I had about 1100 SF of carpet that I wanted to tear out and was looking for a company that could stain and refinish the white oak parquet floors that were underneath the carpet. I requested an initial quote through Yelp and Bino's team was able to follow up with an in-person walkthrough to confirm the condition and square footage. I received a quote of about $6,600 for labor and materials, which took into account the condition of the flooring underneath. It took about 2 weeks between when I paid my deposit and when the work was able to start. Carpet tear-out took about a day. It took about a week (weekends included) to sand the floors, stain, and apply 3 coats of oil-based PU. Alejandro did the bulk of the refinishing and was a pro at his job. He did a great job patching parts of the floors that were damaged and with refinishing everything. Two months have passed since the job was completed and the floors still look amazing. My wife and I had new floors installed in our whole house. At first we were going with either laminate or vinyl, and got probably 10 estimates (including from Lowe's and Lumber Liquidators, which were both HORRIBLE experiences). After researching the durability and safety of those materials, we changed our minds and decided on tile. That meant that we had to start the whole estimate process over, because most flooring companies don't do tile. It's a special skill, and it is tough to find a good tiler in our area that isn't insanely expensive. We had one quote that was triple the price, and that guy didn't do baseboards or move furniture or anything. Bino's was actually the first to respond. Bino came by and gave me the quote the next day. He sent a detailed estimate via email with everything broken out by cost. We had older hardwood laminate glued down, as well as tile in a few areas, and 3 bedrooms of carpet. The demo was insane. Bino's crew had 2 guys with jackhammers going at the same time, and they ended up needing to get bigger jackhammers to get it all up. Then they had to grind off the wood scraps and glue. After that it was discovered that the concrete flooring was uneven in places, so they had to grind the concrete level in 2-3 areas and use quick level in others. Let me just say that Kuko, the tiler from Bino's, is THE MAN. He is a master at what he does. He made sure everything was level, precise, and perfect. He had the attention to detail that I have for my own house, and I'm a perfectionist. Each day he would show me what they did, what they planned to do the next day, how he'd leveled everything, etc. He was always available and responsive to questions. This was a HUGE job. The crew worked 7 days a week, weekends, Memorial Day, etc. It took a solid month to get it all done. You just can't rush it if you want it done right, and these guys did it right. I can't say enough great things about Kuko. There was a small hiccup on the last day, when Kuko had to move on to another job and the other guys missed a few things, but as soon as I told Kuko, he had them back and fixing everything I pointed out. Kuko made sure we were totally happy by the end. He even brought back a can of paint thinner they'd mistakenly grabbed, and dropped it off on the 4th of July! He is a really great craftsman, and is everything you want in someone working on your home. Bino trained him from what I understand, and he did a great job. If you're looking for tiling work, HIRE these guys. You won't regret it. read more

Bino's employees were professional and took great care while handling my belongings as well as making sure to leave my home in good condition each day they were done with work. Even though his employees always did great work, Bino visited regularly in order to make sure my floors were being installed to his high standards. Bino and his team managed to refloor my entire home in just 4 days. I am confident they would have been able to do it in just 3 days if it weren't for a delay due to poor electrical work from the previous owners. Bino's prices were extremely reasonable. While his bid wasn't the lowest, he came in only $200 higher than the lowest bidder but was much more responsive. He did beat the next highest bid by over $1,500. I contacted this company over yelp and sent them photos of what I needed done (laminate floor repair in our hallway) A technician came out to look at the spot and quoted us an insanely high amount for a small area needing repair of only 13 in x 20 in. We knew it would be a little difficult since this is an old house. We are not in the construction field, so we were looking for guidance and received none from Bino's. Not only did he barely take measurement but i had to re-send the photos to him again through text when I pressed for a quote. When he came back with a quote for $1k I was shocked. Did I look elsewhere? Heck yes. We found a handiman who came out and explained he could do the job for $350-400. He made a point to inform us that the wood would not match very well since the houses originally built in this area are all from the 1950's and the wood is no longer used in construction. I appreciated him taking the time to explain the job- but I kept scratching my head as to why our first estimator with Bino's would charge nearly 2 x as much without explanation. They must have believed I would just pay it without question. Think again. Honestly, that's why I went with the handyman over Bino's. Maybe the job was too small for them and they hoped to deter our business by price gouging us in a quote. read more

Bino and Karina responded to my flooring project requests on Yelp within 20 mins or so. They showed up​ on time, did the measurements and carefully inspected the entire area. He pulled ​up ​the old carpet and measured the gap between the subfloor/plywood and the baseboards. He was certain that ​all ​the baseboards must be removed and reinstalled because the gap between the floors and baseboards will just be too big to be covered by quarter round. He also pointed out lthat leveling work might ​need to be done​ but there might be more economical ways to solve the problem​. After the initial meeting, I felt that I might have a winner here. He stands out from the rest. He is very professional, confident and easy to work with. He has the best price too. A team of four VERY hardworking and skillful installers worked tirelessly the next few days from moving furniture around, removing baseboards, demolishing carpets, fixing loose squeaky and damaged subfloors to ​the ​actual cutting and installing the planks. I cannot thank them enough for their wonderful job done! Bino came to inspect his team's work a few times. He really takes his job seriously (he is more critical than I am :). read more

