I rarely eat meat, but just loved it We really appreciate the management at this place. We visited Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights, and time got away from us. Before we knew it, it was 11:00 pm and we were hungry, but didn't want something too heavy that late. We couldn't get into the Chocolate Emporium, so wanted to try this place, as their menu looked great and it was new to us since our last visit to Universal. At first we were turned away and told they were done for the night. We asked where we could still find a place serving dinner, and directed to another place. But when the manager heard about us, he graciously agreed to allow 2 more in and asked the kitchen not to close, then sent a server over for us. We are so appreciative of his kindness. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the food was superb. We shared a charred Brussels sprouts appetizer, which was very large and tasty. But that bison burger was outstanding! It came with a choice of sides, and I got grilled vegetables. They were unexpectedly fabulous!!! Everything seems to be cooked on an open fire in a wood-burning oven/stove, so it has that wonderful flame-grilled flavor. This place will be the first place we eat at our next visit to Universal. Had reservations after a day at the park. A bit chaotic in the check in area, but we were seated within 10 mins of our reservation. Ordered the bread as an appetizer ... was warm and delicious. Butter was really good, too. I ordered the Bison Burger and it was average. A bit dry - and the description outweighed the presentation. Not much cheese or many onions. Husband ordered the Seafood Bake and loved it. Lastly the children's chicken tender meal was really disappointing. We've never seen three chicken tenders look so tiny and scrawny. Definitely not worth it - especially for an area that is surrounded by kids (see pics). Would not return .. wasn't terrible, but didn't do much for us in order to return. read more

Great spot located in CityWalk. If looking to have some finer dining with none of the glam from Universal this is the place to go to. The quality is really good and the staff is very professional. I would just have to say it's a bit pricier and the vibe of the place is a bit more basic than I would like. Do not believe the low reviews. Some of the people are just... you can't help them. They complain about "smoke" the name of the place is BigFire come on lol. Or they're the type of people that order a steak well done with ketchup. Now to the review. This place was amazing it hit every single checked box for our expectations. Service was amazing our waiter was Amin, I do recommend reservations. We had the bigfire old fashioned which was amazing and the Bourbon Fondue was incredible. For dinner we had the ribeye and lamb shank. I can't stress this enough as I'm a steak guy and my family owns cattle ranches. This steak and lamb shank were to die for. A good steak you only need salt and pepper so it doesn't hide anything. Great quality cuts of both protein! read more

Service is good and atmosphere is nice; the food itself, however, was nothing special for the price and the amount of good reviews I've seen for this place (most of it outside of Yelp though). Headline: Don't be fooled by its appearance. Place is not great. You're better off going to any of the other restaurants or a fast food spot for that matter. When staying at the property you're already limited to options since conveniency is probably high on your list. We had dinner at Big Fire and unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. Not only was it mediocre, but it was also extremely overpriced for what we received. The dishes lacked flavor and were not worth the high prices we paid. If you order a burger, just know that the bun is hard and does not taste fresh. The burger meat was bland to the point I had to order the mustard aioli to give it flavor. The fries may look good in pictures, but they're one of the worst fries I've ever had (how do you mess up fries?!). The Steak Wedge Salad was watery. Looked like soup towards the end (ugh). Overall, the service was decent and the place looks nice, but it's definitely all optics. I'm sure the staff works hard and keep the place looking nice, but the quality of the food lacks flavor and love. Skip this place. To make matters worse, the service was slow and inattentive. This was my second time coming here, I thought the first time I had written a review but it doesn't appear that that's the case. My initial review would've been 4 star, we had a good experience and the food was very tasty, however that's not the case for the return review. This place lately has been completely booked and requires a reservation. Went twice in hopes of getting a table but were turned away unfortunately. After learning our lesson we got a reservation and had no issue. Upon being sat down at opening, the table behind us was greeted by who would be our waitress. I asked my date if it was just me or did the waitress seem to be speaking to the other table pretty rudely, and she had agreed with me. I was worried because the other table seemed pretty quiet and not a problem. When she came to our table that attitude carried over to us. The restaurant had just opened and this waitress seemed to already be on edge, rudely and incorrectly correcting my date. We almost immediately knew what we wanted because of our previous visit and how good it was. The bread with herbed butter was delicious the first time. The butter was amazing but the preservatives not that great, so we asked for an extra butter instead of the preservatives for our bread. When it arrived all we got was the 1 butter and 1 preservatives. The waitress never made it to our table until 15 minutes later when our food arrived and made a comment "oh I guess they didn't give you the extra butter", which she would've known if she checked on us prior to finishing our bread. I ordered the PB&J alcohol beverage and it was okay. Not worth the price you pay for how much you get. Just a neat concept for a drink. When the food arrived I had ordered the roasted chicken and potatoes. Both my food and my dates seemed to be severely under seasoned and we were highly unimpressed. We were so hyped on coming again because of our initial visit being so nice, but the return visit left a lot to be desired and we've decided to not return. Super surprised with the food here! It was FIRE! Made a reservation on their website and was seated right on time. My boyfriend and I were greeted and seated immediately when they texted that our table was ready. Our server Josh was amazing and gave us some great recommendations since it was our first time trying this place. We ordered the Filet Mignon, tableside s'mores and Bourbon Cheese Fondue to share. The food was plenty enough for us two and we were stuffed by the end of it. It did not take long to get our food...maybe around 10 minutes. Everything was wonderful. The steak was so tender and seasoned perfectly. The cheese fondue was the star of the show for us. The fondue was thick and creamy and full of flavor. We ordered it with the cola pork and it was the best choice! The flavor from the pork soaked in the cheese and just made the flavors melt even more. All the sides used to dip the cheese paired very well. The tableside s'mores are a must to get it if you bring kids along. It was so fun to melt the s'mores on the table even for us mid-20-year-olds. I loved that they had a couple vegan options and dairy free cheese. I got their chicken sandwich and was able to get the bun swapped and dairy free cheese. It was delicious. My waitress accommodated all my needs with my lactose intolerance. However, a male at my table ordered wings and was not impressed. I'm not usually a fan of 'theme park food', but was pleasantly surprised by Big Fire during our visit for dinner the other night. I had the beer glazed scallops and my partner had the chicken and dumplings. Both were prepared perfectly and had a nice smokey flavor that we both really enjoyed. The wine and beer selection was decent (quite a few more wines than beer, only a few craft beer options - more than many theme park restaurants in any case). The ambiance was also nice, feeling cozy and a bit upscale. I will note that the lightbulb was out above our table which made the menus hard to read. The prices were on the higher end, but reasonable considering it's in City Walk, at around $20-$40 per entree. It definitely felt fair all things considered. Made a reservation online, checked in a little early, and were seated right on time. The main dining room is beautiful and I would recommend asking to be seated there, or in the booths upstairs overlooking the main dining room. We unfortunately were put in some room upstairs that had no character. We did however have a fantastic server, Aaron, which was the silver lining and highly recommended him!! He was funny, friendly, and was training a new server and they both were great. The smoked old fashioned was delicious but a little on the sweet side. Smoked amber beer was fantastic. Grilled trout dinner and the roasted potato and grilled veggie sides were super delicious. The only hiccup was the bison burger was sent out and seemed to be sitting a while because the bun was soggy and it was also light on toppings. Aaron & the whole team offered and very quickly got a fresh one delivered that was fantastic! It meant so much that our experience was valued and they worked hard to make it right! We started with two appetizers. The Oysters Rockefeller and Wood Charred Brussels Sprouts. The flavor of the oysters was good the only downside was only four came in the order and they were on the small side. The Brussels had good flavor and again the portion size was small. For dinner I was in the mood for something on the light side, and I went for the Cauliflower Steak. Prepared on the wood fired grill like the meats, it was a generous portion but what really made the dish was the roasted tomato sauce on the plate along with the corn and farro salad. The flavor was amazing. My daughters both had the 6oz filet minion. The meat was cooked well and the smoky flavor of being prepared over open flame came through. Their disappointment came with the flavor and portion sizes of the sides (carrots and smashed small potatoes). My husband had the ribeye steak. The meat was prepared cooked to order. He shared the same thoughts of my daughters where he was disappointed in the flavor and portion size of the sides. The location of the restaurants to the parks is definitely a plus, but I don't see us returning as the cost in comparison to portion sizes leaves you wanting more. read more

