Update to my review on a place that I loved so very much. Went here with my mom for a lunch date. Waited for about 10 minutes to be greeted at the hostess stand. Thought... okay. They are busy. No big deal. Finally a gentleman walks up to us and asks how many in our party. We say just the two of us. He grabs two menus, peeks around a corner at the tables and then disappears around a corner. My mom and I looked at each other like, "did he want us to follow him?" We assumed he did so we follow. He takes us right around the corner to the left of the hostess stand to a rinkydink table that looks as if they pulled it from their attic. Rickety circle table with two rickety chairs smack dab in the middle of all of the foot traffic. I'm not typically picky, but this table was just so sad. Should have taken a photo to share with you all. My mom made a comment to this guy about seating us at the worst possible table in the restaurant and his reply was, "I actually really like this table" and he walked away. ONE! There were plenty of other open tables which I know for a fact was in our servers section as other guests were sat at them soon after we were seated. TWO! When a customer displays their dissatisfaction, you fix the problem! Next comes our server. She asks us what we would like to drink and brings those out to us and walks away. 20 minutes later... She hasn't come back to our table, but we see her chatting with her other tables and taking their orders. She walked right past us multiple times. A group of four ladies came in and were seated about 5 minutes after us and had already been served their food all while we are here without the chance to even order ours. Finally, I looked at my mom and said, "grab your purse. We are done here." And out we went. The employees at the hostess stand (particularly the guy who sat us in the first place) saw us get up and walk out and no one thought to stop us to see what was wrong. When I was a server, if someone didn't like the table they were at, I moved them. And if someone WALKED from our establishment, our asses were grass. For the prices being charged for the food here, I believe the service should match that. And, believe me, I am all for tipping well over 20% for exceptional service. But this was NOT IT. From the moment we walked in, we were not welcomed there. I've never had a bad experience at Bin 303 and it has always been so delightful. Sure showed us, I guess. Such a complete letdown. It makes it really hard to ever want to return to this restaurant in fear of receiving the same treatment again. Just a terrible experience from start to finish. Moral of the story, my mother and I ended up walking over to Zanata's where we received the BEST service and now has our business from here on out. read more

Well this is may be the 6th time I've been here. I thought I had left a review already that wasn't great, based on logistical and service related stuff, but maybe I didn't. This is the first time I've been back in a long while, and I'm pleased to say, it did not disappoint and I'm glad I gave it another try. The food here has always been outstanding. I've always heard how great the steaks are here. Though I've eaten here a handful of times, this is the first time I've done a steak. I chose the pepper dusted filet. Might be in top 5 steaks I've had. It was perfect! The pepper dusting, the small mushrooms, the mushroom cream sauce was amazing and cooked to perfection!! We got the 3 sides for $16. Brussels sprouts had great flavor, truffle fries and twice baked potato were perfect. The unsweetened iced tea tased so good and was so refreshing. The flavor of the tea was really good. A friend told us about this place and raved about it so our group of six went there for dinner. Food was ok, but not as good as it should have been for the price. All 6 of us were not real excited about the quality of the food and definitely didn't think the price was good, especially with the 20% gratuity adder. Service was decent, but not great, ambiance was good. I think they just need to focus on improving the food quality or lowering the price point. I went on a Thursday night without a reservation. Half of the restaurant was closed off for a private party, so we sat at a table in the bar area near the front door. It did get a little loud. The food was amazing and their 303 Fries were fried to perfection. The burger was also cooked perfectly to my preference. The flavor combination of the bacon, onion, avocado, cheese and juicy meat patty was outstanding. March 2025 We chose this place for out 53rd wedding anniversary. We have had excellent meals here in the past for special occasions but tonight was beyond expectations. Tuesday nights are usually low attendance, but the staff at BIN 303 were beyond welcoming and attentive to us. It seems as if the whole staff was waiting for us, all knew about our occasion, and they went out of their way to make this evening a special one for us. The meal was spectacular in every way. Our waitress Seeli was