Good food. Service was good. Large variety on menu. Nice atmosphere - pancakes are the real deal

Lived in Ozark for several years now and finally tried Billy Gail's. Kept seeing that pancake, and I like a good pancake. Sadly, it's nothing special. It was just okay. The hashbrowns could have been cooked a little more, but that is just my personal preference. Eggs were cooked just how I like them, coffee was basic. Boyfriend said his food was good overall. Nothing to write home about. The decor was interesting with all the signs. The servers were pleasant and friendly. We went around 930am on a Sunday and we had no wait for a table. People were waiting around 10am when we left.

Comimg into town we saw Billy Gail's right off our exit. We were eeady for breakfast and the daughter-in-law to be had not been. We had been to the Branson location. They didn't fail us. Food was delicious and portions huge. Decor is all sorts of old stuff and signs all over the walss and ceiling. Between us we got 1 biscuit and gravy, Monte Cristo, bacon/egg/chheese on sour dough and the Sloopy Chicken and Biscuits. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. The Monte Cristo had the sweet and salty vide. The biscuit nice and fluffy with excellent gravy. The combo of flavors in the sloopy chicken and biscuits was perfect. If you ask for hot sauce, rhey didn't seem to offer theor own as an option... ask for theirs. It's spicy garlic and it's amazing. You better go hungry for sure.

I'd give our experience at Billy Gail's a solid 4 stars. We were in our way home from Silver Dollar City and wanted a quick place to eat. We stopped in tonight (a Saturday evening), were seated right away, and ordered quickly. We all ordered Breakfast foods and it came out quickly, too. The food was delicious and holy moly, we were not prepared at how huge the pancake was for my son! The decor was wild, but definitely fit the theme. There weren't a ton of people there, but still quite a few and we had a good dining experience. The bathrooms were clean and actually smelled good. We'd eat here again.

I always liked the old place when Gail owned it....but...this place is being corporatized and (not) keep true to a quality product. It is disappointing to see how this new company is approaching the tradition of Billy Gail's. The atmosphere is really kinda neat. The place is kept clean and tidy. The service was even very good. But now for the food experience: - hash browns: a thinner cut and they look to be a nice change of hash brown. But, never cooked enough. And the hash browns have some weird rubbery type chew. They do not eat like a true fresh has brown. - sausage patty: Very low grade and lousy sausage they're using. - eggs: order medium....they came out with non-cooked egg whites. And the place wasn't even busy...to be so slammed. - chicken fried steak: certainly big enough portion. But I sure hope you like pepper and salt...as it has boatloads of both on the breading. I mean boatloads. - breakfast gravy: it's ok at best....but again....not anything special or more refined tasting. This place I'd say, is set up for the casual tourist in town and fleece a little money. This isn't something worth being a local and going to on a regular basis.

This was an interesting stop with friends. First, the decor is very unique and interesting. Our server was super friendly and quickly brought our drinks. The menu is largely breakfast items, it they do have lunch items as well as dinner. I settled on the patty melt with fries. Our table ordered one big pancake. The food arrived and was nice and hot. The patty melt wasn't anything special, in fact kind of bland. The fries were just basic frozen French fries. The pancake was nice and fluffy. Service remained great and my coffee kept getting refilled.

Wow, the food here is amazing! It's country, home cooking and the portions are enormous. Most of our plates were enough to be left overs for one or two meals.

Parking is easy. Plenty. Service is awesome. So friendly. Walked in and table was immediately available on a Sunday morning. Food is delicious. The biscuit and gravy was my favorite. The right consistency, flavorful, chunks of sausage. Delish! The eggs with sausage and hash brown was good. Plenty of flavor. Not greasy. Solid breakfast choice. Recommend.

Visiting the area and decided to try this place based on Yelp reviews. This is an interesting restaurant! There are 2 statues out front that are great for photo ops....Shoney' Big Boy and a Chicken. There is different merchandise for sale like shirts and mugs as you walk inside. There is plenty of seating but this place is hopping! I can see how there could easily be a wait here. The servers and service was friendly. The portions are huge! You could easily share a plate. The kids plates have adult size portions. The food is definitely comfort food. Everything we had was delicious!

