Flying Fish has been on my list of places to try for some time and we finally went! It's always busy, so reservations are recommended. Their bread and butter is truly exceptional. It's going to be difficult not to stuff the entire loaf of bread into your mouth, but try. We started with the mussels and they were extraordinary. The broth was perfect, especially if you dip the bread into it. I had their famous potato wrapped fish for my entree and enjoyed it. I was just so full by that time that I couldn't eat much. My husband enjoyed his scallops, but the portion was a tad smaller than expected. Service was excellent and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. I recommend grabbing a drink next door at Abracadabar while you wait.
Wow to everything. Service, ambiance and food. The service was super attentive. We did have a little mishap at one point which was observed by one of the waiters and they QUICKLY and EFFECTIVELY managed the situation with the best service recovery I have ever seen. We had a great dinner.
Elegant restaurant that charges the Disney premium, but the food is actually delicious. Service was fantastic and super friendly. The filet mignon was super tender and perfectly seasoned. The slow roasted pork belly BLT starter was flavorful. The inside of the restaurant is classy and it's a nice spot to slow down and enjoy a nice meal while still on Disney property. Even the utensils have a nod to the fish theme, how cute! With your dinner reservation you get a free 3-hour resort dining parking pass.
We had a great meal here for my friend's birthday. The atmosphere is beautiful. We started with the pork belly which was rich and delicious (Braised Greens, Crispy Cornbread, Cannellini Beans, Espellete-spiced Honey) . We then took the servers recommendation of the Char-crusted New York Strip which was fantastic. The cocktails were delicious and the service was perfect. It is definitely on the pricier side but the food and service delivers.
Our overall experience was very good; the only reason it loses one star is the final billing. Be CAREFUL if you split the check!! The recommended tipping schedule is based on the ENTIRE bill, not just your portion. I'll provide more on this at the end of the review. We arrived a little after 9pm after having a cocktail at the AbracadaBar. Flying Fish is one restaurant on one side of the bar with an Italian restaurant on the opposite side. Since we had eaten at the Italian side previously, we went with Flying Fish as we were both ready for seafood. We approached the hostess stand and stated we did not have a reservation. She asked if we would care to sit at the bar and we both said yes. We were led to our seats and greeted by the 5-star bartender, Daniel! He was the perfect bartender; he was pleasant, punctual and checked on us regularly. We had a great rapport with Daniel, and he added to our enjoyment of the evening. He made several suggestions (some of which we had already agreed on perusing the menu) and we placed our orders. We shared the appetizers as well as our entrees so that we could have a well-rounded tasting of the menu. We started with the Lobster Bisque ($19), which Daniel split into separate bowls for us based on my friend's request. It was tasty, but I don't think I found one piece of lobster in my bowl. We also shared the Steamed Mussels ($20) which included house-made sweet sausage in the pork broth and a delicious black garlic aioli on the side. We both agreed the mussels were quite small, but they were good. They were served with burnt toast which was not visually appealing. I took the charred one so that my friend could have the less burnt one. I'm surprised the kitchen allowed it to be presented that way, but it was the end of the evening. For our entrees, I chose the Plancha-seared Scallops ($54) with savory grits and sweet corn, and my friend had the Chilean Sea Bass ($54) with potatoes. The presentation of both was outstanding and the taste of each was phenomenal (we shared)! The Sea Bass was covered in a crispy fish skin on top of the filet that was translucent, and it had an interesting taste. I went with the recommended wine pairing of the Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay ($29) and my friend had the BIN 702 Rose ($21). The meal and the wine accompaniments were excellent! Which brings me back to the checks. We were having such a good time (Daniel even commented on our energy and was glad we sat at the bar), that we really didn't pay attention to the tip recommendations. We signed off on our bills and a few minutes later, I realized I gave over a 40 percent tip based on the tip recommendations! I pointed this out to my friend, and she did the same thing, too! She thanked me for catching it because hers was a business meal expense and she could have gotten in trouble for such a large tip. Daniel said we could just initial our changes, and he would take care of entering in the correct amounts. He apologized and said the computer system printout of the bills provides recommended tips on the total charge rather than individual split portions. Recommendation to the Flying Fish staff - this should be pointed out to the customer(s) when a split bill is provided or at least it should be highlighted on each split bill that the recommended tip is based on the total billing rather than your individual tab.
