We were in town for a soccer tournament and our team decided to eat here. Located down town so there is plenty of free parking. It's a cute charming diner that has a lot of options on their menu. We had wings, burgers, grilled chicken and more! Everything was reasonable priced and the portions were great. The staff were all nice welcoming. Googled local places to eat that weren't chain or fast food places. Drove downtown . We both had the Hamburger steak One w cheese and one without cheese. Sides were a potato salad. On the sweet side. Turkey burger was very pricey! No sides no drink 12.00 and some change. The staff is hard working. Attentive and welcoming! But I did not understand the large amount charged for a basic frozen out of the box turkey burger. Very disappointing. Would you consider adding a small drink and a small bag of chips to that 12.00 order. Or if you made it from scratch and bigger would be wonderful. I like raw onions. Not grilled. ​ read more

(This was at the downtown Wilson location). Bill's Grill is still one of my favorite spots when I'm in my hometown. The food is always well seasoned and piping hot. Our server wasn't having a great day, but that happens sometimes. Normally our servers are very welcoming and attentive. For the most part Bill's Grill is great--their breakfasts are awesome, however I went today with $5 (all I had) ordered a chili cheese dog and told the server to keep the whole $5 as it was like $3.70 sumn....i tried to carry on a conversation with them as I sat at the counter but neither the smegol looking server or the tall wannabe instagram famous b***** said a word--probably bc I gave off homeless vibes, and I'm sure my friend Nelson Skinner would have been impressed if he were still with us. read more

One of the best burgers I've ever had! The receipt says "Will" waited on me. Well if it was, she was great. Pricie was perfect... A young man and his grandmother were sitting next to me and he said he enjoyed chocolate ice cream cones and she said German Chocolate cake...well, I got each what they liked on my way out without them knowing. We order their steaks every week or so but today they have put a new seasoning sort of crusty topping on the filet I ordered. It was very strongly flavored with liquid smoke. My husband's ribeye also had the same seasoning on it. It was like dehydrated onions with beef bouillon and liquid smoke. It was not good at all. I couldn't eat mine and half of the steak of the ribeye that my husband had was fat. Really disappointed. read more

Went there looking to get a chicken pastry just out of curiosity seeing one of the reviews. Being the day after a holiday they didn't make any. My curiosity and slight disappointment rose as with every phone call I heard, "No, we don't have any today." These must be great, if the next reviewer has one, please elaborate on what I missed out on. The up side? We ordered a fried porkchop sandwich, potato salad, cheeseburger steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, okra and it came with 2 little rolls. YUM! 2 homemade brownies (almost got just 1, glad we didn't so we didn't have to split)that were awesome, and 2 drinks. $22 and change. Tipped the girl at the registered just because she is so nice. We don't live around here, but I'd definitely try to get back. Limited inside seating, very casual/laid-back, not a huge menu, but that's my kind of place - I seek them out and love to support. read more

This is a great locals spot that has like 30 seats total and a drive through which was HOPPIN! I love hole in the wall places like this, so if you're delicate or need fancy this is not your spot. Onion Rings were delish, hush puppies also good, coleslaw not too creamy not too vinegary right up the middle. Wait people were all really nice. Fried Fish looked good, fried shrimp were small but tasty. I wouldnt drive outta my way for it, but its on the list of places to stop onthe way past wilson. read more

Hit Bill's Grill for the first time on the way to the OBX. As perfect a backroad Southern kitchen as I could ask for. Had the double cheeseburger "all the way" which was cheese, onion, a just enough amount of chili for flavor, no massive mess, and a hint of mustard that tied everything together perfectly. Flounder sandwich with slaw. Perfectly fried, tender and moist, with a lightly seasoned slaw that was just the right complement to the fish. Fried okra, side of creamed potatoes and gravy, all good. Of course we had to stop in on the way back! Had another awesome cheese burger. Added a bacon pimento cheese burger for good measure. Also delicious. Kids loved everything! The prices are ridiculous, an absolute steal, which is why I had two things each time. Fed a family of four for 25 bucks. Family run, cinder block, drive thru, A bit run down, but really looks exactly like you would want it to look. Police eating there the first time through and EMT's eating there the second time. Really friendly service. Food did take a little bit, but I wouldn't change a thing because everything is fresh made to order and absolutely delicious. Only complaint? OMG the fried okra! I have no pictures, but the hamburger steak and fried okra were so delicious, this place has the exact kind of country cookin that I was cravingI! I also had a side of the butter beans because they're in season. It's a little place off of an older country road,but it's super cute inside and has the absolute sweetest servers. By far our favorite grill in and around Wilson. This Little gem is just off I-795 in the town of Black Creek. The staff are friendly, and the food is always superb.
