What a master mechanic found was that someone had damaged a critical part of the cooling system, & never mentioned it. They cracked it, put a clamp on it, & connected another part incorrectly, causing the "small leak"...which "suddenly" occurred after my previous oil change on 8/28/25 here at "Speedy Lube"! Furthermore, he checked a few other things & noted that the OIL FILTER HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED! $90.00 for a "FULL SERVICE" oil change, & the receipt shows "2. Oil Filter Replaced". It gets worse: My right windshield wiper doesn't even touch the windshield, & they never recommended replacement: #18. on their list is "Wiper Blades: CHECKED." And coolant? Absolutely DRY! NO COOLANT at all! The Technicians' initials who did this oil change are Upper: DLK. Lower: JPS. My previous "full service oil change" was on 8/28/25, & the one before that was on 5/19/25: My point is this--NO ONE ELSE has BEEN "UNDER THE HOOD" for ANY SERVICE EXCEPT SPEEDY LUBE! I'm NEVER going back after discovering how they have been deceiving me--it's a shame. They aren't the same precision operation that I trusted for more than the last two years.

She lives in Livingston, had it towed to Yellowstone Motors. They were willing and able to replace the engine in a few weeks. My son owns his own company and purchased several vehicles from Billion as well. He had a horrible time with said service department, and wrote an awful but true review on Google. The next day Chris did a tie-back with my daughters car which made it to where only Billion could do the work. It took Billion over 7 months to fix it, oh, and they do NOT HAVE LONER CARS, so they take their time. Got there to pick it up, no AC. They forgot to charge the AC. Filled it, one week later no AC. They couldn't get it in for two weeks. Took it in. They told my daughter it was a broken line and would have to pay deductible AGAIN. They had to disconnect it when they changed engines. Tony said that was not true. We had another company look at it while waiting 2 weeks, so we knew it was their fault. Tony said to come get her car Billion would no longer work on her car. I've heard horrible stories about their sales side, but have not dealt with their service side before. Should have known. My daughter's car would not start and since the tow company told us it needed a new battery, we had it towed to Billion (our regular mechanic could not take it in that day). They took it on a Friday and called my daughter the following Monday, telling her that it needed a new $2500 starter (it's a 2019 Jeep with 60k miles). I called them back and told them we were pretty sure it just needed a battery, but they insisted it was the starter. We said we would like to get another opinion before doing the starter service and they said that we couldn't have the car taken to our mechanic until we paid them $254 - a classic scam artist move. What they failed to tell us was that they charged the battery while at the shop and the car was starting and running just fine after that. Because of their lie, we thought we had to have it towed to our mechanic. They knew all along that the car was running and didn't need to be towed. After we paid their blackmail fee to release our car we found out that they lied about it not running and didn't even tell the tow guy that the car could run - he found that out later. Our mechanic did not find an issue and said the car was starting and running just fine for him, it just needed a new battery. We did not realize the extent of the con job Billion had pulled until we saw the paperwork they left in the car (my mechanic saw it and gave it to us). It clearly stated all they had done was charge the battery and that the car was starting and running. Why didn't that get relayed in the phone call to my daughter, or in the follow up call with me? One reason - they wanted to rip us off for a new starter. We have disputed their $254 charge because they lied to us about what they did and their services were not what they claimed. Their operations manager called me to find out why I would dispute the charge. I explained how they lied about the service and cost us even more money with a second towing due to their lie, he became angry and stuck by his lying colleagues. Clearly he needs some customer service training. What a disgrace to Bozeman and all Montanans to have such a lying, criminal dealer in our area. Unbelievable behavior.

It's not very often you find a good reliable place to have your car serviced. I was concerned with me living in Denver and not being familiar with the various auto places in Bozeman. I surfed the web and found Bozeman Community Auto. It had great reviews. I had no choice but to try them. My daughter goes to Montana State in Bozeman and has my Jeep Wrangler. My daughter has had a couple of issues with her car. They fixed my daughter's car at a great price. Their technicians were very knowledgeable, explained exactly what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. Having worked on my Jeep Wrangler before, replacing the cam and rocker arms, I was very familiar with the types of issues that are common on the Jeep. Their assessment was right on! I highly recommend Bozeman Community Auto. Because of their popularity, they are busy. It will take a week or more to get your vehicle in. It's well worth the wait.