Have dined here twice now & you can't beat the ambiance or the food. Right on the Boardwalk, and the restaurant feels elevated without being stuffy (guests allowed to wear whatever they wore at the park). Food is spectacular with prices that reflect that. Great spot for special events and celebrations. Our server was great (wish I could remember his name right now, started with an A and he's been there 10+ years). A seasoned pro. I will say the one downside was we had a very poor experience with the hostess (name started with a Z) and I sincerely hope she is no longer employed with the company, such a poor reflection of Disney. When we arrived, another host was ready to seat us and the other rude hostess (Z) snatched the menus away and said the table wasn't ready. Mind you, so many tables were empty & they were not busy so I'm not sure why she created such a fuss in front of the guests. We did eventually get sat but such a poor way to start off a very expensive dining experience. I later told the manager on duty about this and he did not seem particularly surprised which leads me to believe this happens regularly, but he always wasn't particularly sympathetic, so I'm not sure he cared really. Overall, a good experience minus the interactions with that hostess.
The quest to try every Disney restaurant continues. Flying Fish is located at the Disney's Boardwalk Resort. If you are at EPCOT, you can leave through the south exit and walk to the resort in about 10-15 minutes. Or because I was tired, I took the boat and it is the first stop on the boat leaving EPCOT and it lets you off basically at the restaurant. The restaurant opens at 5pm and I did not have a reservation so I decided to show up right at 5pm. I walk in and asked if the bar is first come first serve and the hostesses say yes. I go and sit at the bar (I'm the first person in the entire restaurant) and the bartender tells me I need to go back to the hostess stand and have them seat me at the bar. I get up confused and halfway back to the hostess stand one of the hostesses is walking over with a menu and taking it to where I was sitting at the bar. I thought this is weird. And then, another minute goes by and another girl comes up to me and asks me if I asked the hostess if I was allowed to sit there. Hello make up your mind restaurant. Either this is open seating or it isn't. How many people need to check in and see if I'm allowed to eat here. Once again, I am literally the only person here. After getting that all cleared up, I then was given a bartender who might as well been Where's Waldo. She let my water sit empty 45 minutes at a time. Was no where to be seen, and had nothing to say other than what do I want? Service here is a 0/10, hence I removed a star. Now, onto the food: I sat next to these 2 guys that told me that had been coming to this restaurant for 20+ years and had seen multiple renovations. They were definitely telling the truth as half the restaurant staff came over to greet them. All 3 of us joked how much horrible the service was this night. They didn't eat meat, but said this was their favorite Disney seafood restaurant. I don't eat seafood, but they named all of my favorite Disney restaurants also as their favorites so I think we mostly agreed on quality food. The menu here is pretty small. For an appetizer I had the $19 slow-roasted pork belly. I thought it was excellent and would definitely order it again. Not a huge portion though. For my entrée there wasn't a whole lot to pick from since I don't eat seafood. I went with the $62 filet mignon. I was blown away. It was excellent. I was extra worried because I really like Bourbon Steak which is a quick walk away at Disney's Dolphin Hotel. I didn't try any cocktails here. The steak was on par with Le Cellier or Bourbon Steak. I will need to bring a seafood eater here to see their review. Very pretty restaurant.
I truly wanted to give Flying Fish high ratings, but can't in good conscience. The evening started strong. The atmosphere is refined and inviting, and our appetizers and initial dishes came out promptly. Everything felt promising. The issues began when we waited what felt like 45 minutes for our main entrées. By then, all of our earlier dishes were finished, and we were simply sitting there waiting. We understand that restaurants get busy, so we didn't make a fuss. When the entrées finally started coming out, only half the table was served. Our server mentioned something about ensuring we had finished our previous dishes before bringing out the mains, which was framed as the reason for the delay. Unfortunately, it felt more like an excuse than an explanation. Then we realized one dish was missing entirely. The server asked our friend to repeat his order and claimed he had misheard and had put in the wrong order. Our friend even offered to take whatever the kitchen already had in progress to avoid further delay, trying to be flexible and understanding. Still, it took another 15 to 20 minutes for his meal to arrive. Given the timeline, it strongly felt like the order hadn't been submitted at all and was only fired once the mistake was realized. For a premium-priced restaurant, the experience felt disorganized and full of avoidable missteps. We would have appreciated straightforward honesty. As for the food: my steak had good flavor but was tough to cut and chew. The lobster bisque was noticeably bitter. The standout for me was the scallops I ordered on the side. They were the best part of the meal. The only reason this is a two-star review instead of one is because they ultimately comped my friend's entrée after it took about an hour to arrive. Overall, the level of care and execution did not match the premium price point. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Flying Fish.
