Their drive through service is terrible. I ordered 3 meals at lunch time, 12:30. The young lady with big lashes at the window was quick to cut me off as soon as I requested condiments. After being generous enough to provide me with 4 ketchups and no utensils or napkins as requested. She quickly shut the window and did t give me my drinks. I had to go inside to get them. I asked for a manager. A young gentleman in a red polo shirt with kinda long hair appeared. I explained what happened. He could have cared less, explains the other employees attitudes. He seemed bothered by having to fill the drink order they forgot to give me in the first place. He handed the drinks and went on his way. No as much as a I'm sorry or anything else. Bill Miller fried fish is delicious. I know they only sell it on Friday during Lent but I wish it was on the menu all the time. The fish is very tender and flaky. It comes with two sides and an iced tea, all for just a little over thirteen dollars. Service and ambience are typical Bill Miller. I will definitely be getting the fish again. read more

Easter, 2024. This place has finally flunked my assessment of them. Ordered marble beef for tenderness, and I received "rubber". I visited at 4:18 pm. I had no care in that they were closing soon. Food is good, what bill millers needs to stop doing is asking if want something that comes with meal or don't want something and they do or don't give it to you anyways. They always ask if I want tortillas and hot sauce that come with the bill miller breakfast. Yes for tortillas no for hot sauce and they do the opposite. Bill Miller is highly capable BBQ. They cook all the meat in San Antonio and truck out to the stores. Unfortunately the brisket can get a little greasy. The chopped beef sandwich is one of my favorites, but unfortunately it's very greasy too. I like their vinegar cole slaw, hash brown potatoes, and pumpernickle bread. Their tea is interstellar (unsweet). The pecan pie is perfect. You can't go wrong with a family bag (brisket, 2 quarts of side, bread, onions, pickle, and sauce). They are great for holidays too. We get to the window to repeat my order to a RUDE witch that wouldn't let me talk. She was put out by having me ask her to repeat my order and was more annoyed when I asked for condiments. Out of the 2 poor boy meals and chicken tender meal, I got 1 package of pickles and onions, 4 napkins and 6 ketchups. Here is one of those franchises that continue to thrive because you get a lot of food for your buck. However, if you're looking for quality BBQ...drive on by. I had a rodeo plate. The taste of the smoked meat was bland and the sauce was sour. The beans were very salty. Potato salad was bland. The fries were soggy and cold. The chicken and brisket were so-so. This place is the "McDonald's" of the BBQ world. It's hit or miss, depending on the location. Portions are pretty hefty but the fries are abysmal. I don't have a problem with steak fries, but they should learn the technique of the double fry method to ensure crispy outside and tender inside. The seasoned outer coating of the chicken fried steak and chicken has a subtle sweet undertone that is incredibly off putting. Otherwise I think they could give Popeye's a run for their money. Asking for the right cut of meat makes a difference too. Center cut ribs will be meatier and not as dry. The pulled pork was good, too bad it was removed from the menu. read more

I found this Miller's to be lacking in the good food department. I've been to a couple of Miller's in San Antonio that were good, but I was very disappointed with this one. Myself and 3 family members stopped there and were sorry we did. The buns were dry and hard, the meat very hard and lots of fat on it. As far as the chicken tenders, there's not enough chicken on them to say you had any. Funny thing is that a Miller's employee that also ordered chicken tenders ahead of us received a large pile of nice tenders. Shouldn't the paying customers get at least as good as the employees? Stick to the ones in San Antonio and you'll probably be OK, but keep on going when it comes to the Lytle Miller's. No good! read more
