I went in last Saturday to check out the 2006 Ford Mustang. Fancy dealership from what I saw. Before my appointment I spoke with Ben I explained to him that I have credit issues and that I don't have a car so no trade in. I would be able to put $500 down on the car and I would need to finance. The vehicle was listed under 10,000 so I figured the payments would be within my budget. So I'd give it a shot. I was suppose to meet with Ivan. He was floating around his desk/showroom. I think I he spent all of 60 seconds with me. I just told him I don't have a car so I need one. I dealt with Dana. She is a nice girl and I don't blame her for my experience she was probably the middle person. And anything she said to me is probably what is told to her. I took the car for a test drive. Drove beautifully. They said my credit wasn't so good so I would probably need a co signer. Unless I wanted to buy a mini. If I heard them tell me I could buy a mini one more time I was gonna spit. I've had my heart on the Mustang for the past year. You notice the difference between the two cars their is no comparison. So after they told me I'd need a co signer I went home depressed. I'm middle aged have a half way decent job. Bad credit yeah but I've improved on a lot of things. If I could wait for my credit to improve I wouldn't be looking at cars. I went home an e-mailed Ben. I explained how Dana said I wouldn't be able to finance the car. And I was very disappointed because I had already told him I couldn't buy the car outright. Who does that?? So he went on to say that Ivan is very creative when it comes to financing and he and Dana would work on getting me into this Mustang. So on Weds I had a co signer. He contacted them with his information and he said Dana would call me in the morning. Well I heard from her Friday. This is the kicker folks. I understand when you have bad credit you have to expect to pay more for a down payment. Here's what they were going to do for me! $1,500 down and $440 a month for 36 months. That totals about $18,000.00 for a car that is listed for $9,440.00 amazing too how this car goes down $500 in price every two weeks. Because when I was their on Saturday it was going for $9,970. I was upset, takes a lot for that to happen to me. I'm a pretty composed person. Otherwise I would not be writing this review. I asked if she could talk to Ivan and try to get it to 48 months. She said she would. I told her I need a car I'm begging family to borrow cars just to get to work and back now. She asked if I was next to a computer. I told her yes. She said go to the website. Pick any car in the lot or A MINI (Me Spitting) and they would be able to get it for me!! I said from the beginning I didn't want one. If I'm going to spend money on a car I want it to be something I like (why don't they get that) After we hung up I texted Dana back and told her never mind. I don't have the down payment their asking even if they could get a 48 month deal. I told her I found the same car at another dealership. I felt like they get you down their and try to get you to buy one of their Mini Cooper. I even mentioned it to my niece on the drive up there. What a waste of time!!! I just bought my new Mini from Bill Jacobs in Naperville. The staff was great, Dana was awesome, very friendly and helpful. I had my tires indicate they were low and when I was able to get my car in the techs were about to leave. One volunteered to stay late and take care of my car. I will be back for any maintenance and when I'm ready for my next car...which I will definitely be sticking with Mini. read more

I had an issue with my car smoking from the engine and was able to make a same day appointment to bring it in. I was provided and complementary car for the time being. Kyle, my service advisor was very kind and helpful throughout the whole process. He kept me up to date and was even able to help me save some money on repairs. Excellent customer service. I recently purchased a vehicle from Bill Jacobs in April 2015 - I had been having engine problems with the car since November 2015. After several attempts of fixing the vehicle, the representatives at Bill Jacobs helped me work with Mini Corp. to get a replacement vehicle of the same value, and helping to keep my payments around the same price as well. Yesterday I spent hours at the dealership, starting with no service upon walk in. I asked about new and used and they basically said well you looked on line you tell me what you want. I wanted to know about interest rates of new vs used. I said show me what you have. Basically I spent half my time there looking up cars online. Decided on a Mini cooper and while at the sales persons desk another sales person said can I get those keys. I said I'm buying that car and she said its fine its between this one and the blue one for the other people. So we continued. While they are getting me a price on my trade they seriously sold the car out from under me. They didn't even negotiate the price so I was paying list already. The sales manager said it was a first come first serve basis and I hadn't signed on the dotted line. When I said there was no line to sign on he said, its not like your trade was going to make or break the deal. After they only offered me half of what my car was worth as a trade on Edmonds. The sales manager not only lost this sale but ALL our business not to mention the poor sales guy who lost a commission. It was THE worse car buying experience ever. Worst experience with after the sale customer service ever! I changed dealerships due to BillJacobs Mini being a closer distance, I will be going back to driving farther for service. I purchased a 2017 Clubman new and ordered a spare tire with it to be delivered with the car. I picked up the car and the box my spare was in was loaded in the trunk. Upon arriving home I opened the box the spare came in and lo and behold it was just the rim! No tire! I contacted the salesperson who's response was "oh my", not wanting to be an ass I asked for the correct size tire, so I could purchase one, what good is a spare rim with no tire? I was given the wrong size and the company I purchased it from will not take it back because it was mounted. All I wanted was for the dealer to buy me the correct size tire. No returned phone calls or emails....Ignore it and it will go away, Very childish immature dealership.... read more