Mike had the NY Strip med rare and it was almost rare in places. We both really enjoy the Potato Gratin but we may request it without sea salt next time. The green beans were pretty al dente and not very flavorful. I didn't really care for the NY Strip when I ordered it previously, so I went with the Plancha-Seared Scallops. Excellent choice and I might choose the scallops next time, too. The Savory Grits were pretty tasty but had a Corn O'Brien vibe. Did not have dessert this time but you can't go wrong.
We ate here for our "nice" dinner during our Disney World vacation. I had the potato wrapped snapper which was delicious. The entire plate was very very tasty. My husband had the steak which was amazingly delicious. Absolutely recommend even if it's a fish place. Definitely get the steak. My younger son had a kids meal of the snapper and it was very basic, but he enjoyed it for his dessert. He got the cones trio which we all thought was gonna be ice cream, but it was some sort of cream and we would not recommend getting that again. My older son from the regular menu got a seafood pasta dish which he liked. The restaurant is a beautiful location. Our waiter Harrison was very professional and friendly and Khalid, who seemed to be a manager was also very, very nice and spent some time talking with us. Great option for dinner if you're in the Boardwalk area. It is a little on the pricey side and the menu is fairly limited so check out the menu first before you go to make sure there's something that will appeal to you. Oh and the BREAD and butter was SO good!!
As a single I was able to walk right in and take a seat at the bar. I was acknowledged quickly and the service overall was very good. The Lobster Bisque was less than stellar - honestly one of the most disappointing lobster bisques I've ever had ..... just no umph. The Chilean Sea Bass over fork crushed potatoes on the other hand was excellent and went very well with the Chardonnay ..... this dish I would highly recommend.
The food was just okay. It was nice for the experience but we were not blown away by the food. We wanted a good meal before going into the park for after hours. We worked on table manners with our son more than talking about our food.
BEST STEAK at Walt Disney World, in my opinion. I've eaten here 2~3 times, and the steak is the best. Quality food. I sat at a table, but I've also sat at the bar by myself and learned a lot about wine. Bread is good. I really enjoy watching them, real professionals there, always thinking.

WOW, Five stars all around for sure. The ambiance here is not what you would expect from seeing the sign outside, just a big heads up on that! This place looks like it's going to be a BumbaGumpShrimp vibe from outside but it's giving Great Gatsby when you walk in, so give it a chance! BUT - I definitely recommend making reservations, you will likely need it. The whole environment is beautiful, upscale, just amazing. The wine list is plentiful if you're into that. The food is holy-wow so good - we got the Filet Mignon which had a cauliflower puree to die for, and the Char-crusted New York Strip which was cooked to perfection and came with the most incredible potatoes there are no words other than melt-in-your-mouth. Service as always to be expected at a Disney property was phenomenal. Ten stars. Everything was amazing. Definitely a nice dinner spot for an upscale family meal or date night! read more

The service was one of the best here. They open the door for you when you enter and exit. I can't say many other places here did that. I ordered the red snapper and the kids meals probably had one of the best fruit plates we had. In terms of fruit plate, I was only impressed with this place and Topolino's for the type and quality of fruit that was offered. The water here was fresh and the ambiance of the room was spacious and beautifully themed. I liked the fish art hanging from the ceiling. I don't know if there are as many other options for dishes though that I'd like to try here. I liked the lobster bisque and the red snapper, though I'm not sure I would want to order it again. Unfortunately, none of the dessert dishes spoke out to me. We ended up getting a vegan dessert dish just because I wanted some type of dessert to end the night with. I wouldn't order that again lol. The server warned me. read more
Flying Fish is such a fantastic spot at Disney World! The interior is gorgeous... a little bit more elegant than I realized prior to visiting (to my pleasant surprise). It is not very large but always seems pretty busy. The food is incredible. One thing about me is I'm always going to order a pork belly appetizer... the pork belly was so delicious and did not let me down. The steak was perfectly cooked, and a chocolate dessert (can't remember the name) was the sweet treat that I needed at the end of a great meal. Everything was so not only delicious, but beautiful presented, which for me is always a plus. Service was friendly, attentive, and really made the meal feel seamless. Including our transition from the AbracaBar where we were waiting for our table. Honestly, it's a bit of a splurge, but for a memorable Disney dining experience with amazing food and atmosphere, it's totally worth it. read more
Understated but my favorite place in all of Disney. Situated in a the boardwalk-which is always a fun spot- this place has some of the best seafood I've ever had. The environment is swanky without pretension The menu has typical staples like steak and salon but with unique twists. The food tastes great. The lobster bisque is the best I've had! We always come where whenever we go to Disney. Also, if you're waiting for your table, the bar next door is really good! read more

