We are BBQ fans in general - I would probably choose BBQ over any other food, except sushi. We have been to a couple Mission BBQ's - the visit to the one on Bluemound was our first time there. Kids and hubby all ordered their faves and I tried a little of each. I love the turkey and brisket. I also enjoy the beans. Service is always pleasant. While we were eating, we were discussing taking a walk around target to work off our dinner. One of the employees heard us trying to figure out which was the closest Target and filled us in on which was not only the closest, but the nicest. Walls have lots of stuff to look at and read. This was the worst experience I have ever had with FOOD. I ordered their baby back ribs, and the ribs were over cooked and dry. The flavor of the ribs was just as bad as they looked. My wife had their sausage and that was just as bad. I feel like I wasted $42 on food that I wouldn't even feed my dogs. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food they provided me. When they showed me at the counter, it looked good, but when I got it home to eat it, I was in for a surprise. This was my one of many times eating Mission BBQ and will be the last. Came in close to closing and they still welcomed me in and let me get my to go order put together and head on out. The restaurant had a few patrons still dining in but was mostly empty. Very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and welcoming and excellent. My food was hot, pretty fresh, and they made sure I had extra sauces to go that I needed. Delicious dinner here!! We didn't know what we were in the mood for but happy we stopped here. We got the brisket sandwich combo and plate combo. Pretty pricey for two dinners but the quality was good. Very flavorful and juicy. Plus, they have over 8 different sauces available to jazz anything up more. Marlo was so friendly and retuned again, discussing what brought us here and explained where all of the other Mission BBQ's were located. The food was AMAZING. This was my first time trying this place, and let me just say... I will be back. I got the pulled pork and the kids' mac and cheese, and wow. The pulled pork? Perfect. The mac and cheese? So cheesy that it converted me--and I don't even like cheese. That's how good it was. 10/10, highly recommend. Ordering process was confusing. Doesn't show what comes with entrees. We had 4 in the party. Hubby ordered the 3 meat sampler; pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket. All rather dry and very lacking in flavor, especially for being a BBQ restaurant. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. Beans were almost "pasty" and sandwich had quite a bit of meat, but it was so bland and rather dry. I don't want to HAVE to douse my pulled pork with sauce to enjoy it. Since all Dickey's Barbecue locations closed in the greater Milwaukee area, I've had a barbecue void that's needed to be filled. Having never been to Mission BBQ before, I decided to try many things to see what I liked most. I ordered the three meat combo with pulled pork, moist brisket, and classic sausage for the meats and mac and cheese for the side along with a piece of cornbread. I also ordered the barbecue shrimp special, two spare ribs, and two baby back ribs. The shrimp was great. Decently sized and I liked the flavor of the specific marinade they used. Ditto for the rub on the spare ribs. It was so good that I didn't need to use barbecue sauce on it. I sampled each of the sauces at my table and I thought the smoky mountain was the best. The brisket and pulled pork were fine. Both meats tasted like they should, but they didn't wow me. I feel like I've had better smoked sausage elsewhere (like at Dickey's **insert sad face emoji**). The cornbread was on the dry side and the mac and cheese wasn't creamy like I'd hoped for. I wasn't a fan of the rub on the baby back ribs. I understand barbecue is expensive, but until you order half of the menu like I did, you might not truly see how quickly the cost adds up. The total for the items listed above was almost $45. For example, a single rib of either kind is around $2.50 each and the barbecue shrimp special, which is literally only eight pieces of shrimp with no sides, was $11. I thought the spare ribs and the shrimp were the best parts of the meal, but they're pricey if you get both and want sides to go with them. Hard to justify that more than once. read more

I absolutely LOVE Mission BBQ! We have been going there for a few years now and their service is always top notch! We are always greeted with a friendly hello as soon as we walk through the doors. The place is dedicated to veterans (my husband was in the Navy) and we love looking at all then photos. I decided to use Mission BBQ to cater our holiday party because I have only heard great things from a close friend who used them for a summer event and from my husband who used them for a bachelor party. I worked with Ashley and she was amazing to work with. The catering line was also very helpful with dates, delivery, and figuring out the perfect amount of food to order. I highly recommend giving their catering line a call if you need to discuss any catering needs. They were able to send over the allergen and gluten free menu which was extremely helpful. Basically at least 75% of the menu is gluten free which is a huge PLUS. Delivery is free if you order for 10+ people which is such a perk! Catering was also set up for me. Utensils, plastic plates, table cover, and serving tools were all provided. They make the process effortless which I really appreciated. I didn't think to order buns (bbq amateur here) and Ashley threw them in for me anyways. *Don't forget buns if you want to make sandwiches* My personal favorites were the pulled pork, jalapeno cheddar sausage, the baby back ribs, and the seasonal cheesy potatoes. Don't forget the Alabama white sauce. It is so unique and just the right amount of creaminess and vinegar. I can't recommend Mission BBQ enough for their catering. My spouse and I enjoyed Heart8 BBQ in Texas so much during our visit that we wanted to find someplace at least similar back home in Wisconsin. Mission BBQ is a pale facsimile, however it still has its merits. The menu covers all of the meaty favorites one would expect like pulled pork and chicken and Brisket. There was limited outdoor seating available. And it was fun to try out several barbecue sauces. I do not recommend the peach cobbler if one really knows and enjoys peach cobbler. It was made from a bread base, which was