I purchased my 2009 MINI Cooper Clubman S about 1 year ago next week. I have had nothing but a GREAT experience, Any warranty issues were taken care of promptly and the first time, no second trips needed. From my sales person Ricky Pinia, to my service representive Chris Dibenardo ( I think I spelled those names correctly ). I have had warranty work done, and some dents removed from other car doors bumping my car. It has been a great experience, no complaints, the loaner car was a Clubman S because I wanted it, it was clean inside and out !! When my Clubman S was ready for pick-up it was cleaned also !! Chris is the best service representive that I have EVER delt with, He is the one you want to work with at Bill Jacobs MINI. He listens to your problems and is curtious, and always greets you with a smile :-) By the way I'm not a teenager with no car buying experience I'm close to 50 !! I can't say enough good things about my experience at Bill Jacobs MINI. I will go back for my next MINI purchase in a few years. read more

Never ever buy a car from Bill Jacobs Mini Cooper in Naperville. This happened in September. I brought my car in for service under the maintenance warranty. I spent $1,050 on things that weren't covered. They didn't have a rental car like they said. I told them I needed one because I had a friend's funeral to go to that weekend. I wait at enterprise rent a car until they score me a jeep (was going to be a mini van but I got lucky). It takes days for the car to get in there. They call me Monday and tell me they have bad news. The car had been hit by one of their porters. They never tell me to come and see the damage, they do not file an accident report and they take it to a body shop of their choice without my consent. I'm told it needs a whole new hood. I show up unannounced the following morning and demand to be taken to my car to see the damage. I'm told its just the hood. I show up. The grill is smashed, the headlight is messed up, the hood is buckled and there's a scuff on the bumper. They refuse to do anything besides fix the vehicle. I ask for another car with no accident history or to be compensated for the depreciation of the vehicle (on an accident I didn't cause). They refuse. A week goes by and after contacting the owners daughter through email ......no answer besides they're going to fix it. The manager contacts me over a week later just offering the same. No "hey we will make it up to you" , "we will make this right" , "we want you as a customer" . They tell me the car won't depreciate because they didn't file an accident report (illegal). If the damage was over $1,500 they needed to file a report. It was $2,800. So I go to the police and get report. I have a admittance of guilt summary from the service department and an estimate from their body shop. I call corporate. They say give us three business days and we will make you an offer. A week goes by and I can't get a hold of the contact. I call last week and they say we're not going to do anything for you besides fix the vehicle. No customer service. They're arrogant, incompetent and a shady business. Instead of stepping up to the plate , they're defiant. They screwed up and colluded to hide the damage. No body work was done to my car (I wouldn't let them) , but when I picked it up it was washed. The scuff on the bumper was washed off. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE OR HAVE ONE SERVICED THERE. They think it's the wild west with no accountability. read more

Originally written 12/09/14 So disappointed with the Service Department. I dread even routine maintenance now with these guys. Yes, I got updates nightly during a week long service issue, but it was one contradiction after another. A small issue has turned into a two week argument. WORST COMMUNICATION SKILLS EVER! I seriously regret that we've spent so much time and money with this company. I'm doubtful now that service they say they've completed in the past was really done. Even simple requests in terms of which number to reach me on the weekend were messed up. Resulting in me having to call once again to get status and ask when my car would be ready on a Saturday night. Their solution to my frustration is "free detailing" which is only offered during the week in the opposite direction of my office -not helpful. Please stop offering freebies, follow through and do what you say you are going to do. Maybe even talk to each other before trying to reach out to the customer because clearly everyone there has a different version of the truth. Not happy! Updated: 01/10/2015 Bill Jacobs did refund me a significant service fee I paid, so I will give them credit for that. However II'm not my faith is totally restored.. we'll see. read more

