This place has a great vibe when you walk in, however my only suggestion is the amount of tables and how close they are to the service station and front host isn't very personable. It kind of ruins the ambiance or vibe of the restaurant. But I love how it feels modern rustic. We got the bread, great drinks, and both ordered the filet (it was awesome). Kids got the burgers (were amazing) but the Mac n cheese was cold and flavorless. The Brussels were overcooked and cold. The reason it got 4 stars from us wasn't because of the service bc that could do better - it was so slow and lack of attention.... But it got it because of the s'more Table side. Beautiful restaurant right on City Walk with reservations recommended. A fire pit lays right outside and is wonderful to stand by on those cold nights. Waited not even two minutes until we were called in and taken to a table on the second floor. I believe our waitress' name was Angie and she was more than pleasant, even after a mishap with the printing of receipts. Burger was a chargrilled taste of delight but the bread was thin and easily fell apart. The food was not what we were expecting. We are from out of town and thought it was normal American food. This was Elk, Mushroom bun type food. There were three things we could eat so we chose Cheeseburger, he was talked into Elk sloppy Joe (oh it tastes the same as beef) and another person got s'mores. The cheeseburger was okay. Wow I was extremely impressed with the quality of food and the service. It definitely did not feel like a tourist trap at all. I was walking around with some friends and decided to check them out since it used to be emérils place years ago. Immediately walking in I liked the vibe. Ok make this short we had the fondue app I would recommend more bread and pass on the pork and sausage, either than that fantastic dish. Entire party loved it. We then each had a different entree and everyone loved each others item. The burger full of flavor(kids) the steak just amazing smoke flavor and cooked to perfection. Me and the wife go here almost every time we go to universal and IOA. We split a steak and is amazing. I love the way they cook the steak.

Despite a reservation system glitch they've been dealing with for a few weeks, the host welcomed us as though we hadn't accidentally booked 3 times our party's size. Bright, welcoming interior and while they seat 450, the restaurant is sectioned off into smaller rooms - mostly by clear walls - so noise is far from overwhelming. Food is colorful, fresh, touches a variety of diets and is not overly fussy but brings a slight spin to classics. Staff extremely knowledgeable. Service fast. Clean space. Food and service was bad, the " flat bread looked like a sloppy mess, it came out cold the first time and then they popped in in the microwave. We also ordered an appetizer of bread that claims to be fresh baked and come out soft and warm. It came out ice cold even after they remade it 3 times! I would describe the decor as modern-open concept that pairs well with their wood fired food theme. Basically, I really liked the atmosphere! For appetizers, we ordered the Oysters Rockefeller & thought they were tasty but a bit heavy on the Bernaise sauce. For food, I went with the Salmon BLTA sandwich, my wife got the Bigfire Caesar Salad, my daughter went with the Brook Trout entree & my grand daughter had Mac N Cheese....all were very good. For drinks, this is where I have to ding them. I love old fashions so I ordered their Classic. It was very tasty BUT the drink didn't even rise above the ice in my rocks glass!! To make up for my Old Fashion, I ordered a Pernicious IPA...hoppy, well balanced & tasty. This review is for the Big Fire Bar area, as we have never sat in the restaurant or ordered food. We have started a tradition of starting off Universal evenings with an old fashion from the bar area here. They open at 4pm with many bar spots where you can order the full menu. Bartenders have been so kind and skilled every visit. We love the PB & J and Blackberry citrus old fashions. The PB & J is just something you need to try. You get a smell of peanut butter with a lasting taste of jam on the tongue it's great. Highly recommend stopping in for a drink. read more

A nice place to grab a seat away from the hustle and bustle of city walk. Would definitely need a reservation as it seems like it's always packed. Luckily we were able to find a seat at the bar and it's always nice to sit there and talk to the bartenders. We ordered medium and they were totally burnt. The manager comped our appetizer which was nice, but we still had $300 of steaks that we didn't eat. Dined with our grand daughter to meet her new boyfriend. Ordered some appetizers, they came before our order was taken so you're trying to eat your appetizer while contending with these large menus. The appetizer plates were not cleared off when the food came. Everyone's dinner was cold. Terrible timing. Our grand daughter's medium rare filet was charred on the outside and rare in the middle. Her boyfriend's New York strip was so tough it was inedible. My wife's hot honey salmon had no heat at all. I really wish the almond garlic paste they smeared at the bottom of the bowl was smeared on top of Brussels. They also needed more salt and pepper.The first few had no flavor until you reached the Brussels closer to this garlicky paste. Our entrees were good! I totally enjoyed my braised trout with fresh carrots, mini zucchini and crispy fingerling potatoes. I tasted the beef ribs and that was falling off the bone so tender and juicy!!! The restaurant has a beautiful warmth of elegance but it was very loud. The sounds echo all up the tall ceilings. Big Disappointment - Not Worth the Hype (or the Price) Even by CityWalk standards, this place missed the mark. We started with the fondue, which was just meh--the cheese had a slight flavor, but it was served with these weird, wet, grilled peppers that had a slimy texture and a foul aftertaste. Not a great start. I ordered the scallops and took one bite... instantly regretted it. They tasted rancid--not just poorly cooked, but like low tide in a heatwave. I had the waiter take them away immediately. The manager came over, and when I told him they were bad, he said, "I'll talk to the chef." At least they took them off the bill. My friend had the salmon--served over cold potatoes, and the salmon itself was dry. He finished it because we were starving, but it wasn't good. Now for the highlight: the martinis. We had two each, and they were solid. So there's that. Total bill was $130 for four martinis, fondue, and salmon--no entrees worth eating, and I left hungry. Definitely not worth it. Bottom line: Come for the drinks, skip the food. There are better options around. read more

