So glad we read Yelp before choosing to eat dinner! What a Fantastic Choice!!! We had a party of 6 and while they were busy a group was just leaving so they immediately cleaned the table and sat us. The staff was extremely attentive to our table (as well as everyone else). My husband and I purchased cheeseburger baskets (mine with fries his with onion rings). The burgers are huge - I ate all mine - it was So delicious!!!! My girls tried the chili - yum, BBQ sandwich - daughter said meat was kinda tough, and grilled cheese - large thick bread, lots of cheese and yum!! (The baby ate from our plates). For dessert my husband and 1 girl ate the banana split, one had cherry vanilla Icecream scoop, one had hot fudge shake and I ordered the peanut butter shake. The food is up there with the best burgers I've ever had! Onion rings had a great batter on them. Very small dining area which can create a long wait for a table. We visited about 1pm and the joint was packed. Always a good sign! Unfortunately the owner told us their head cook was sick and didn't come in that day so the wait for our food was about an hour or so. This was a great find thanks to all the Yelpers before me. Excellent delicious thick juicy old fashioned burgers. I don't doubt they are the best in the area. The menu is simple one page for food and backside for desserts. They had a chalkboard of all the various flavors of fried pies they offer, two were sugar free. They were very busy the night we visited, all tables were full so we sat at the bar. Front row seat for all the action. There was one cook working the grill and the owner Don was prepping the orders. They had two servers and could have used one more. The food was ready quick and even though they were busy the servers were quick to refill drinks and checked in on us a few times. I had a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The burger was excellent with lots of bacon (mmmmm) the rings were a bit greasy but still tasty. They make milkshakes and malts the old fashioned way and could have had a dedicated shake maker as each shake takes time away from waiting on the tables. They have Diet Dr Pepper and can also add vanilla or other flavors to the drinks for a little extra. They take cash only and have an ATM on the other side of the door if needed. So old fashioned, they don't even accept credit cards. Apparently the 2.5% processing fee would bankrupt this small business. The zip lock bag of water on the door is to keep the flies out. I'm presuming it's holy water and the flies are possessed by Linda Blair. Typical 50's retro decor and a simple, easy to pick from menu. Nothing extra to stand out aside from fried pies. But then again, this is Missouri, it seems anything and everything is ran through a deep fryer... Even salad. The food was average "diner" food quality, found in every small town hamburger joint and the portions were "just right" sized, so Goldilocks would have been pleased. Food tastes are obviously subjective, but these places are always my favorite to eat at while traveling. The only reason they didn't get a 4 or 5 star review is because of their refusal to accept the technological advancements science has gifted to this world. Yesterday, I met up with family at Billy Bob's. It had been almost 20 years since I had Billy Bob's. It was as amazing as I remembered it. They were very accommodating to our large group of nine in their small dining room. If you want a true "Local" experience in Branson. This is one of the true Branson originals. We arrived just in time not to have to wait. But, I could see that people were having to wait for tables. Don't leave this place is WELL worth the wait. We were in Branson for a week and staying next door to Billy Bob's. I swear we went there at least three times during our 7 days! Everyone loved the malts & shakes but the burgers?!.... mmmmmm!!! Billy Bob's is likened to an old 50's type diner. It is very small and they only take cash. Every waitress was friendly and attentive, throughout all our visits. The burgers were delicious. Even though a friend and I really talked up going back and getting the footlong corndog, when it came down to it, we both ordered a burger again. Just a great big 'ol home cooked burger. They are very good people and have a love for the food they are serving. I had the cheeseburger & fries with a chocolate milkshake. My husband ordered a double-cheeseburger & fries. The cook said "You're going to have to take a nap after all that food" to my husband. And it was a lot of food! The burgers were thick and the fries were awesome. The food was fantastic. This was one of the most little out of the way hole in the wall places that is one of those most over-looked gems. Their shakes are fantastic. My husband had their pork tenderloin which was fantastic(or so he told me). We got an order of onion rings to share - they were crisp and flavorful. If you have a large party, try to drop by between mealtimes and expect to sit at the bar. Parking is an issue as well. All told though, great dining experience. WE had a wonderful experience here. It was a little cramped but that added to the experience getting to know your neighbors. Food was great. My burger and fries were made to order and tasted awesome. Briana was our server and she was a hoot. She had our table going the whole time. I think the locals thought she was serious, but she was going back and forth with my best friend's mom. This place is an absolute must if you're in Branson for a few days. The decor is fron the 50's and there's classic star memorabilia all over the walls. It's really cool. :) Their portions are very generous. Burgers are at least 1/3lb for singles and the shakes seem to be in 16 oz cups. When I came in during my first day in Branson, I hadn't eaten all day and I had been running around outside all day long, in addition to driving 2 hours to get to the city (I live in Rogers, AR. It's about 80 miles away). If I would have been just casually eating here for dinner, I would have taken at least half of my basket back to my hotel. Lol. The service is fantastic. The servers are very sweet and quick to get yoy what you need. Despite the place being packed, I got my burger in a reasonable time. Go to the register when you're ready to pay. The cheeseburgers are delicious beyond words. I prefer onion rings with my burgers and those are some of the best I've ever had. I haven't had the shakes yet (it's a portion thing. I would hate to waste). Maybe when I come with my boyfriend next time, I'll get some dessert and try the shakes. :D Some tips: Keep your eyes peeled. This place is attached to a gas station, so it's easy to miss. The parking lot is extremely steep on the side facing the highway, so take the side road and then pull in if you drive a car that's low to the ground. Juicy, delicious, perfectly cooked meat. A normal bun that is meant for holding and enjoying the insides, not testing your mouth's length. The shake and fries made our taste buds quite gleeful as well. When she asked us how our meal was as we paid, I wanted to grab her and dance around, loudly proclaiming that we'd struck gold. This was by far one of the best meals we had in Branson. Do NOT let the exterior of this building fool you. This place shares a building with a gas station which is what originally kept me from visiting here -- do not make the same mistake I did. An employee at our hotel told us about this place on our last visit so we finally decided to give it a try on this trip and we couldn't have been more surprised. The food was phenomenal. It was classic old-time diner food and it was wonderful. We both had bacon cheeseburgers and they were enormous, hand made patties. We also had an order of chili cheese fries and they were great the order was actually so big the two of us could not finish it. Thankfully we were able to be seated when we walked in - we arrived around 12 on a Sunday but the place quickly became busy with a wait. This is a small joint, maybe 15 tables? However our food arrived within 10-15 minutes of ordering. The staff was pleasant and checked in on our table several times to make sure we had what we needed.