Bino was amazing!!! I live in Northern California but I have a rental in Venice that needed the floors replaced in one of the bedrooms. The original company that installed them told me the flooring was discontinued and that it was unrepairable. We had to install all new different flooring. Please keep in mind we just installed them 16 months ago so I reached out to different companies and that's when Bino went above and beyond. He was not only in constant communication with us every step but he located 3 boxes of the discontinued flooring at multiple locations and made the repair within days. At this point I'm embarrassed I haven't written a yelp review for Bino. I've used Bino for several projects now. Bino tore out damaged bamboo flooring in a bedroom and installed laminate flooring quickly so we could turn our rental property around. At another house he also ground down a bumpy tile floors to level so we could install new laminate and tile in an 800 square foot rental unit. The work was done quickly and he had so many options for the various issues we found in our 100+ year old house. The most recent job was for our own house. We had a very sloped floor that also included a termite-damaged subfloor in our kitchen, and a new addition to the house that caused a severe slope in the hallway. He removed the old flooring, trying to save what he could at our request. He then spent 6 days leveling our new subfloor and putting in new floor joists and supports. Our house was crooked and the spacing between joists was much further apart than current building codes. He reinforced everything so any new flooring wouldn't crack due to subfloor shifting. When he found a termite damaged foundation girder he stopped work and helped me call around to find someone to repair it. He saved me so much money and headache pointing out this problem when he found it so that I could have the girder replaced before the subfloor was put down. He suggested a great contractor that was able to come the next day. He gave me suggestions of tile and suppliers since I was providing the tile myself. Bino is so wonderful to work with. He would send me videos and photos so I could weigh in on any issues he discovered and just general progress reports. The tile is in, and the floor is level for probably the first time in 50 years. read more

He and his wife came to the house to give us the estimate, and they were early, which was a positive sign. We then paid a deposit and agreed upon a start date, which was approximately one week later. His employees came out and finished the job--removing carpet, refinishing hardwood floors and repairing stains and termite damage, and matching the existing refinished floors in another part of the house--in three days. They were professional, skilled, and respectful. I forgot to mention that his quote was entirely reasonable, and the additional quote once the damage was discovered was also reasonable. Worked with scheduling with the kitchen and sliding doors installers. Honest! I overpaid one balance and Bino pointed it out and recalculated the remainder of another balance. His crew was fast and professional. And he will explain how installation works if you have an issue. His partner, Rafael, installed he tiles. This guy is a tile master. He laid approximately 550' of tile in 2 days and finished off with grout for half of the third day. His lines are straight and there is no slanting. First of all, no phones rang and there were no missed calls on my mobile phone nor did my landline ring which is hooked up to the outside call box. I went completely off of Yelp and chose someone who only had one review and a good review. I went with my hunch and followed Alex L's review as the truth. I called Bino and he answered the phone and got out to my house the next day to give me an estimate. Just the fact that he answered his phone was impressive, but when he called me the next day 5 minutes before our appointment time to make sure I WAS ON MY WAY as he was ALREADY there - WOW I knew I had made a good choice. The floors turned out very nice and Bino and all of his workers were polite, on time, and easy to work with. In fact they were the best contractors that I worked with on this job. The price was reasonable and the skill level was high. They had to work with tile that had been installed over portions of the wood floor, water damaged floor, and rebuilding a trap door that was also covered in wood flooring. And of course as we pulled up the carpet we found a 2' x 4' section of floor that was missing completely. Bino's crew filled it in and laced it into the existing flooring - for someone who didn't know about the missing flooring, they would not even notice where that spot was now that it's done. Bino always consulted with me first if there were any add on's to the estimate - which he made while the carpet was still down- so I was expecting that there could be additional fees. Probably my only "complaint" was that I thought he had quoted me for the transition strip between the wood and tile flooring in the kitchen, but he had done a thorough job on filling out his estimate and when I looked at it, it did not list the transition - so I paid additional money for that. And as Alex pointed out - do not let the tattoos scare you off - he and his crew are professionals who do really good work and stick to the schedule - I absolutely recommend them for refinishing wood floors and combining both old flooring and new. read more

The saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover is appropriate here". I contacted Bino's flooring to install vinyl planks and carpet on my boat. Bino had never installed flooring on a boat, and offered to come to the marina to give an estimate. He arrived perfectly on time. To be honest, when I met him, I had second thoughts. Bino has tattoos that are not, shall I say, decorative. I talked to him and got the feeling that I was talking to a man who had been given a second chance and would not waste it. We just bought a new home, mid century modern 1950's house and of course, we lifted up the nasty shag carpet and revealed 60 year old, virgin oak flooring!
