Breakfast for 3 on a Saturday morning. Fast, friendly and tasty. Very nice, from scratch biscuits and tasty country ham. Well done.

Great food and service. Tim, the owner is very approachable. Best thing ever was to put the grill in place.

Reverse tape two months, it was during my drive south to the Sarasota area of Florida, my current…read moreliving situation. I do not recall the signage upon the highways blue boards that tell of gas, food and lodging, those signs have changed over the years and seemingly mainly advertise only the big burger guys. I reckon it was just past 3:00am when I exited the interstate and after a quick loop de loop I got all excited to see the yellow and black sign of Waffle House. It's become a comforting place for me as redneck as that may sound - South Carolina kicked off that trend by way of late nights with a newly met hussie, breakfast with my son, or just me and my thoughts and newspapers. Maximum Overdrive rigs all around, some snooze some sleep some sort out their trip- I took a seat at a table in the rear. Coffee always is served quickly and my order never never really changes "All Star, pecan waffle, Sunnyside up with bacon, grits and extra butter". But the eggs came out rubbery and bouncy scrambled, I had thoughts of silky textures. As I played with it with my fork questioning my ability to resurrect them, I caught a movement outside and entering quickly through the double doors.A heavy coated screaming man entered. He was certainly unstable, ranting and raving and seemed quite insane. He wasn't the type to be packing a heater as I assessed him up and down while not looking up with my I Can Spot Danger NYC lense. I've dealt with many people in far worse areas than this wiry fellow, so I nonchalantly slipped my hand in my front right pocket and fitted into my brass knuckles while eating and reading and listening, but nothing really came if it and in minutes the police arrived on scene. It's true that my order was incorrect, it's true the early mornings live entertainment was less than Carnegie Hall material, but the politeness of the staff is much appreciated when your a stranger in a strange land, hungry and have been cranking out the miles by the hundreds.

Stopped here around 10:30 am on our way back from our granddaughter's gymnastics meet in Goldsboro…read more It was pretty full but we found one booth available. I ordered a Senior plate with (1) egg and bacon (extra crispy) and an unsweetened tea. It comes with grits or hashbrowns and toast automatically. The hubs ordered a waffle (lightly cooked), grits, sausage and a soda. Overall the food was good but my husband's sausage had an odd taste (according to him) and I put their whipped butter in my grits which ended up making my grits have an odd taste. For me the tea was very strong so much so that I asked for a half glass of water so I could mix it with the tea. Again none of this is a deal breaker but generally when we go to Waffle House the food is good diner food with no issues so we were a little surprised. Our servers name was Melissa and she was top notch. She asked us several times if we needed anything and was very accommodating when I asked for water. She was very professional and offered great customer service. The bathroom (womens) was really clean. Anyone that goes to Waffle House knows its a casual restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. The total for our bill was $22 before tax and tip.

(10/7/2023) Came through on the same road trip 8 years ago. Had forgotten we'd stopped here before…read more Sandwiches tasted about the same, if skimpier on the meat. Customer service is still exasperated with every customer who comes through. It looked like a lone person was manning the register and the drive-thru. Bathrooms were atrocious. Toilet paper holders broken, hand dryers broken, no paper towels, and filthy. Plenty of options for fueling up and travel plaza designed to get you in and back on the road easily.

This Arby's is part of the Pilot Center in Kenly, NC off of I-95 South…read more It was the anchor of the Center being on one side. Believe it or not, my bladder was NOT the cause for this stop. I was actually the sleeping passenger so when we stopped, Honey Hubby said since it was after 3 pm, time for a quick break for food and we learned on trip up, he was able to get more meat from Arby's. The place was relatively empty. Though there was dining area, chances are, people are picking up food and getting back on the road. Sign on door clearly states need for wearing masks inside (due to Covid), floor signs state 6' distancing. We ordered and I ordered #17 French Dip and Swiss, sandwich only. The masked cashier, behind the plexiglass, clarifies that I'd like the dip with it. I had water waiting for me in the car and with heavy holiday traffic, I don't need us to need multiple pit stops (I DID have us stop in VA already ). Honey orders Double Roast Beef and medium Sweet Potato Fries (which I dreamt of from trip up), and his soda. The condiment center was closed for obvious reasons; there were certain tables with signs to close them for usage so larger distance between tables. . Others masked customers were coming in to order and interestingly two separate people came to the front counter along the left side of the place where most who have placed orders would wait. Maybe they were trying to stay away from where Arby's flow into the rest of the Center. Honey was feeding our ride (Pilot gas) and I brought our order out. He was the one who noticed my dip wasn't in the bag so I went back in. Definitely busier but the employees were attentive as another asked how I could be helped and went off looking for the dip. . . Which another then went to help when he came up seeing I was standing there. The Cashier who had been busy taking orders from people who may have come in after seeing the bag brought out .. . Hey, truck pumping gas next to us made eye contact with my bag and was second in order line, must know where this special dip sauce is and gave instructions to the second guy. Ok, I'm glad I got the warm dip because the bread perfectly soaks it up and helps melt the Swiss cheese (which was already melted but my having to go back in caused it to solidify again) and roast beef. Bread was soft but not the perfect soft if it was by itself, so the dip helped. I mean, come on, this is a fast food joint so quite pleased. The aroma of the sweet potato fries were wonderful. I wish I ate them when they were still warm/hot. I do wonder why and how it gets that deep orange color though as it was quite sweet, thus the reason sweet is part of its name. Quick, fast service. Wish the mistake of leaving the dip out didn't happen but they responded well. . . Mental note to always check the order before leaving. Eat the food when it's warm and do get the french dip!
