I've been here twice now, once for a Friday fish fry, and once for regular dinner. For the fish fry, we started out with calamari as our appetizer. It was very good, and the marinara it was served with added that extra little zing. For my meal, I got the Sampler, which is walleye, perch, and cod.It comes with tartar sauce, cole slaw, rye bread, and your choice of potatoes. I chose fries. I don't eat cole slaw, but the rest of the plate was delicious and very filling. The fishes were all breaded with the perfect amount and fried to a perfect golden brown. I, personally, would have preferred a bit more creamier tartar sauce, but it was good. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just like they should be. Hubs got the walleye plate with potato pancakes, but said that the fries were better. On our second visit, we went on a Saturday night. Hubs wanted the prime rib. I chose the Jaeger Schnitzel and had a Mary Pickford as my cocktail. Hubs said the cocktail was perfect, but I thought it was too heavy on the rum. It's made with Bacardi, not my favorite, and I thought I would taste more pineapple. The meal starts off with your choice of soup or salad, and we both chose the soup. It was tomato soup with chicken and rice tonight, but it does change daily. I'm not a fan of tomato soup, but this was delicious! The chiken and rice were both thoroughly cooked to a nice level of softness. The Jaeger Schnitzel (pork) was pounded thin and evenly breaded with a nice coating that formed a uniform crust. It was topped with a mushroom gravy, which I wish there had been just a little bit more of. Overall, it was very nice. The plate comes with a healthy side of red cabbage and spaetzle. Both were good, but Melanie L. nailed it....I couldn't place the herbal taste of the cabbage until my husband referred me to her review. It was definitely cloves. I didn't think it was heavy handed, but just enough that you could definitely taste it. As for the spaetzle, it could have used a little bit of salt. I let it soak up some of the juice from the cabbage to compensate, and that worked fine. When you order dinner, you get a small relish tray and a basket of rolls and breadsticks. I didn't eat much of that, because I didn't want to get filled up before my actual dinner arrived. That being said, I made it through, but I was STUFFED. If you are a big eater, you probably would have been fine, but I just can't eat a lot in one go. FYI, they do have boxes, if you need to take something home. I had never been to Wegman's, so I can't compare the two, but I can say that Ricky's is definitely doing something right. It has been busy on both of the nights I visited, but service was attentive, efficient, and the timing was excellent between dishes. Our servers were friendly and helpful with recomendations when asked. We will definitely be back. 129/2025

We were excited to try this new restaurant. Heard great things. The giant nostalgic bar takes over most of the first room when you walk in. Very historic building and plenty of seating space. Bathroom configuration was a little odd. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the prime rib, and it was absolutely wonderful. A little pricey, but with the economy the way it is, it's understandable.

Ask the Community - Ricky's Double Barrel

    Do they take Reservations?

Our waitress at a weekday lunch told us they take reservations every day except Fridays.

Is this place new? Because there was only 4 photos

This is the former Wegners St. Martins Inn. It is a very old building that has been updated by new owners.

I reviewed close to 30 places to find the perfect spot that could accommodate up to 150 people and check all the boxes we were looking for. They hit the mark on all. The second floor and roof top more than handled our group. The space was free with a set minimal spend. And they met the budget. It allowed for an amazing buffet with fantastic food. Allowed us to utilize audio and visual as well as have our requested raffle table and check in table for name tags and mini gifts and ability to use directory boards and more. They are simply amazing and I would highly recommend them for your next event. Mike the owner was awesome to work with and was top notch with communication and accommodating all of our specific needs without additional expenses. I was a tough requester and have to say they not only met but exceeded on all avenues. The staff also was amazing - shout out to Christian, Wes, and Gabi and Dom. Btw the games provided were the cherry on top. Dart board, ring toss, Hammerschlagen. All this and food and beverage handled in house . No extra coordination for beverage or catering. Simply a win across the board! I Highly recommend!! Christina

The also have a little game room to keep you entertained if you're feeling lucky and wanna play some games. I ordered the chicken pot pie but they were sold out that night. I'll have to check it out next time! So instead I ordered the burger at medium patty but it came out medium well. They had swapped it with my friend's who ordered no tomato and medium well. Medium well felt dry to me, next time will check the patty if it's don't correctly. French fries were good, crispy, and had a nice shape that looked like annually cut potato wedges but looked like the shape of fries They were out of other entrees that night, so definitely wanna come back to try what was sold out. The food came out quickly, didn't have to wait too long and it wasn't crowded.

The Brat Stop is the kind of place dive bar dreams are made of. Your options are to sit at the bar (recommended) or one of the booths in the cavernous restaurant areas. There are neon signs everywhere and they play great classic rock music. Our waitress was fantastic ... and older woman whose name should be 'Flo' and was right on the ball. The food is bar food ... Wisconsin comfort food. I had the cheese curds with dipping sauce, which were really good. I have never had fried cheese curds before so I have nothing to compare them to but I thought they were yummy. I had the BBQ brat with sauerkraut and German potato salad. All fantastic ... maybe a little overpriced for what you get ... but really good. I didn't necessarily leave feeling full for $20 but enjoyed my food. They have craft beer on draft from Wisconsin and Illinois. There is also a giant shop attached with local beer, local food products, apparel and of course a really long case full of Wisconsin cheese. Again ... overpriced but it saved me a stop at the Cheese Castle nearby. Overall, this place is the perfect stop off the highway, right in between Chicago and Milwaukee. There is also a stage and seating for bands. I really enjoy places like this. It's kind of like something out of a Tarrentino movie.

It's about $6 for the cocktail specials, so check the menu board. The best of these is the Long Island 52, which is a pretty standard one. It's about $6 for tacos, which are the small street style you can eat in a few bites. We got some of the Herbivore Tacos. Has black beans, roasted corn, and vegan versions of chorizo and sriracha aioli. It's about $12 for nachos. These are loaded with tons of toppings. For sure it's got a lot to choose from. It's located on Brink Street close to the Metra station. There's lots of things for vegans and vegetarians.

I was craving some wings and this has been a bookmark so I called to see if they were doing carry out and I heard people in the back ground, they opened up so I was told that I could come in for drinks and food. I headed over the next day for a beer and wings for take out. The place was not very full on the second day open for lunch but a guy was having a burger and frys on the end of the bar that looked good. The bar tender was very friendly and gave me my beer and menu, the menu is standard bar food. The place is your classic Wi bar, not a complete dive but not fancy. The bar is on the left as you walk in and the room to the right has hi tables, pool table is in the back. The menu was reasonable for wings at 8 for $7.50 with a dipping sauce which was perfect because that's enough for me. My to go wings looked and smelled good but that's all that was in the bag, no napkins or dipping sauce WTF because wings and dipping sauce is the whole point of wings. My hot buffalo wings were good with a nice heat and moist but not fresh wings, I didn't expect that after being closed for two months. I was really disappointed that I had no blue cheese dipping sauce for my wings because that's my favorite.
