The wedge salad with New York strip was the perfect sized meal. My wife had the grilled Chicken Sandwich with apricot, lettuce, grilled red onions, pesto and loaded fingerling potatoes . We shared a Bo le of Merlot and had a great evening. Our waiter Louie was attentive and a conscientious high end server. I wanted a light meal on this very hot day after enjoying a day at Universal Studios. I ordered asparagus soup. My husband ordered the same. We came with a big group. The soup was presented with a baby spoon. That was odd, just letting it get cold quick, I thought. This soup was awful. I love asparagus and I love soup. I have eaten here a number of times at this restaurant, so i thought it was a good idea. I told the waiter I did not like it a bit. he did not seem to care. I added as many things as I could from other people's meals but it did not help. I appreciated the spices in it just there was so little of it. It tasted like I was drinking a raw asparagus spear. I did not want to tell anyone at the table as they all enjoyed the steaks. We paid for the table and ate a bit of bread. Since it was a big table, the tip was taken automatically. Otherwise, I would have had a moment with the waiter. I told him we needed bigger spoons, and he said there were none. I told him we did not like the soup. He did not pay any attention. After looking at the menu this new place in city walk looked very promising.. we messed up our reservations at another restaurant and needed to find a place fast on a busy night and we first came here and guess what.. the hostess made room for us at the bar.. amazing! So the place is decorated amazing the wood fire with the steaks was mesmerizing, we sat at the bar and was able to order easily off of the full menu. We stopped in here at 10PM without a reservation. The guy working the front was fantastic and said since it was only 2 of us that he could squeeze us in. We waited about 7 minutes for a table. Once seated we were so excited because we could see the kitchen and the grilling area. This was super neat to see the wood fire they use to cook on. Let me just tell you that the kitchen staff was on it. We saw nothing but professionalism and teamwork in there. I would assume they had a super busy dinner rush. We started with the cheese fondue and then shared a cheeseburger. The cheese fondue came out on a beautiful platter with cauliflower, carrots, peppers and bread for dipping. The carrots were the most amazing flavored carrots I have ever had. I would order a side of carrots and the cauliflower roasted next time. We were not impressed with the fondue. It was lumpy and not what I expected for cheese fondue. But, like I said the veggies that came with it were awesome. The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection. I went to Bigfire American grill after leaving the amusement park. It was the worst experience I ever had while at a Universal Orlando ProperTm!!! We checked-in only to be seated several minutes after another party of 2 arrived 10 mins after we did. Once seated, we were placed under the air vent which was blowing extremely cold air. It then took more than 10 minutes to be greeted by our sever. She greeted us with an excuse for having us wait. We then had to request water and menu's. When she came back we asked to be placed at a table away from the air flow. Once we ordered, it took another 15-20 mins. to receive our meals. The bread was somehow a crouton on one side and bread on the other. The meat though? An assault. Pretty sure they went to the nearest house fire and asked if they could just throw their steaks in there. No flavor other than burning house. The scallops dish is the best you'll find in orlando (we've had our fair share of scallops) & its all thanks to that crispy bread and the sweet sauce. They smoke their whiskey glasses in front of you and if you can afford it they have the largest collection of Pappys! The steak and the lamb were fantastic and when choosing a side GET THE SALAD! Where do I begin?? I would not go back. service was slow and mediocre. The cheese fondue was cold velveeta type with soggy vegetables, crackers and 2 pieces of bread. We had to send back a steak that was a hockey puck in nature. The jambalaya was over seasoned and mostly rice. We couldn't get our knife through the over cooked chicken sandwich. Just finished a great dinner at BigFire! My server Juan was amazing, and was very attentive. My view was also amazing! Definitely recommend dining on the second floor. :) I got the bread for $4, grilled pork chop for $25, and the blackberry citrus old fashioned with minor case whiskey for $17. The bread service was great, and the butter & jam really go well together. The pork chop was good, though was really most flavorful with the butter from the bread service. I might not get the smashed potatoes again, since they were a little bland. The salad, however, was awesome! Although a little pricey, the old fashioned I had on recommendation from the server was really smooth and flavorful. I'll definitely consider stopping by again when I need dinner in Citywalk! :) read more