I have purchased a car here and had service performed here several times. The car purchase in 2007 was fine. The people were nice and motivated. The service side has been on a steady decline since I first started getting service. In my most recent experience, I was charged $150 for a diagnostic that was either related to a warranty service or not necessary as the only service for which I paid was an oil change. Furthermore, over burdened service advisers do not keep you apprised what is being done or when your car will be complete (a big deal for those of us from out of town). I've encountered terse people over all of my recent visits and been let down at every turn. Besides the inexplicable over charge on my bill, my MINI was overfilled with oil by a third of a quart. I highly recommend finding another MINI dealer. My purchase is a huge regret now that I've experienced the after sales support. read more

After searching for weeks for a used Traverse with quad seating I found one on the lot at Bill Jacobs MINI. The car was exactly what I wanted as far as price/mileage also. I called to verify the car was still available. It was and that same day my husband and I drove an hour to buy the car. When we arrived we were ignored by the staff. Either we did not look like MINI people or I'm used to sales people flocking over. Finally a young man got up to talk to us. The sales person I had spoke with on the phone, Dana, was busy so the man got the car out and let us test drive it while we waited for Dana. The car was perfect. Before I countinue let me state that Dana could not have been nicer to us. Personable, down to earth, just a sweet girl. My biggest issue started in finance. The finance man acted as if we were dirt on his shoe. I could tell by the way he looked us over upon entering his office. I felt like since we were not buying a BMW or MINI we were not good enough. Isint a sale a sale? Just becasue you sit at a desk with your fancy suit on does not make you a better person. I questioned the vehicle not having gas in it and was informed since it was not a MINI/BMW certified used vehicle we were not entitled to a full tank. Really? That confirmed my thought that if you are not buying a BMW/MINI you are a second class citizen at this dealer. When we finally escaped his office we went to wait on the vehicle. When Dana saw us she asked, "was he nice to you" meaning the fianance person. Why would that question ever be necessary? We said yes to just move on. I obviously needed that specific car more then they needed/wanted my business. After we waited over an hour for the car to be cleaned we were on our way home. If Dana ever moved to another dealer I would bring her my business again. But I would not ever come back to Bill Jacobs. read more

I have been taking my 2010 Mini Cooper here for servicing for the past several years but will definitely not be coming back. My service experience had always been ok up to this point. I bought my 2010 Mini Cooper new from Bill Jacobs Mini in Naperville in late 2009. A few weeks ago my Mini had stalled out a couple of times while stopped at a red light and was also not accelerating properly (jerking and knocking). I brought the car in to the dealership in Naperville at my scheduled appointment time and was told no loner cars were available so I was sent to Enterprise down the street for a rental which was an extra hassle. Several days then went by without an update from my service advisor. I then called for an update and my advisor apologized for being off work the prior day. He indicated that my car needed a new chain belt because it was stretched but that someone would need to come out to approve the work from the warranty company since it was covered under my extended warranty. Several more days went by without any updates and when I called I was told by my advisor that "the warranty people are dragging their feet and they want to see records of prior servicing records". I could not understand why this could be so difficult as the only place I have ever taken my car for servicing was at this same dealership. Finally after a total of over two weeks (15 days total), I called my service advisor and he again apologized for being off work the prior day. He then indicated that my car was ready to go and that it did not need a new chain belt after all. All it needed was more oil. He said that after more oil was added, it was tested and everything was working fine. So after the dealership had my car for 15 days it was determined that all it needed was more oil. After I was able to get my car back I noticed it still had the same symptoms - jerking and knocking upon acceleration. I then took my Mini to the dealership in Schaumburg. The difference in service was like night and day. They quickly diagnosed the car as needing a new ignition coil. After doing some of my own research on ignition coils the symptoms definitely seemed similar those I was experiencing with my car. I also learned that when an ignition coil goes bad it can be very dangerous as the car can suddenly stop running even when traveling at a high rate of speed. While my car was still at the dealership in Naperville, my boyfriend took his car there for servicing. When he dropped it off he was told it would probably be a few days until they could get to it. It has now been over one week and he has not received any updates at all. I'm not sure what is going on with the service department at Bill Jacobs Mini but I would suggest that anyone think twice about taking their car there for servicing. It is only a 15 minute drive from my job but I will now be going to Patrick Mini in Schaumburg from now on. read more

