Tried calling in an order and asked for the meat to be lean, the woman taking our order snapped that they had a line out the door and they would try to trim it but they might not be able to. When we asked if it would be easier for us to go into the location and order she snapped at us again, prompting us to hang up the phone. We order from here a couple times a month and like the food but if we're getting snapped on for a simple request, we take our business elsewhere, I'm sure that doesn't matter to the company but it matters to me when someone is so overwhelmed by their work that they start out rude and dismissive and increase to hostile. Stopped in on a Sunday morning right when they opened and ordered a Biggie Bucket of ribs for a family gathering. Best decision ever! So, if you're ever at the ballpark during a tournament, you HAVE to check out this awesome place I found! We walked in and were greeted super warmly right away great first impression. The menu is HUGE, so many choices! They have these amazing mac and cheese bowls brisket, pulled pork, OR jalapeno sausage. The sausage bowl isn't actually on the menu, but they have a picture by the ordering counter, so don't miss out! We got the jalapeno sausage mac and cheese seriously delicious, and a great portion size for only $8! We also tried the pulled pork mac and cheese, and that was fantastic too. And oh my gosh, the cornbread with butter? Forget about it pure heaven! The ribs were good, but could have been a little warmer and maybe a bit more fall-off-the-bone tender. They sell them by the piece, half slab, or whole slab plenty of options.The place itself is super clean and would be perfect for teams grabbing a bite after a game. Really the only place for some BBQ this side of town, A Mission BBQ it is not, more of a "fast food" of BBQ's. Nothing ever seems to be consistent but its OK. My biggest complaint is the food needs to be kept hotter. The food is not kept hot enough. The brisket is better chopped cuz sliced tends to be on the dry side. I decided to finally try this place for lunch and I took the drive over. It's in a small strip mall next to a bowling alley. The place is nice and clean on the inside with tables and booths and it has a drive through. It's got the common chain bbq theme of metal and wood. The staff was very friendly and took good care of me. I had high hopes for this place because I smelled smoke in the parking lot which means the bbq meat doesn't travel and it's smoked on spot. I ordered the 1/2 rack with two sides. I had Mac and cheese with loaded potato salad as my sides and with bbq I don't let the sides influence my review or stars because the sides don't match the bbq meat quality lots of times. The loaded potato salad was solid with nice chunks of bacon and firm potatoes that was nicely chilled. The Mac and cheese was mushy and no big cheese flavor at all and just like eating mush, wouldn't get that again. I got the 1/2 rack with no sauce because I want to see if the meat holds it own. The ribs actually had a very nice looking bark for a chain and smelled good. My first bite was like WOW the bark is tasty and seasoned nicely. The ribs had great texture with the tips left on, not the steamed to mushy meat but the slight chew that I like in rib meat. The ribs were meat wise ok and not the kind with very little meat on the bones and the meat came clean off the bones. The ribs were moist/tender with a nice smoke flavor that worked very well with this tasty bark. Overall the ribs were pretty good for a chain and I think that I like them better than that other chain in town that popped up a few years ago. I would definitely stop back for the ribs. read more

The absolute worst BBQ that I've ever had. I ordered the 3 meat dinner with double the sliced brisket, Polish sausage and I paid an extra $3 for 1 rib bone. First off the Polish had a snappy casing but the inside had the consistency of bologna, which was weird. The Rib was tender yet the taste was a little off. My sliced brisket was crumbly yet it was the best meat on the plate by far, and to be honest I would give that a 2 outta 5. Two sides came with dinner so I chose Mac and cheese and baked beans. Been here a few times. Once I ordered their party pack for 130. Says it feeds 8 to 10. Lol. Way more. I fed 20 with it. Everyone was very satisfied with the food. Nothing changed the next 2 times I was here. Tender, smoky brisket trimmed nicely so as there isn't too much fat. Nice tender pulled pork. Links are actually cheddar jalapeño links, not true hot links. Still good but... and the chicken was tasty, juicy and lightly smoked. Sauces are their own, original, a sweet hickory, or a hot. I recommend all three, depending on your tastes and meat choices. Baked beans were killer. Slaw was solid. Potato salad, I really wanted to like it, but just fell a little flat for me. Placed an on-line order at the Franklin, Wisconsin location. simple order: 3 sliders, potato salad, frito chili pie and a stacker which was supposed to be free with an on-line order of more than $20. (It was $21.45.) Entered the code for the free stacker in the Coupon/Promo code field and it was rejected as not available for the order. Text from Sims said to enter it at checkout. Couldn't find a field to enter it in. Picked up the order but they could do anything to credit the charge because it was an ON-LINE order. Took the order home and discovered the frito chili pie was missing. Drove back with the order and asked the guy to look at the order and the receipt. His response was is a slider missing. I said no, look at the top of the order. The frito chili pie is missing. He filled that part of the order and I left. By the time I got it home it was all cold. Unfortunately, the flavors were good but I will never go back to Billy Sims and won't recommend it to anybody. read more

I was really in the mood to have ribs. With it also being Cinco de Mayo, local places had suspended their smoked menus for more Mexican themed menu. We were pleasantly surprised at Billy Sims! The brisket sandwiches were outstanding ! Per one of the employees when I asked, the shredded was ordered more often, so we ordered them. Also had the ribs, which were very flavorful. No sauce was needed on either, they were so very tasty without. Hubby thought the mac and cheese wasn't that good; however, I thought it was fine. A child in the table area at the same time seemed to think it was awesome. We ate indoors, the tables, fountain section and areas were clean. There were more than enough napkins and utensils readily available. outside seating also an option. The 3 young men behind the counter seemed to work well as a team, and were attentive and helpful with our questions. A team member stepped out in the table area and checked with each table / patrons as to how things were and if they / we needed anything additional. There is such a wide variety of selection for various tastes, and the price was at least half of what we would have spent elsewhere. We WILL be going there again ! Highly recommend it! My 2 adult sons and I met for a Early Father's Day BBQ meal. Never been here before. We walked in and half there electricity was out. Didn't slow down Alex, Hannah and MiKayla. They just kept working with friendly smiles. Then all the power went out as we were ordering. The manager Bryan stepped in, I think to make sure everything went okay, and helped us also. All 3 of us ordered "The Heisman" WOW! Awesome! I have never had smoked bologna added to a brisket sandwich. Where has this been all my life?? Bryan even came out to our table to check on us. I ordered the same sandwich to go and asked for the baked beans. Bryan said he wasn't comfortable serving the beans since they had sat without being warm. I appreciate that! With only the emergency lights on, he said we could stay as long as we needed to. (We told him why we were meeting) the desert was even great! We will definitely go back here. Best ribs in the area! Perfectly done competition style with a little chew. Right amount of smoke, heat, and sweet and very meaty. Cole slaw was excellent too. I'll note that we've only tried the ribs which, along with brisket, should be the only two entrees worth reviewing as pulled pork and sausages are easier to do. will try the brisket next and maybe do another review. I have had both potato salads love them both, but lean toward the loaded potato salad, I have had the mac & cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans, all delicious. I recommend all of these items. I have not had the bologna yet, but when I was there you could smell it, and it smelled delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. Prices are mid-range.