attentive and a joy. The bar hostess was also extremely accommodating, taking good care of us while we waited for a private booth to become available. Everyone made for a perfect evening for us, one that we will never forget. As for the meal. the filets were the best we have ever had, and every side and desert made the meal unforgettable. Overall this place was great! My husband and I came on a Friday night, we did have a reservation so I would recommend that if you plan to come on the weekend. The AC was out on the front waiting area/bar which was rough but we didn't wait there long and the hostess assured it wasn't out where the tables were. We ordered the goat cheese tart special appetizer, the grouper special with Brussels sprouts, the NY strip with mushrooms, the crab and shrimp mac and cheese, and ended the night with a creme brûlée. All our food was soooo delicious. My only critics are that my steak was cooked more towards medium than medium rare but not worth asking it to be fixed but the flavor was still great. The creme brûlée was not set all the way so after the top layer it was soupy. As we were eating our meal the room we were in was starting to get very hot. My husband and I were starting to sweat and noticed it was above 80 degrees on the thermostat. I ordered a glass of ginger beer for my beverage. For my main entrée, I enjoyed the Texican burger with a mixture of sweet potato and regular French fries. The burger was juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. The fries were awesome. The ambiance was pretty chill, and the service was very responsive and professional. Just moved to the area and are trying out different restaurants and this has become one of our go-to spots. Love the gluten free options and we have never been disappointed by a meal. Their roasted brussel sprouts are to die for (and I usually don't eat brussel sprouts) and the same goes for their creamed corn. Their wine selection is ok (wish they had a few more WA wines ). We have had the whiskey pork tenderloin, several of the steaks, and the burger. They are almost always busy so we usually sit in the bar or order something to go. Bin 303 is a charming restaurant in Rockwall, and generally considered by locals to be at, it very near, the top of the selection list of fine dining in the area. Now, this is still Rockwall, so even at a place as nice as Bin 303 you won't commonly see ties, blazers or suits. Like every place in the city, casual attire is welcomed and worn, so expect to see a mix of people from the guy in flip flops and cargo shorts to someone in a tailored button down and everything in between. While generally thought of as a date night, meeting or special occasion restaurant, I'll mention this spot is actually also a terrific lunch location too, and they have some banging lunch deals worth checking out. On my most recent visit we called ahead and made a reservation a day prior, and our table was ready as expected at the exact minute of the reservation. The hostess and staff were prompt, courteous and helpful, assisting you as you navigate the maze of a house to get to your seat. The restaurant was always intimate, but with current Covid-19 restrictions, you really do feel like you lucked out just getting a table in here on a Friday night. The menu is fun. What I mean is that you won't be bored by the same old options you see at other steak houses and fine dining spots. Everything seems to have a twist of Texas on it, like jalapeño-lime ranch, chili walnuts, chipotle mayonnaise or gulf shrimp as just a few of the interesting items you see on the menu. Appetizers range from $8-$16 here and have selections like "Axis Deer Hummus" and "Bandera Quail Brochette". On this visit we prefer the quail, dips, and pork belly risotto fritters to start (pictured). Everything here is full of flavor and plated like they know you have Instagram loaded on your phone. You don't just get to enjoy how your food tastes, you get to enjoy how it looks too. The quail was amazing, wrapped and bacon and infused with the flavor of wood, and the dips included what is possibly the best guacamole I've ever had. Absolutely addictive. While we enjoyed our appetizers with company the wait staff took great care of us, with different members of the team dropping off items as they were ready, even drinks, you really felt that everyone was working together to make sure you had what you needed, but not before you needed it. Special points to our server for reading the table and knowing when to ask us questions and when to let us finish conversations. She never interrupted us, even once. That takes real skill. For my main I ordered the "Surf and Turf" which includes a 8-10oz Filet and 2 butter poached, cajun seasoned colossal tiger shrimp with bernaise sauce. Sides for steaks are a'la'carte, and they have a lot, but today I opted for my favorite the twice baked potato. The filet is something else. I'm not sure what trickery the chef uses to get the steak like this, but it was unbelievably