This is Truly" great BBQ. We stopped in for a sliced brisket sandwich... excellent service, great price and a great sandwich! The regular sandwich is loaded with tender, juicy, slices. Pickles and onions were provided on the side as well as extra sauce! Reasonably priced at $8.99 a sandwich, we had a nice picnic lunch. There is a little area that eat inside the grocery store but we took our sandwiches home! read more

This was some of the best HEB BBQ brisket I have ever had. I have eaten the BBQ at 3 other HEB'S and this location has been the best by far. Usually you know that you are going to get okay BBQ at these HEB locations, but this was a little step up. Pleasantly surprised. If through the area again, I would get BBQ here again. read more

Are you kidding me! Great bbq at a grocery store, with seating in the air conditioning! One more thing Texas does better than everyone else. Delish bbq, loved it. read more

Excelente sabor, precio y servicio. Convenientemente localizado a la entrada del supermercado

Portion wise-very good size. Taste-it's ok. Good bbq for the area. Especially when compared to Bill Millers. The one i tried was over salty and dry. They used way too much salt and bbq sauce to mask the dryness. I think selling okra would be a hit. read more

I can't believe this is some of the best barbecue and it's in a grocery store. The brisket is moist and so yummy.

The brisket and ribs are competition quality (dlicious) it's surprising to think this quality of real Texas BBQ. The bbq/deli manager (Paul) maintains a top quality service area inside a HEB store. read more

Went in to get dinner at 6:30 and they were out of meat. Not sure how a bbq restaurant (that closes @ 9:00) in a grocery store runs out of meat. Maybe the person working didn't want to prepare anymore food for the night? Very poor service and effort. read more

My last order was not very good. I wasn't sure I would get any BarBQ (door dash) as it was later in the evening but my order went through. I was very disappointed with what was delivered and passed as brisket. H‑E‑B has excellent food, employees and products. Someone dropped the ball on this one. read more

Absolutely the best ! The big guy that works here (Pedro) is always super nice and charismatic ! He deserves a raise and the upmost recognition honestly. The food here is off the charts, the brisket whether sliced, chopped, or in a sandwich is mouthwatering. Pulled pork is my absolute favorite, sandwiched or in the baked potato or nachos ! I love coming here read more

So funny story, a couple years back my sister is living in Texas. I go to visit and she tells me that she's going to take me to the best bbq in Austin. She took me to the Whole Foods. So when I came back to Texas, I was passing the HEB and stopped to get some bbq from their deli. Lemme tell you, it far exceeds the Whole Foods that we had. For grocery store bbq, I prefer this one. Though, I went to school in Texas for a while and I prefer that little shack outside of town that only has enough meat and if they sell out they close. read more

Best Brisket I've ever had. If I lived closer I'd probably eat here at least 3 times a week. I've tried the ribs also and they are very good as well. The cherry cobbler was on Point too. read more

We stoped here as we were on the way to Mission, Texas. For a restaurant inside of a grocery store it was decent. We both had lean brisket and it was lean and tender but a bit dry. The fatty cut is no doubt more moist. The rub seems be be pretty much all black pepper. I love black pepper and add it to most foods but this was really too much pepper. As I was leaving the store I saw another person ordering sliced brisket to go and he had the bark cut off, which was smart. The cornbread is nice - smokey and spicy, but the piece is too large. Also, it's pretty expensive for counter service. It was $25 for a 1 meat plate (probably 4 ounces of meat), lb of brisket, a piece of corn bread and 2 drinks. read more

All out of barbecue no meat whatsoever very unhappy with this place and it's not a restaurant it's HEB how do you run out of meat. No sorry no sign nothing to tell the customers they are out of a food. read more

Talk about a pleasant surprise! Who would've thought that the best brisket around is at HEB in Pleasanton? Their name couldn't be more accurate. When I took my first bite of the brisket I heard the angels sing. The flavor on the bark is outstanding. No sauce required becacause the brisket is seasoned perfectly. It is moist and flavor and melts in your mouth like butter. How is it possible that I have never heard of this place and why is it not at every HEB? I feel as though I have missed out because I could have been eating here so many times, prior to now. The macaroni and cheese is also really good. The sausage is really good. The potato salad was ok. However, the star for me is the moist brisket. You have to eat here. It is so good. There is no other choice. Get here now. You will be delighted you did. read more

