Went to Bill's Grill today. Had pancakes, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and a side order of grits. My sister had a veggie omelet with home fries. Everythig was all good. We were well satisfied. As far as the service, it exceeded my expectations. Kelcie was our server and she made sure we were well taken care of...coffee topped off, spotless table, attentive and just all around sweet and accommodating. Give Bill's a try for breakfast. The atmosphere was nice. Very chill and relaxed. The server was nice but a little inattentive. We ordered our food and it took 40 minutes to arrive. The place was not busy and it felt a little ridiculous that it took 40 minutes for a chicken salad sandwich and a burger. The food was not good. The chicken salad sandwich was small and bland. I also found a small bone in it. The potato salad was so bad that I didn't eat more than 3 bites. It tasted like generic potato salad from a grocery store. I hate giving crappy reviews. This is someone's business that I imagine poured their life into. This place is so basic. The locals thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but i disagree. I've eaten there about 5-6 times now, so I gave them a shot. The food is o k. Nothing great, nothing stands out. The wait staff was rude most times we went, which is weird in small city full of really nice people. Bill's is somewhere I'd go if I was already downtown, needed to eat, and there were zero other options. I wouldn't drive any distance to eat there. I'd rather grab a nice pastry and coffee from Treat Yo'Self. Prices are fair. Menu is meat-heavy like most of Wilson. I like the Black Creek location better. The staff was darling. The food was pretty much the same (C+) but they had a hopping to go business and great attitudes. The attitude matters. read more

It's nasty , I'm a vegetarian... I ordered a black bean burger! It was the worst bean burger I have ever had... it was nasty! The service with stellar over the top!!! Surprisingly delicious food in a small town restaurant! Service prompt and very courteous, our party of 4 each ordered something different. Mine was a grilled pimento cheese sandwich, creamy and full of flavor! Everyone else thought their orders were good too, with my husband declaring that his cheeseburger was "the best $5 burger I've ever had." Highly recommend! read more

Had a great meal at Wilson location. Loaded chicken was a very tasty dish with bacon and special sauce. Mashed potatoes and gravy tasted home made. Salad was not the best. Fries were the best fries I've ever had. The service was very good and friendly. Not a long wait for home made,tasty lunch dish. No curb appeal;we hesitated. But inside was clean and accommodating. I come here often when I'm in Wilson, so that should speak for itself. The food is always hot, servers most often are on point and the desserts are just southern cooking at its best. Great place for a filling meal without breaking the bank. read more

We had a large party post soccer games. Everyone enjoyed the food. My "Farmhouse burger" was on point. Martins potato bun/ grilled onions are fire! Three young men who had just played soccer enjoyed everything. From rib eye, burgers, chicken sandwiches, fried okra, salad bar, sweet potato fries. One in our party did think the sweet tea was too sweet ( as mentioned in other reviews) and one loved it! We would definitely return. Food here was excellent!! PSA --- I would steer clear if no mask enforcement is something you are not okay with. The wait staff was so friendly and happy to serve us for brunch. The selections were plentiful and the prices are extremely affordable so you can try a little bit of everything. I'm a chicken wing lover and they have their recipe down to a T!! Highly recommend for diners on a budget that appreciate good home cooking! Oh, and per our server they are serving beer and wine now. We do hope to revisit the next time we are strolling in downtown Wilson. :) read more

Stopped by for breakfast for the first time and I will definitely be going back when in Wilson. The service was friendly and very nice. Was in town for the Whirligig Festival and wanted to step away from the squeeze of the crowd outside. Bill's was busy too, but offered seating at a clean table, a friendly staff, and really good inexpensive food. We both had bacon burgers with fries that were tasty as can be. Like a Yelp reviewer said, be patient, it takes a little time to cook good food! The burger was bigger than I expected and there were lots of fries. You really can't beat it for the price! My husband and I just moved to town and decided to give this place a try for breakfast today. We were not disappointed. I order the same thing at pretty much every breakfast place... Pancakes, sausage, home fries/hash browns, and black coffee. The food was on point! The pancakes were great and the home fries are some of the best I've had. The sausage was good and the coffee was just that good ole diner coffee that I love for some reason. My husband really enjoyed his food as well and was very pleasantly surprised by the generous portioned and well seasoned sausage link he got. The service was also great! The gal who served us was so friendly and attentive. She made us feel really welcomed and made our experience even better. Over all, it's a cute little place with great family friendly ambiance and great food! We will definitely be back. read more

A great local place. Service is always great, food is cooked to order and tasty, hubby loves the make your own salad bar. It's hard to find a good do it yourself salad bar, according to him. . They often have live music that are locals, not too loud, so it's enjoyable. Definitely recommend! read more

I have given Bill's a great review before but am so sorry to have to amend that. My family has looked forward to a nice breakfast biscuit takeout just about every week but in the past couple of months the food is just getting so poor compared to what it was. Sample this mornings bacon and cheese biscuit featuring undercooked bacon and a white doughy "biscuit" that was not cooked. Last week I had a biscuit burned on the bottom and not edible. Looks like its back to fast food for a while. read more

I have had it in Raleigh but hadn't noticed there was a location in Wilson. The closed at 9pm and I walked in around 8:30pm. Very well lit location. There was no wait and the staff were completing the closing actions. However, they were still welcoming and did not make it seem like I was a burden coming in this late. They took my order and answered any questions I had about the burgers. As they were cleaning, I decided that I would stay near the door to stay out of the way. When I say they were taking their time to clean - it was refreshing to know they take keeping a clean location for their customers to enjoy their food. It took about 20 mins to get my order complete (noted there was 4 burgers that needed to be prepared - so I wasn't upset at all) - meaning the food would be FRESH! All burgers were fresh with good flavor! It felt like you were eating something made with care. Everyone enjoyed their food and will definitely be back for more.

Parking is the biggest challenge and it is very limited. There are only a few spots in front of the diner and because the building is small the lot fills up quickly. I did see people parking near the neighboring convenience store but I was not sure about the rules there so I waited until a spot opened up. You may also need to look for street parking nearby if it is busy. Also do not block the side of the building because there is a drive through window. Once inside the atmosphere is welcoming and clean. There was a cute Christmas tree near the ordering area and the staff were warm friendly and attentive. The tables were very clean with checker style tablecloths. They also had a perfect health inspection score which stood out to me. For food I had the fried trout fried shrimp green beans and fries. Everything was very tasty and well seasoned. The only note is that the trout is not filleted so there were quite a few bones. A piece of white bread on the side would really help with that. My husband had the cheesesteak and fries and it was honestly one of the best cheesesteaks I have ever had. We shared plates and everything we tried was good no complaints. Drinks were also good. The cups are a bit small but refills are free so that balances it out. Since this is a diner and you are dining in they bring your food and beverages to your table. If you need a refill they will take care of it and bring it out to you. I would strongly recommend leaving a tip if you are paying with card or dropping some cash in the tip jar because they are hardworking and kind people. Overall I would give this place a 10 out of 10. It is a small quaint diner with great food great service and good energy. I will definitely be back and plan to try more items on the menu next time.

Seasoned just right and made you say hmmmm!! The shrimp were nicely seasoned and cooked. The fried okra was as good as any I've had. Seems like these folks do everything well. I was tempted by the desserts, but I resisted. There was a nice crowd at lunch time on a Tuesday ... I will definitely be back.

All of the entrees were great. My favorite had to be the fresh cut and fried potato slices- whatever you order, don't miss those! It's a banquet hall and catering business but it does a very brisk brunch business and there were three groups there who were celebrating special occasions, so it can accommodate groups of various sizes pretty easily.
