Lots of fun here with good food and drinks. The flaming hot Cheeto fried cheese is my fav app. Pineapple margarita is very good without being too sweet. Last time we came we had an hour wait but they have free mini golf and corn hole while waiting which is super nice so it didn't even feel like a wait!

First timers here. We had heard of the place in Springfield, and our 12 year old finally got us to go in for a couple hours. Great experience, super nice atmosphere, friendly staff. You have your own waiter/waitress at your booth, who caters to your every need. The food is superb. Comfy outdoor couch, and interactive tv/range deal for your hitting needs. Our 7 year old even enjoyed it! Will definitely be back!

This place is awesome, I'm giving it 4 star's instead of five because of the heat!! I love hot weather but the beer only stays cold for a few minutes in the heat they need to find a way to keep your drinks cold while it's your turn. I had to drink half of my beers warm (yuck) But food was good and fun was great, expecially if you can laugh at yourself!

Loved big shots!! I got a big salad and pineapple margarita, which were both super good! It's a great atmosphere for a good time and great food. Highly recommend!

I only have good things to say about big shots. We decided to book for an hour, it was $50 for two of us, which wasn't awful! The drinks were AMAZING and as well as the food, a lot fancier than what was expected! We also had the pretzel bites as wells as the stuffed tater tots, which were to die for. The food bill WAS pricey, it ran to around $46 for two drinks and two appetizers, but I have to say it would be well worth it for a rare occasion! The staff were amazing and our waitress was so sweet. Definitely recommend going here if you have the time and money!

A lot of fun. Prices on beer are very high for springfield mo. Other places are 3-4 dollars while happy hour is $5. For a 12oz glass.

LOUD AF on a Tuesday night with incredibly slow service…read more I like to eat in local places while we're on the road. Read about this place being historic with a beautiful bar and lovely tin ceiling. And that is all true. Walked in and could not believe how loud the single singer with an acoustic guitar was. There was a sound engineer, working a board, so he must've thought that level was OK. But you could not have a conversation at all. I was wishing for earplugs. When we first stepped in, I considered just looking at the carved mahogany bar and going somewhere else. But, we figured it should be fast and we could endure the cacophony for a short time. We were so wrong about it being fast. There was only one wait staff working that night, and she was also behind the bar. When she finally moseys over to us, she admitted she had forgotten all about us. She then took our drink order, and the drinks came quickly. But then she literally never came back to take a food order. Watched her go to all the other tables, watched her clean off the bar, watched her answer a phone call for a takeout order, and then I finally went up to the bar and asked her if we could put in a food order. Once the food was ordered it came out quickly. My husband's smashburger and candied pecan salad were both really delicious. I am a sucker for a local food item whenever I see it on the menu, and I made the mistake of ordering the cashew chicken poutine. The cashew sauce had zero flavor and was just overly salty. The chicken was fried very tough. At least the cheese curds were good. But I barely ate any of it. Nothing but regret about this choice.

The inside looks like a dive bar and a basic cafe combined. Meager looking tables, chairs and booths with second rate condiments on the tables (who's ever heard of Red Gold Ketchup). The waitresses are pleasant. If you are looking to fill up on basic bar food then perhaps you will enjoy and be the type to give a 5 star rating like others have. For me, it's a 2 star rating. My meal, two pieces of white meat, coleslaw, mash potatoes and Texas Toast for $9.95! Large portions of delicious juicy fried chicken golden brown, buttery creamy mash potatoes with gravy from scratch and cream coleslaw with just enough sweetness. The meal was so large I ended up bringing half of my chicken home. Husband had the pork tenderloin. It was double the size of most tenderloins in most restaurants. The condiments, Red Gold has been around from the 1940's, and family owned. Information on this U.S. business is some of the portion used from purchasing Red Gold products is given to support the hungry, disaster relief and the U.S. military. The restaurant looks like it use to be a bar with a pool table at one time. There is still the divider on the bar a section for the waitresses, large mirror behind the bar on the wall, the ceiling and the old beer light towards the back lead me to believe this. We were looking for a nice looking atmosphere restaurant. We were looking for a place with good food. The staff was friendly, prices were very reasonable. These days you can't find a restaurant with great, large down home cooking for two plus drinks for under$35. We will be back, maybe for the walleye special on Wednesday.

Enter The Grotto west coast food. Since I lived on the west coast for 40 years I thought it was appropriate that I come to judge the West coast authenticity. This place is awesome. My friend had a Baja bowl that looked and smelled divine and I had the steak Gorgonzola salad, the meat portion was huge and the candied pecans were delicious. I might even bring my super judgmental west coast rude family here since I think even they would be pleased at how delicious the food was. We sat in a comfy booth and loved every bite of our meal, the balsamic vinaigrette was the perfect complement to the savory steak and sweet pecans. I can't wait to go back to the grotto

The location itself was very clean and staff were going through table by table and cleaning everything (I was shocked because it was already very clean).