I had an appointment for a Thursday which was cancelled because the salesman left early. Was supposed to come back the next day but was called again to cancel because the same salesman supposedly had a 6:45 doctors appointment with a pediatrician on a Friday night. Please... I am a doctor and no pediatrician sees patients at 6:45 on a Friday night!! I went there anyway thinking I would just see another salesman. I got there at 7:30 and lo and behold that salesman was there!! I went there with checkbook in hand!! I had seen a car on their website and was interested in buying it. Took it for a test drive and after coming back asked how much they would be willing to take off the asking price. Was quickly told "nothing". I said I had never heard of any dealership not doing some kind of negotiating. He shook my hand and walked away. I then asked if I could talk to a manager. Went into the managers office and was told the same thing. Would not budge a penny and was told "good luck in my search". I told him that I was ready to buy a car tonight and you are going to let me walk out without a sale. He said "yes"!!! Wow, some customer service! I have never been treated so rudely at a car dealership in my life. I will NEVER go back there again nor will I ever refer anyone I know to buy there. read more

I have to say I'm disappointed with the service department. The first time I took it in and it broke down two weeks later for the same issue, that is not after leaving paying 1200 dollars for new tires. I had some issues with the way my car was running this third time and decided to give it another chance and the total for the services I needed two different types of flushes not covered by the warranty of course was over 500 dollars. At the end of the day if my car needs these flushes that's fine but when I take my car in to be fixed I expect to leave with it fixed, and not being told we know what you're talking about but it's not enough to be diagnosed. I feel very patronized as a woman, and easily taken advantage of on the up selling because I do not know a lot about cars, and do not recommend going there whatsoever. Just moving to the state I wish I would have read some reviews prior to going over and would have saved my self the headache. read more

One month ago I bought a 2003 beetle for my 16 yr. old that Bill Jacobs had for sale. My husband I have bought 4 brand new cars in the last 5 years all from another dealership in Tinley Park but they did not have any Beetles so I looked elsewhere. Almost right away the drivers window wasn't going all the way up and I was told by the sales manager that the window was dry and just needed to be lubed. It was actually that the front window regulator had to be replaced. I found that out because two weeks after I bought the vehicle the engine light came on (makes me wonder if there was a previous engine light indicator that had been cleared to appear all was well) When I took the car to get checked out I needed a catalytic converter, front strut mounts and bearings and a turbo recirculation valve besides the window regulator. Well the extended warranty that I purchased gave me piece of mind until I was told that the catalytic converter wasn't covered and the strut mounts were covered but not going to be taken care of because it was a preexisting condition. Also they declined to fix the window because I had issues too soon after purchasing the vehicle. This was just so frustrating and stressful. I argued with the warranty company and they agreed to take care of the window but not the strut mounts. The sales person Dana from Bill Jacobs called to see how everything was going and when I told her the mess I was dealing with she offered to get the car into service to see about the strut mounts. So I agreed and service called to get my car in and they offered me alternate transportation. I thought that was nice but it turned out to be an Enterprise rental and I was transported across the street to fill out paperwork and have $50 taken off my debit card as a deposit. I am used to the dealership in Tinley loaning me a dealership courtesy car so that is what I expected. Service should not use the term alternate transportation and then surprise the customer with a rental car agreement. The next day service told me the dealership would take care of replacing the strut mounts that the warranty refused to cover and also replace a brake light that was out. That was a relief because having never bought a used car before I just figured the dealership would just say it's my problem. My relief was short-lived because I was then also told that my lovely rental had to be returned the next day or I would be charged rental fees until it was returned. Well I had to work at 2pm the next day and pleaded that my car needed to be ready early. When I arrived at the dealership after dropping the rental off my car was still not ready and Zeline from service said they noticed the wiper blade was a bit bent so she sent a tech to get a part. When they got back and fixed the blade I was only going to be 20 minutes late to work but then they sent the car for a car wash! On any other day I would have been so pleased with the extra attention but I was truly in a hurry and in pain because all the stress I was dealing with brought on a lovely bout of shingles! I just want to say Zeline in service was an Angel and I appreciate her professionalism. read more