disappointing. Oddly, I ate a brisket sandwich, fries and peach cobbler in one sitting. I usually cannot finish a meal like that. Still, Mission BBQ is a decent fast food BBQ place with the look of a authentic barbecue joint. It is sort of the Cracker Barrel of BBQ joints. Took the food home and the moist brisket was extremely fatty and the chopped brisket was dry and seemed to be old. The last few times we went here the quality seems to not be there. Pretty good for chain BBQ. We had tried Mission in Kenosha and really liked it, so stopping here for lunch was a no-brainer. Employees here very extremely helpful and pleasant - they seem to really prioritize that as the Kenosha location was nice too! Food wise, everything is ala charge so you decide how much or little you want to eat. They said, I feel like pricing is VERY reasonable especially for the quality. They have all your BBQ standards - pork, brisket, chicken, sausage etc. I personally like their turkey which is lean but not at all dry - especially good with their Alabama White sauce. I've tried a few of their sides and would say they Mac and cheese is "good" but their cheesy potatoes are GREAT. If you happen to visit at a time when their seasonal dessert is blueberry cobbler, get it! I was sad that this location didn't have it but I did enjoy my food especially for the price (2 of us had meals, drinks and sides for about $25). Selected the brisket and pulled pork sandwich combos with beans and coleslaw to share with my significant other. There were 6 different sauces at the table that were all very tasty- especially the vinegar. Despite the fact that I forgot to photograph the food, we enjoyed it very much. The beans and brisket come highly recommended. At the strike of noon there was an announcement and everyone stood to sing the National Anthem. Mission honors those who serve each and every day and I was really impressed and moved by this gesture. My Grandfather served in World War 2 and my Uncle served in Korea. Yes it's a chain Bbq restaurant but I'm down because I'm a Bbq junkie so I will try any Bbq place. The place has not even been open for two weeks yet and the are a well oiled machine. I was promptly greeted and placed my order, while I waited another person pointed out the smokers and told me thier names. I was also told that the kitchen has no microwave and everything was made in house. I smelled smoke when I walked in which 9 of 10 times means it's good Bbq, no smoke smell in my past experiences the Bbq has not been very good so I have hi hopes. The menu has all the Bbq favorites and no options come with any sides except corn bread unless you make it a combo so basically you build your meal and pay accordingly. I opted for the half rack of the baby backs with Mac and cheese. For them being busy at lunch I had my food in about five minutes. The Bbq smells amazing by the way but I was going to be completely objective because it's a chain. The baby backs had a great looking bark first off which is a good sign. The meat was fall off the bone tender with that nice pink smoke ring. The meat was moist/tasty and not overly smokey so you can still taste the rub. The ribs stand on their own and don't need any sauces so I used some sauce and went naked trading off bites. I had the Kansas City Bbq sauce on the side which was sweet with a tangy finish that I liked. In past experiences with Bbq place the sides can be lacking compared to the good Bbq. The Mac and cheese was actually pretty good with the noodles not cooked to mush and it had a nice cheese flavor. The cheese was very creamy/thick and plentiful topped with bread crumbs. The ribs came with a piece of corn bread that had a good corn flavor that was fresh/moist, not the dry saw dust kind that you can't swallow. Overall they do a great job with the Bbq for a chain restaurant and I can't complain about anything because I have had bad Bbq from a lot of places in the past. I would definitely get the Bbq from this place again and I think it's goung to be a group work lunch stop. This Bbq chain is definitely going to challenge the others because the product is far better and more close to the independent Bbq places that do a great job at Bbq. read more

Mission BBQ is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped inside, I was hit with the incredible aroma of their smoker. The pulled pork and chicken are to die for, and don't even get me started on their assortment of sauces--pure perfection! Everything is fresh-made, no freezers or microwaves here! And shoutout to Arma, our hostess, for her infectious enthusiasm and dedication to the restaurant's mission of honoring our active duty and vets. You can always count on a hearty meal from Mission BBQ. We go to the one on Bluemound frequently. Husband loves the moist brisket. I normally get the two sampler with baby back ribs and moist brisket and our son orders a brisket sandwich. The meat comes with a corn bread. We normally also each get a side and get two orders of fries which are generously portioned to share between the 3 of us. Today husband decided to switch things up and ordered a salmon but after the cashier/service manager found out they ran out, they comped my husband's chicken replacement order and gave us a free dessert, cherry cheese cake. That wrapped our day up with a cherry on top ;) We highly recommend Mission BBQ especially the one on Bluemound road in brookfield. The place is clean, the staff is always friendly. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ but thought I'd give this place a try since I'm always looking for new places. The inside is nice, lots of things to look at. You walk up to the registers, look up at the menu, and order that way. Not a huge fan of that as I had no clue what I wanted. In my opinion, it makes me feel rushed so I just end up picking something I may not have if I had more time. I prefer sitting down with a menu to really see what they all have, although here the menu is pretty small. I ended up getting the pulled chicken with fries. Food was made pretty fast. The fries were good but a tad on the salty side, unfortunately the chicken was not hot, barely even warm so that was a bit disappointing. I tried the sauces provided on the table, after doing that I wondered, do they wipe these bottles off? I could've touched a bottle after some else had and then touched my food. I'm times like these, they should probably rethink that. Overall, my favorite would probably be the Texas Twang. All in all, it's not a bad place and if you're in to BBQ give it a shot.