We wanted to come here on our date night while vacationing at Universal Studios and it seemed like it was one of the only options for a nicer place. The atmosphere was nice and the service wasn't bad but the food was mediocre. We got the mussels to start and then a filet with a side of mac and cheese to share. They accidentally gave us the au gratin potatoes instead and I was kind of disappointed because I was looking forward to the mac and cheese after seeing pictures of it. We told our server and they whipped up some mac and cheese for us quickly and let us keep the au gratin potatoes. As expected, the mac and cheese was delicious. The potatoes and the filet were okay. Had a quick dinner at the bar, which was convenient since there was no wait and they serve the full menu there. Service was pretty good, considering the bartenders were constantly busy making and serving drinks. The burrata and heirloom tomato salad was good, with lots of tomatoes and a delicious eggplant caponata. There were no cucumbers as the menu described, but there were 4 different types of tomatoes as well as several types of cherry tomatoes. The caponata was sweet with a little tanginess that complimented the creamy cheese and tomatoes. Unfortunately the toasted bread slices accompanying the salad were grilled but cold and hard, probably prepared ahead of time. If you love tomatoes, this is the salad for you! This was a pleasant Thanksgiving dining experience at Universal City Walk. Reservations are highly recommended and were easy to make online. The restaurant is large and has a large open kitchen and grilling area where you can see steaks, etc being cooked on the open flame. The ambience is simple and not terribly upscale. We got a very small table tucked away in a corner. They have a fairly large menu with emphasis on steaks. On Thanksgiving day they had a special turkey entree, but sadly that wasn't available on the Universal dining plan. Anything else was available, though, including lamb chops or a 6 or 8 ounce filet mignon. I opted for the 8 ounce filet with the smashed potatoes. Both were excellent. The filet was excellent. Perfectly cooked and with a wonderful flavor that must come from their wood smoking. The potatoes were also delicious. They were sort of roasted mini potatoes that were slightly smashed and crispy. Excellent. For dessert we could choose an apple crisp or a chocolate cake as part of the dining plan (it's a little sad that Universal's dining plan is more limited in ways like this versus Disney's). I tried the apple crisp which was like a miniature apple pie which was delicious. Overall this was a delicious experience and a great dining experience at Universal and a good value for the dining plan. read more

My friend and I had the best experience here! A cold front came in and our server Francis brought us this cute personal cast iron fire heater for our table. She noticed we were cold and just brought it over which is above and beyond any restaurant I've been too. The whole vibe of this restaurant was so cozy.