The food ambience and service were impeccable. Our server was Ali. He was great. Attentive and educated about the menu. We ordered the mussels and chicken flatbread as appetizers. Both were outstanding. I had the special which was whitefish my husband the scallops. I highly recommend both. Kids ate normal kids menu items however the Mac n cheese on the kids menu was delicious not your regular craft Mac n cheese. Make a reservation, that should go without saying. Even with a reservation, we were not shown our table until 20 minutes after our reservation time. Our waiter was fantastic, while at the same time, not. He was polite and attentive, but there were large spans of time where he would look at our table and then turn and run away without refilling empty drinks or telling us why it was taking so long. We got the fondue and also the loaf of bread appetizer. Both were very tasty. Our table got the filet, the NY strip, the bison burger, and a kid's Mac and cheese. The bison burger was very tasty, but the bun was annoying. It flakes all over and then dissolves from the juices, so eat fast. The filet was super small and too much smoke flavor. It was cooked as ordered, but it was pretty tough for a filet. The NY strip, again was way too much smoke flavor, and tough as hell. Lots of crunchy gristle and way too chewy. Worst Mac and cheese I think I've ever had. Noodles were undercooked and the sauce slid right off the noodles into the bottom of the bowl, which didn't really matter, because the sauce doesn't taste like anything and was the consistency of milk. I would never eat here again. Even at half the price, the quality of the food isn't justified. The ridiculous wait time between ordering and receiving the appetizers and then again with the meal is a huge negative. We were there over 2 hours which is totally unacceptable. Don't waste your money here. read more

Made a reservation to celebrate my mom's birthday. Seated almost immediately upstairs with a beautiful view. Staff are knowledgeable and drink menu is extensive if you enjoy whiskey or bourbon. Brussel sprouts were crispy and delicious but overpriced at $10 for a small portion. The rest of the meal was incredibly salty. Trout dip is served with crackers and both were so salty it was hard to eat but at $15, we did. Smashed potatoes are over-seasoned with rock salt. Would have wanted ketchup or a sauce to drown out the amount of salt. Carrots are okay but I expected a glaze. NY strip ($37) was ordered medium well and was not served to temperature--it was very under. Yet the salmon ($30) was over cooked and on the dry side. I was very disappointed with the overall meal, especially for the price. There are amazing meals at restaurants across CityWalk, and I would not give BigFire another chance. read more

Let me start this out by saying we are solely writing this review for Ed. He is the man of the hour, an icon, and a legend. We were having a horrible day and he turned it around at dinner the first night and we have been back EVERY NIGHT OF OUR TRIP SINCE. If you come here ASK FOR ED!! The food is amazing, don't get me wrong. Everything is amazing. This place is what the kids call "camp". Chelsea is sweet as can be and so welcoming as well. The service by Ed is literally the best we've ever had ever. He truly made us feel right at home. The hearth grilled chicken and crab cakes are amazing. The fondue with cola braised pork is SOOO good. Would recommend all of this. But at the end of the day..we're here for Ed. Ask for Ed when you walk to the hostess stand. You won't regret it. BIGFIRE LIGHTS UP CITY WALK This place was recommended by my wife's boss, so we decided to check it out this Christmas Eve. Not the best place to take a family of 6 with young children, but I think we got lucky since they stuck us on the covered porch overlooking the front walk. The artichoke oven roasted dip was yummy. The bread was grilled and you could taste that. The chicken tenders for the kids were exceptional. The breading was more of a light flake than a batter and was easier for little mouths to eat. We were able to sub in the Mac and cheese for the side -- the Mac and cheese was sinfully tasty. One bite of that convinced me that I could have made this my only course and been very happy. We had the full service dining plan, so I did the Creekstone Cowboy Ribeye (pictured). The cut was a little thinner than I was expecting, but the taste was absolutely delightful.
