Get the S.O.S. Breakfast. It's biscuits and gravy with sausage and it's so good. I took half home and ate it later in the day and I still think about it.

Decided to visit here after visiting the train museum in Temple and we WERE NOT impressed. First off right after we walk in we notice a man sitting in the corner hacking and coughing that originally started to put us off to this place but we decided to give it a shot. My Wife and I got the Chicken Fried Steak which unfortunately turned out to be a frozen patty. I also got a baked potato which was the only fresh ingredient on my plate. We also got an order of onion rings for the table which were also frozen. My Mother in law got the Chicken Tenders which unfortunately were also frozen. My Father in law got the Pancakes which out of the entire meal was the only fresh thing besides my baked potato. Pretty much the only positive out of the whole visit was the waitress was pretty nice. Otherwise not a good visit. If you want good FRESH food I'd look elsewhere.

Was surprised there wasn't more of a crowd on a Saturday morning. We were looking of a diner that we could visit monthly as there's no Waffle House around. Bills hit the mark. Quick service, good food, good prices. We had two country breakfast (TOO much Food) but it was great! The blueberry Texas waffle was amazing! Our server was awesome too. We will be back. Cook washed his hands, waitress checked us out quickly, food was hot and fresh! Good find in temple.

Delicious food, prices and portions available 24 hours! I loved their cheeseburger especially the diced onions Everything tasted fresh. The service was fast and our waiter was very sweet she called everyone at the table "Honey". It reminded me of episode 6 of season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm when Richard Lewis calls his new girlfriend "honey" and she is put off- thinking he's moving too fast in their relationship. Later at lunch, Larry David suggests Richard start calling everyone "honey" in front of his girlfriend to downplay the premature honey. https://youtu.be/TP0d3lj5XcI I would recommend Bills Grill to anyone passing through or visiting Temple, TX

Well first, the place is inviting for people of a certain age as well as for young people with many decorations evocative of the hippie era. It's clean and very pleasant. The menu is ambitious, I think they try too hard to be cute. And though the service was excellent, it all came down to the food for me. I ordered the Birdie Trio. It sounded interesting. But too many of these restaurants trying to do chicken and waffles take the shortcut and use processed boneless chicken parts reformed to look like an actual natural piece. I was supposed to get a thigh on each waffle. The chicken vaguely resembled thighs. But the meat was white and very salty. Not good. Should I ever drop in again, I'll stick with a more traditional combination and maybe my extra will be better. And oh, that credit card machine is set at a default of about 22% tip and that's on top of tax. Watch out!

I had the chicken and waffles - nicely crisp chicken breast with very tasty waffles. My husband and granddaughter-in-law had the steak and eggs - with really good potatoes and onions; both were SO impressed with the flavor and the preparation. (I will be having this next time!). My grandson had 'Hong Kong' French toast, which I believe was made with Japanese milk bread and had berries and a custard. Also came with eggs and bacon. He could not speak highly enough about it. The portions are LARGE. We all took food home. I shared my plate with my great granddaughter (2 yrs) and still took food home! Honestly, we had booked another restaurant for the weekend of Mother's Day (day before) and we canceled that reservation so that we could go back to Farmers Commons! It's that good. Also, all the folks working when we were there were very sweet with my great granddaughter; we appreciated that. HIGHLY recommend for brunch. Now i want to try dinner too!

This was not only frustrating, but also embarrassing, especially since I had important guests with me. There was no clear explanation provided by a supervisor or manager, and the only response we received was a brief and not very sincere "sorry." A phone call ahead of time would have been the professional and respectful thing to do, rather than having us show up and then be told we would simply be placed on a waiting list. It really makes me question the purpose of making a reservation days in advance if it is not going to be honored. Fortunately, I was able to secure a last-minute table at Cheeves Brothers Steakhouse, but this situation was completely unacceptable and left a very poor impression. Do Better!!

We started the 2025 list and we are more than half-way through the list as of June 2026. Heading to the spots in West Texas takes some logistical planning, patience, and lots of gas for the drive from the Texas Gulf Coast. On our recent BBQ quest to West Texas,we drove home via Fort Worth from Amarillo with our eyes set on hitting one of the most consistent BBQ joints in Central Texas, Miller's Smokehouse in Belton, TX. This was our fourth time to visit Miller's. Unfortunately, Miller's Smokehouse had a surprise overnight fire late February 2026. That hasn't stopped them from feeding the community great food from a mobile trailer. They had an abbreviated menu of the BBQ staples like brisket, chicken, pulled pork, pork steaks, and St. Louis Style Ribs, and assorted sandwiches and sides. Generally, I'm a Texas Trinity traditionalist. But we he had our fill of brisket, ribs, and sausage on our West Texas journey. Instead, we jumped at the Smash Burgers! First time for us and they made a favorable impression. My wife had the Single Smash. My son and I had the Double Smash. Of course we had to try the tallow Fries. Wow! Homemade buns, oversized patties, cheese, with a smattering of pickles and burger sauce. We destroyed those burgers. Compliments to the kitchen staff cooking up some great food. The tallow Fries, seasoned with just the right amount of salt were a perfect crisp while being soft in the center. Don't cheat yourself - try the Fries. We arrived around noon and there was a very short line at that time. Parking is easy with ample parallel parking and free lots close by. The staff took good care of us. It was a bit warm but they had shaded picnic table seating with plenty of fly fans at the table to keep the critters from buzzing to nibble at your food. Before we left, we inquired about nearby restrooms to wash-up before we got back on the road. We were directed across the street to Muscovy Coffee Roasters across the street. It turns out that Muscovy is Miller's upscale sister coffee house that opened days before the February fire. I could not help but notice the spacious seating area that was packed. Nor the rich roasted coffee wafting through the air. They also serve an interesting menu of breakfast items and homemade Kolaches. Got to go back for coffee and Kolaches next time. By the way, the restrooms were Buc-ee's clean+. This is the fourth time we visited Miller's Smokehouse. Hat's off to the pitmasters and staff at Miller's Smokehouse for their perseverance. We'll be back after they open the revitalized restaurant. Hoping to meet Dusty the next time.