I've seen a few H-E-B with a True Texas BBQ and I've been intrigued. I was in Pleasanton, Tx and craving BBQ. I saw True Texas and did not know of any other BBQ place around I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the 3-meat plate (in order to try multiple meats for research of course) that consisted of lean brisket, sausage and BBQ chicken breast. The plate comes with two sides, pickles, onions and bread. The sides I choose were potato salad and coleslaw. The brisket was a little fatty for lean brisket but had great crust and flavor. The sausage (pork/beef) was a little heavy on pepper. The chicken breast was moist and flavorful. The sides were so-so. I'm a fan of mustard/Mayo based potato salad and this one was primarily mayo based and used red potatoes. The coke slaw was mayo based, but not too creamy and not too dry. If you're into sauce with your BBQ there were options (Texas style and Sweet). Overall I'd try it again! read more

Wow! The pork ribs stole the show. They were perfectly cooked and perfectly delicious. I also ordered the moist brisket and it had a bit too much fat for my liking. I'll probably try the lean brisket next time. The beans were good and the coleslaw was okay. The ribs were 5 stars and the brisket was 3 stars, therefore I had to give it 4 stars. Well done HEB, you now have a new BBQ customer! read more

Words can not express how sad I am that every HEB does not have a smokehouse inside. All the meats are smoky, moist and seasoned perfectly. I love that it's not overly salty like all the other places in town. Don't believe me? Take a sample of they have some out or just ask any one of the friendly staff behind the counter! Skip all the other barbecue joints in town and come here. You'll be happy you did! If you need a place to sit, there's a seating area just for you! While you're at it, take a look around the rest of this newly renovated HEB. As all Texans truly believe, "HERE EVERYTHING'S BETTER." read more

Another reason why I love HEB! Picked up Brisket to take home, and I had a Turkey sandwich my husband had a baked potato loaded both were delicious! Brisket was moist and very good. Potato salad was ok, not my fav, but ok. read more

This was a pleasant discovery. Located inside a HEB which was a surprise. Both the food and counter service was excellent. Brisket was moist with a very good smokey flavor. Slaw was simple but quite tasty. Not drenched in sauce or dressing. Nice place to sit in the grocery store to enjoy the meal. This all at a reasonable price read more

Mediocre, mediocre, mediocre. I'm bummed I drove all the way out to Pleasanton to try it. I could have gone to Bill Miller and had better. Maybe it has high reviews because small town = minimal selection? read more

Best barbecue, sides, and service in town. The brisket was amazing and they have great big baked potatoes. The gentleman who helped us out, pedro, couldn't have been any more friendly. He really made our day! read more

I was very surprised with the brisket here, it was great. The first thing I tried was the Brisket Sandwich, it was amazing. Very juicy and filling. The price is amazing. The second time I went I couldn't decide what to get. The lady behind the counter was great and gave me some samples to help me decide. This time I tried the turkey and let me tell you, it was great and moist. I highly recommend this place. Price is great, food is great and service is amazing. read more

When stranded in Pleasonton, I can recommend this store and BBQ plate to eat and kill time. They have a nice dining section with plenty of seats and outlets for all mobile devices. I enjoyed their brisket and pull pork. The ribs were a tad bland for my taste. Their sides of charro beans was hot and good for a cold day. Plus the server was friendly and funny. read more

Driving back to Austin, definitely worth the detour. Seriously great brisket. Pulled pork was good. The sides were very good as well. Use the yelp check in app and get a free cobbler or pudding. read more

This is located inside HEB. I tried this with my mother who was visiting from out-of-state and really wanted "Texas" BBQ. We both got brisket- it was perfect. The sauces were good, too. I also got a large creamed corn. It rivaled Rudy's creamed corn. What was also nice was that they let us sample things before we bought, so we knew we would like what we were getting. read more

We loved the food. We got a two meat plate, a three meat plate and two Turkey sandwiches. The meats were moist and very flavorful. My boys devoured their sandwiches without a peep. read more

I wish all HEBs had the BBQ. Always fresh meats and sides. I recommend the loaded bake potato stuffed with brisket!

Never go grocery shopping when you're hungry, and this remodeled HEB makes it easy to satisfy your hunger when you enter. The food is all good, the brisket tender and juicy (with most of the fat trimmed away), and the ribs delicious. An out=of-the-way eating area makes it enjoyable. Just good barbecue in a convenient location. read more