juicy, tender and flavorful. Nothing was overwhelming, nothing was bland. It was apparent in every bite that the steak here was a notch better than just about anything else you can order over a table around here. The shrimp were so large, you could almost mistake them for baby lobster tails. Perfect. The sauce alongside them was great for both the shrimp, and the steak as well. Dinner went long, nearly 3 hours, as we were lost in conversation with friends. This is how the best dinners go. The server never rushed us, but rather seemed to encourage us, and let us dictate the speed of the dinner based around our own body language and observational assumption. I have to say again, this was really a pro server and she made the food even better by properly controlling its tempo. All together, it was yet another memorable dinner at Bin 303, nothing was off, wrong or amiss. Looking around, every table was full, you could hear laughter, you could see maskless smiles. Life almost seemed normal again. I would advise that this is a restaurant that could be made to fit various budgets, items like the Texican Burger come with fries and clocks in at a meager $12, while salads range from $16 to $27 (with steak) and premium angus steaks start around $37. The quality of everything here, including the service, is absolutely top notch. Bin 303 holds a special place in the local culture of not just being a terrific restaurant, but being a standard bearer and tentpole of Rockwall County cuisine. Everything in this place, from the owners to the building structure itself are meaningfully connection to Rockwall. You don't just feel like you're eating a great dinner, you feel like you're experiencing a part of what makes Rockwall such a special place to begin with. Highly Recommended. read more

Wonderful food the steaks are delicious. The service is outstanding, the management, I'm not so sure. The first time we ate was awesome! The food, service, and management was great. The second time the management made the bad decision to close a door that I came out of to visit the powder room and to get back to my table, I ask for help and received help with an attitude. The third time, I visited the restaurant, with my family we went at 3:30 PM and waited outside in their lovely courtyard. Here on Yelp it states that the restaurant opened at 4pm. At 3:45 PM, I saw a young lady headed in to work and told her we were excited to eat with them and see stated that we could come in to the bar but the kitchen would not begin cooking until 4:30pm. Remember, summer of 2022 has been extremely hot. We left and went to Wells Cattle Company a couple blocks away and was extremely happy with our hamburgers and hotdogs with homemade desserts. Yes, I will go back but the feeling toward the restaurant will have to heal... good food, good service and good management will be my hopeful outcome. They need only to get management to understand sometimes people come to their restaurant from very heartbreaking life experiences exhausted just needing to sit and eat a solid food meal. I was pretty reluctant to go here because the reviews are actually hit or miss but the place is so cute I had to try it. Sad to say I wish I hadn't. Unlike other posts our service was great. The food was actually a let down. I got the salmon with crab and caper sauce and the crab was spoiled. The waiter came to me after I took a bite and asked if it tasted funny because the crab wasn't right. He then took the plate away and brought back what I thought was a fresh piece of salmon; however, it was the same piece of salmon and the crab was just scraped off. Let's not mention the manager didn't come out to apologize, offer and excuse or anything. It's safe to say I won't be going back here again. To be fair my husband did get the standard filet (because they were out of the ribeye and not selling the Oscar filet) and it was absolutely delicious. read more

So I be heard a Lot about Bin 3030. Hubby and I decided To try it- as we were told they have " amazing steaks." Well, I want a steak. I don't want a lot of fancy buttt try Dr or complicated sauces. Cute little spot with decent food. Some minor complaints. We called multiple times to make a reservation for 4 people, but no one answered the phone. Because of this, we chose to eat early the next day at like 4:30 in the afternoon, hoping we could avoid the dinner rush. When we got there, there were several empty tables, but we still had to wait a while to be seated, which was a bit surprising. Service was ok once we were seated but nothing spectacular. There were a lot of staff standing around and not doing much but my water glass remained empty for most of my meal. My only other complaint is that my pork tenderloin came out very salty, but the rest of our food was yummy. I don't believe it is worth the price tag in my opinion though. Fine dining in Rockwall. Try the bourbon smash cocktail. Fun alternative to usual bourbon mixers. One of a few places serving Texas redfish and they do it amazing.
