This place was very good. Definitely somewhere we would go back to again. Husband ordered two of the 14 in pancakes. I think he regretted that instantly because they were huge. Daughter 1 had the dessert pancake which she said was good. Daughter 2 got the blueberry French cake. I got the catfish basket. All of it great. Service was fast. We arrived at a busy time and were told it was about a 30 minute wait. When they seated us it was right around that mark and the front of house staff was nice. My husband and I stopped there on a Thursday afternoon around 2:00 for a late lunch 2 weeks ago. 3 things: 1. My husband had to go into the eating area (after waiting 5 minutes) for someone to seat us. 2: the food was horrible, cold! The fried okra was slimy, yuck!! 3: we had to watch our waitress clean and sweep before she even checked on us and no refills! We barely touched our food and she didn't even ask how the food was. Thanksgiving meal was disgusting. Turkey was undercooked and tasted like dirty pocket change. Picture of meal was nothing like what you get. Server was not bathed. He had sweet potatoes on his forehead. Pumpkin pie was freezer burned. Booth was undersized for normal sized adults. Server forgot to bring food and brought desert first. We had dinner there the other day. There was a lengthy wait for the food as it was clear that they were understaffed and struggling to keep up. In fact, another nearby couple got tired of waiting and they just got up and left. Our server was Amber. After about a 40-45 minute wait, she dropped the food on our table and walked away. It was the classic "dump and run". Both my order and my wife's order was barely lukewarm. We should have sent it back but we're also tired of the long wait. Amber made sure not to return to return to our table until she was dropping off the check. She never checked back with us to see if everything was okay. I think that she knew the food had sat and was no longer hot. That is why she pulled the disappearing act. She never offered us drink refills either. If, and that is a big IF, we ever go back to Billy Gail's again, I WILL NOT accept her as our server. I did write on the check "food was lukewarm at best", so hopefully a manager will see that. I think you are better off eating there during breakfast time s that is when they are better staffed. read more

The portion are huge. The food was good. I had gails omelette but I wasn't too crazy about it because it gave me McDonald's folded egg vibe and I'm not a fan of that. My family ordered a variety of things, smoked wings, billion dollar bacon, French toast, bologna, monte cristo, the big pancake, biscuits and gravy. Literally everything was good. I recommend sharing with someone because there is no way a normal human can eat all of that food in one sitting. Service was spectacular. We tried Billy Gail's for the first time recently. Husband had catfish and I had fried chicken . It was all very good. They have yummy fried pies! So if you are into fried food then they can hook you up! They do have stuff that isn't fried but we didn't eat that! We will go back! read more

We had a two hour wait at Lamberts so searched and found Billy's on Yelp. Not much of a wait for a table. A longer wait for food BUT it was well worth it. Had the fried chicken (available on weekends only). It came hot and moist and delicious. Mashed pots were real potatoes. Home made cole slaw also delicious. This place was all the rage so we decided to try it on our way out of town. It's not a bad breakfast place but nothing spectacular either. The gimmick is 14 inch pancakes. These things are huge! They were quite good too. They warm up the syrup which is nice. The gravy was just okay. The biscuits were hard and eggs were...well...just eggs. The coffee is watery-grossness. The wait was only about 15 minutes. I would love to say that I was a fan of the food but it was too greasy and heavily salted. My kiddo did love her pancakes!