The food was absolutely amazing, and the entire experience felt elegant and upscale from start to finish. Stefano was our server, and he provided exceptional service very attentive, detailed, and always perfectly on time with everything we needed. The atmosphere had such a luxury nautical and marina-inspired vibe that was both beautiful and super cute. I ordered the filet mignon, lobster bisque, and a cucumber martini, and everything was delicious. The cucumber martini was especially refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I would definitely return again for both the food and the amazing service. read more
Service Ambiance and Food all deserve a five star review! The food was so good and flavorful. I enjoyed the mussels and lobster bisque. The restaurant reminds me of Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian. This is probably one of my favorite restaurants at Disney. Its not super big so I highly recommend making a reservation. The drinks are always high quality and they have a fantastic wine list. On this visit the Manhattan was our favorite, the flavors were absolutely incredible! We had a larger group so we ordered many things from the menu and not one person was disappointed. Wonderful food and great service make this a must visit for us. read more
The food was delicious! I highly recommend making dining reservations as they tend to get busy. Everything I ate was delicious. From my espresso martinis (strong and frothy), mussels (was missing something but it was still good) lobster bisque (I prefer the one from Yachtsman as this one didn't have a biscuit) and filet and lobster (perfectly cooked to desired temp) and dessert, strawberry shortcake! Our server was great and attentive! Overall, it was a good Christmas dinner! read more
Excellent food! We got the artisan cheese to start and it came with a physical, handheld card to explain each cheese which was very helpful. for entrees we got the red snapper wrapped with potato and the frutti di mare. Both were excellent. I was worried that the frutti di mare was going to be too small but it was a perfect portion that left room for dessert. we got the lemon mousse and the strawberry cake and they were both excellent. Our waiter was AMAZING. we had an allergy at the table and the chef came out and discussed it with us. It's probably common at disney restaurants, but the empathetic and knowledgeable chef was truly the cherry on top. Food was not necessarily quick to come out but our table had fun. The decor is chic and the restaurant is very clean. read more

We booked a reservation a month before. Their website says it's a signature dining restaurant but they weren't strict on dress code. Upon entering, it looked like a fancier location with their staff all dressed up too. The staff were polite and friendly and our server, Chelsea, was great. She was nice and happy to help us with dish recommendations. Our family loves seafood and I was excited when looking over their menu. We ordered their mussels appetizer, which had a yummy sauce to dip bread in and my daughter really loved. I tried their favorite Potato-crusted red snapper while my husband ordered their lobster bisque and scallops dish. Our daughter enjoyed the red snapper kid's meal and to finish off our meal we tried three of their desserts: the lemon mousse, strawberry and cream, and hazelnut dishes. All were great but our favorite was the hazelnut and strawberry and cream, so light and not super sweet. We want to try more of their menu so returning one more time during our vacation. read more
The decor of this restaurant is beautiful, featuring elegant design elements that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff provided attentive and friendly service throughout the meal. This place has quite the unique menu! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, and it was really nice. It's located right on a pier! It's a very cute ambiance! I got the potato wrapped snapper (since it's the most popular item on the menu according to our server). I liked it; however, I needed another sauce to go along with it. I didn't love the sauce it was in. It was a bit bland for me. After he brought me an aioli, I liked it a lot more. My boyfriend got the vegetarian dish and he really liked it. They surprised me with a Mickey birthday cake which was delicious!! I felt very special!! It had chocolate mousse in it, which I loved! read more

Service was wonderful, from the hostesses to bartenders (ate at bar) This is my 5th time eating here, approx 2x a year. Unfortunately every meal is more underwhelming than the last, ie stellar in the beginning, now just not. And expensive..., I'm good to pay $$$ for good food, but not underwhelming food This meal, the only "salad" option was heirloom squash with burrata and it was just weird. The burrata was yummy, the squashes were dense and unappealing. I ordered the filet (original stellar meal in the past), it too was underwhelming, bordering not good. The meat had a iron liver taste like a flat iron steak This meal might be the line drawn, may not go back read more
