers were shared amongst the restaurant so you could ask anyone for anything at anytime which seemed to work well. We ordered some BK Beef Samosa for appetizers and then ordered a Highway Chicken Karahi (Half) and Beef Seekh Kabab Roll for entrees. The karahi was really really good. Lived up tot he hype and everything that I was told about how good it is. The chicken was moist and very well spiced. Came in a big pot of it's namesake. And the quantity was more than enough. The roll was also very good. The paratha was hot and soft filled to the brim with the beef seekh kabob and vegetable and drizzled chutneys. The beef samosas were good and fresh and piping hot. The mince was flavorful and the wrapper was very crispy. All in all a very affordable and flavorful dinner for a family of five. Will definitely go back and maybe try some of their bbq dishes. read more

The food was AMAZING. We ordered the highway karahi chicken, bihari beef roll, chicken tikka, rice, and garlic naan. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. 10/10 would highly recommend. read more
I'm on a chicken karahi kick so had to stop by Bundoo Khan for some authentic highway karahi. Also grabbed the bihari kebab and super fluffy and fresh garlic naan. Everything tasted amazing- the karahi was spicy for me but I loved every tear filled second. Service was friendly but we had to repeat our order a few times. Understandable as place was packed and very busy. read more

The food quality has gone so low that it is basically unconsumable. I called them to provide some resolution as the meat platter was too spicy. The chicken tikka was full of red spice ( if it was consumed would lead to ulcers in the stomach) , what was the resolution? Not to refund or provide better food. Their resolution was to inform us next time. Wtf. What am i supposed to eat right now? This uncooked salmonella laden spicy chicken?? I just threw it away and ordered from Ali Nihari( much better BBQ) and atleast some customer service experience. This manager whoever he was needs to learn some hospitality. read more
Very very good experience! The service and staff was awesome! They were very attentive and brought out all the accompaniments even though we said we were taking it to go. We always come for the rolls! All of them! The family favorite is the chicken malai ! But they were all good! The bathrooms were clean. The place has plenty of seating so great for groups. read more
Loved loved loved this place! Desi food places will always have my heart! This was a much awaited place to try! I had heard so much about it and just had to try it! We ordered chicken tikka which was just yummmm! Juicy, tender, and soo flavorful!! We also ordered beef seekh kabab which was equally yummy! We had that with puri paratha which was so goood! Looking for authentic Pakistani food in Chicago, you need to check out Bundoo Khan ASAP! Walking on Devon Ave and noticed this place was packed and decided to give it a try and it was the best decision. The food was absolutely delicious. As you walk in to the restaurant you are welcomed with the amazing aroma of the freshly prepared kabobs. There is a glass wall and you can see the kabobs getting prepared. We didn't have reservations so put our names on the gwaitlist. We were seated within 15 minutes. The place was super busy and rightfully so. We tried the zinger burger, highway chicken Karahi, grill meat platter, daal, and naan. I can't rave about the food enough, it was perfectly cooked and the portions size was great. The dishes are so fresh and flavorful. The highway karahi is the star dish and a must try. The grill platter was also so good and kabobs were moist and not dry at All. Daal also tasted really good. The zinger burger was so tasty and juicy. Special mention for the fries, you can't stop eating them. Check out Bundoo Khan to enjoy some traditional Pakistani dishes. Highly Recommend ! read more

I ordered the Philly steak sandwich/fries. Delicious and large portions of meat. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. read more
We tried out the combo grill meat platter and goat biryani with some fresh naan. The naan was but everything else was meh. I know this place gets a lot of hype but I wasn't impressed, the meat was mostly dry (especially the tandoori chicken) and the biryani was alright with very few pieces of meat and a small portion. Also the service was slow and I don't think I'll be going there again, especially since the price and quality and portion ratios were off. We also tried a mango lassi which was good but not coming back solely for. read more