Nice place for a meal with a country cafe type of vibe. They even have a small gift shop at the front (fyi - it's hard to avoid if you have kids). VERY large plates of food with reasonable pricing. We've eaten here a few times on our way home from Branson. I've ordered the grits breakfast every time and really enjoyed it. Their grits are a nice texture and I've upgraded mine with cheese. Hubby ordered the ham breakfast on our last visit and as you can see the ham steak was HUGE!!! He said the flavor was really good as well. Service has always been good, food has been good. I'd definately go back. I'd like to try the huge 14" pancake one day when I'm with a group that can share it with me :)

We loved this place. Portion sizes are HUGE. One pancake can feed 1-3 people easily. Even with the big portions the food is still really good. Our server Alair was super friendly and attentive. Will definitely comeback next time we're out this way!

Expect a wait during peak times...but the food it worth it! 1 lb. Mighty Tenderloin Sandwich with onion rings 3 Way Basket (2 pieces of catfish, 2 chicken tenders, 4 fried shrimp) with fries and fried okra Had about a 30 min wait, but they give you a buzzer and the wait didn't really seem that long. We were blessed with a nice day so we just waited outside the front door on a bench. I got the ring pieces at the end of the bag. The guy sitting at the next table got the last of the full rings... I can live with that. Lol Service was good and so was the food. HUGE portions and the prices were reasonable. Loved the seasoning in the tenderloin's breading!

We like coming here for comfort food or breakfast. Coffee isn't best but large pancakes make up for it.

I have visited this place several times now and always been impressed... until tonight…read more It was a Saturday night. It was 8pm, 2 hours before closing and an hour before the kitchen closed. We were promptly greeted and seated as always. We were then immediately greeted by the server, Austin, who made it very clear his mission was to get us in and out promptly. He immediately asks if we knew what we wanted to drink. Mind you we literally just sat down. I told him we would look at the menu but we'd like some bread and oil to start with. He came back for our drink order after just a minute or two and then immediately asked for our food order. Mind you we haven't even hit the 5-6 min mark yet. It was quite clear we were being rushed. So we hurried and gave him our food order. But because I was already perturbed, no drinks were ordered. Now mind you I almost always get a bottle or two of wine. (one of the main reasons we go there is the wine selection) Our server Austin returned after about five minutes with our food. Getting our food so quickly was a surprise. However, still no bread and oil so I reminded him. Which he admitted he forgot. The food was lukewarm at best and had no flavor. We waited for a few minutes for Austin to return so we could ask for salt and Pepper only for him "this time" to suddenly disappear. So I got up and asked the bartenders for salt and pepper. The food was bland and the serving size was half of what we usually get there. When Austin finally returned with the bread and oil, the bread was cold. No attempt at heating it or toasting it. It was literally a roll of French bread, cut into slices, and then some oil thrown in. We were hungry so we ate our dinners. Austin returned as soon as he saw we were done eating to take our plates and asked if we would like any desserts. I made a comment. I don't want any desserts if they taste like our dinner. He then grabbed our plates and walked away, staring at me the entire time. He then immediately brought our tab, which was $79 for two plates of half full pasta dishes, one iced tea and a cold French bread. I have been there several times before to where the service was outstanding, the food delicious, and the atmosphere great. But this was quite disheartening especially at being a Saturday night. I almost always order a bottle or two of wine plus an after dinner cocktail. Because of the way I was made to feel and how bad the food was. I decided not to stay and left almost immediately after my dinner. Especially since it was made so clear we weren't necessarily welcomed to stay. One thing I've always found kind of catchy about the place. Is they serve your water in old retired liquor glasses. Both glasses of water they brought still had the sticky residue left on them. Which was more of an agitation after the night we had. Again, overall, the previous experiences will allow me to go back again. But this experience needed to be heard.

Upon entering there are various eclectic gifts. Many are related to wine and cigars. Very nicely…read moredecorated. Wonderful atmosphere! Inside has a beautiful bar and tables to dine in. My sister and I dined outside which reminded me of a cafe on the street in Paris. We both ordered the salmon salad. It did take some time for our order to arrive but it was well worth it. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and flavorful. The waitress was very attentive with refills on iced tea and cold water in jars for the table. Everyone we came into contact with was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!
