The shake was perfect, thick and cold, and my french fries were fresh and hot, but had a tad too much salt. That would've still been ok - a bit of ketchup will take care of that - but the sin that was done to my SANDWICH was unforgivable. The bread was BURNT. That's right. Burnt. Black and crusty. On top it looked fine, which is why I didn't notice until we got home. The inside of the bread was disgusting. Maybe they left one side on the grill too long and thought I wouldn't notice until we were well away down the raid. The staff MUST have seen it when they smeared on the mustard so this was not a mistake they missed. Well, it was NOT edible AT ALL. We live 10 miles from the restaurant, and returning wasn't practical. There is no way we will ever eat at this particular store again. This is atypical of Hardee's., because their food is usually quite good at the area stores, and it's less-than-stellar customer service that is an ongoing issue (see my other reviews for this chain). Turns out it was what appeared to be frozen chicken tenders. Fries were cold. Ordered a dozen hush puppies and they all but 3 or 4 came over cooked. I would not have served. The BLT sandwich was fine and the accompanying fried okra were nothing special. The place itself was pretty odd in its layout. We will not return.

Here's why - The drive-through was fast The window/speaking person was both very clear and very pleasant. Her appearance was neat and clean. (No one wants to be served by a sloppy person, the thought is "how did the sloppy person take care of my food?") My burger was reasonable in size - could have been a little bigger, but more on that later... The french fries were hot, well-spiced and NOT oily - which is unusual these days. Everything was in the bag. Nothing forgotten. Well done, Wendy's in Goldsboro, well done. Burger size - so... Wendy's used to be the restaurant where the burger extended beyond the bun. Now, similar to other fast-food places, that burger has shrunk. Wendy's for decades was distinctive by having the bigger burger and had wonderfully witty ads about this. They were famous. It would be nice to see Wendy's be famous for that again. I would pay more for that.
