This time, we decided to move forward with a project Luis recommended: refinishing one of the wood laminate kitchen countertops in our rental unit. Initially, I expected the result to look like a simple repaint, especially considering how worn and faded the laminate surface had become. However, once I saw the finished work, I could hardly believe my eyes. It genuinely looked as though we had replaced the countertop with granite. The finish appeared solid, durable, and waterproof. Long story short, I spent $400 to repair a fiberglass tub that wasn't repairable in the first…read moreplace. After two failed attempts to fix it, I got a second opinion and was told the tub was not repairable. The explanation was that if you push on the backrest of the tub where the cracks are opening up, it's very soft back there and the tub flexes into the space. This indicates rot behind the tub. When we went under the house for further inspection, that assessment was confirmed. The repair was never going to hold. When I told Mike about the issue, he got defensive and said there was no way they would know about this issue. It seems to me that someone who repairs tubs for a living should be able to push on it like the second guy did and figure out whether it can be repaired. But they didn't. Mike never came out to see the tub. I sent a few pictures, and he asked a few questions then told me could fix it. Also the guy Sergio who came to do the work didn't do an assessment of the integrity of the tub. He just jumped right into the reglazing. I did tell him that this seemed a bit like a scam to me. He has my $400 and I still have a cracked tub. He was super defensive and started going on about his background and how he hates contractors and that he isn't going to let this second person pass the blame onto him. None of which matters to me. What matters is my wasted $400. Fortunately, I had someone arrive at my front door and was able to end the conversation. Overall very disappointing that they didn't do better due diligence on the condition of the tub, took my money for a repair that was never going to work, and then got defensive about it.

Fadi took the time to listen to our needs-we did not want teak oil on the deck chair because the resulting color does not match our other furniture. He took the time to research our options and our chair is beautifully restored with an alternate treatment oil that is a perfect match. Should be noted that deck chairs are notoriously difficult as they have tons of slats and are a pain to prep and sand down. He did an amazing job and in quick time. We had a similarly positive experience with our BBQ table. It now has a beautifully refreshed look and badly needed weather protection. We experienced great communication and prices were very fair.