Flying Fish This was our first visit here and we were really excited. I have full reviews of each dish and details in the description of each picture (and its dark in there so getting good pictures proved difficult lol). We had an ADR and were seated right on time. Overall the atmosphere is beautiful and it's a nice place for a quiet dinner. The service was on point as well. It was the food that got mixed reviews. Some items were amazing and others were a big let down, lacking seasoning and being under or overcooked. The NY strip was really good, but the $18 add on shrimp was ridiculous. The shrimp had no seasoning and were overcooked. It lacked butter, salt, acid...literally anything that would have made the overcooked shrimp more palatable. The lobster bisque also would have benefited from some cream or salt. The dessert was one of the best I've ever had. Was the meal worth $201, definitely not, but it was "good enough" that we would go back to give it another try. read more
Went for the first time to Disney World Orlando's Flying Fish on the Epcot's Boardwalk area. This seafood focused restaurant originally opened as the Flying Fish Cafe. The original theme, designed by architect Martin Dorf, was a whimsical homage to the "Golden Age" of Coney Island and Atlantic City in the 1920s.The name was inspired by the Flying Turns, a classic 1920s Coney Island roller coaster; one of its ride cars was famously named the "Flying Fish." However, in 2016 this restaurant underwent a massive six-month renovation. It dropped "Cafe" from its name and abandoned the carnival aesthetic for a "chic seaside luxury" look. The current design creates an "under-the-sea" illusion, where the centerpiece is a stunning room-length chandelier featuring hundreds of sculpted glass fish and bubbles suspended from a deep blue enameled ceiling, mimicking a school of fish swimming toward the light. We went to the Flying Fish to celebrate my niece's birthday, so we had a reservation and were promptly seated in a family table, long and oblong. The service was attentive and friendly. We ordered both seafood and steak dished as both were on the menu, as well as cheese plate appetizers. The portions ranged from small (the cheese plates) to big (steaks). All were composed plates, although additions could be made like lobster tails or ibérico ham. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes except one that arrived cold, but was promptly taken, refired and presented at the right temperature. We did not have any desserts, but they looked appetizing too. A great family experience! read more
I went here the other night with my family, but it left much to be desired. First of all, the restaurant is very pretty. I liked the decor, ambiance, and even the fish themed silverware. Next, the service here was quite good. Our server was attentive, polite, and gave recommendations for our meals. I ordered the Pork Belly for the appetizer and Chilean Sea Bass for my main course. The pork belly appetizer was fine. It had good flavor but it did not blow me away. It was just simply fine. As for the Bass. The portion was very small as well. For the most part, I liked most of the flavors on the plate. There was some sort of decoration that appeared like a flower that had Sea Bass stuffed into it with some sort of sauce. I wasn't really a fan of the flavors combined there. I was with other family members who ordered the Potato wrapped Snapper and the Scallops. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their fish as well. My biggest complaint is the prices. $400 for a meal for four is wild and the food was simply okay, but nothing mind-blowing. I love upscale restaurants but I expect to be more impressed with the flavors and portion sizes of the meals. read more
It has taken a few days to sort out my feelings about dining here. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the service by Omar was excellent. The drinks were just ok the manhattan was excellent, Collins was ok, pomegranate margarita was bad. Bread service was a highlight, the bread contains potatoes and then combined with the salted butter made for a surprisingly good course. The appetizers were good the shrimp cocktail and the pork belly were the standout items however the bisque was lacking on all points. The highly recommended entrees were less than stellar ,the potato wrapped snapper lacked flavor and the crusted sirloin was "crusted" by a topping rather than a proper char due to a charcoal or wood cooking. The sea bass ended up being the best entree we tried. The cheesecake was a good desert choice and finished the meal on a good note. Hard to totally recommend this restaurant at such a high price point but ok to try for a special occasion. read more

After an exhilarating day at Hollywood Studios, we topped off our day at the Flying Fish (on a recommendation from a great friend). We were certainly ready for a table service meal, but we could not have imagined the experience we were about to have. This was easily a top three in WDW for us, and will certainly be on the list for any future trips. The restaurant is beautiful, the servers are fantastic, but the food is simply a work of art, very delicious art. The pictures will hopefully do some justice, where words fail. If you're ready to relax and enjoy a fabulous meal, this is the spot. read more

I got the New York Strip and it was cooked to perfection. The green beans were a little crunchy for me, but good overall. The potatoes were amazing, but I wish it was a bigger portion of them because they were so good! They started the service with bread and butter which was good, but basic. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was great for our group of seven. Casual dining with fine dining taste! One of the best restaurants in Disney that's actually worth the price. read more