One of the better restaurants in this tourist trap. The wait for TWO HOURS. Granted it was spring break but Goddamn. Our server was the friendliest guy ever. So polite and so energetic. The food was delicious, HOWEVER, waiting 2 hours for a table tends to make you really hungry and susceptible to an attitude. We got there, gave our order, and our food came within 15 minutes (not bad). My thing was, I asked for no sausages in my seafood boil. Numerous times. The server confirmed. My food comes and guess what? Sausages. I had to wait an extra 10 minutes (by then, I was hangry). Besides the fact that there was a lack of hearing somewhere in the kitchen (which is why I'm giving them 4 stars), it's a delicious place to eat at. Make sure to get their Baked Alaska! We walked into a beautiful & clean restaurant with a very nice ambiance. We had booked a reservation for 6:45pm for 3 of us, we arrived at 5:45pm and they were happy to accommodate us. I had the Dutch baked beef burgandy, my wife had the beer glazed scallops, & my daughter had the kids' sirlion steak. We all love our food so much. For dessert, we shared the table side smores & the dutch apple pie ala mode & both were fantastic and so much fun to eat. The entire experience was truly exceptional, starting with the service from our server, Alejandro. He greeted us 30 seconds after we were seated and he introduced himself, explained the specials, and made suggestions. I ordered a glass of wine that was not whatvInwas looking for, he suggested an alternate & w/o me having to ask he brought me a taster of a Pinot Noir, that I loved and ordered. Instead, it had shishitos and a delicious spread under it. I ordered the salmon sandwich. Fresh and delish! But, the fries (which I normally don't care for) were out of this world! I am craving them right now. We also ordered the filet. Let me tell you - we just dined at 2 other very high end steakhouses this week (we are at a work conference - I know - gluttony to the G!) but this was one of the best filets I've ever had. I'm writing this fully stuffed and the people next to me just ordered the fondue. I want to try it so bad. But I shall refrain from dipping a finger into that melty gooey cheese. Slurp! Came in for supper but just sat at the bar because the dining room was booked out four days in advance. Book really early if you want to get a seat in the dining area. We walked in and sat at the bar without any hassle. We started with a drink, Raspberry Lemonade and a Salty Dog. Sat and chatted with a great couple who were heading off to the ACDC concert. We didn't know they were still touring. We ordered the 24oz, bone in Prime T-Bone, medium-rare to share. Also an additional Smokey Mushroom side order. Everything came out in a reasonable time, however, the T-Bone was unfortunately extremely rare, almost blue. We had to send it back and let them know we asked for medium rare, not blue. Stevi, our server, was simply awesome. She made everything right, even though it was hardly her fault. Despite this, we had to wait for another 10 minutes for them to fix by replacing the steak. Everything came out again with a full complement of carrots and potatoes. Also, many apologies. I have to say that I was quite disappointed for the price of the meal. If not for Stevi, I may have dropped a star. The drinks were good but the food was a little sub par. Even the second steak was rare at best. I've eaten here twice now and I can confidently say... this place is AWESOME. If you like meat and whiskey, you're in heaven. Even if you only like one of the two, you're gonna be a very happy camper. I HIGHLY recommend the smoked old fashioned. They bring a smoked glass right to your table and pour the bourbon directly in so it's as fresh as can be. Just incredible flavor to it... As far as food goes, the bread appetizer is great (although kinda sucks it's not complimentary)... But I've had 2 entrees here and both were phenomenal. Bison burger was juicy and flavorful, and the filet mignon... well, damn. Nice and thick, cooked perfectly medium rare and had a nice flavor from the wood. We got to City Walk early to grab some dinner and drinks before seeing Chelsea Handler's show at Hard Rock Live. There are LOTS of options at City Walk but we decided to give Bigfire a chance because the menu looked good plus they had some outdoor seating available and the weather was perfect. They told us it would be about a 25 minute wait even though there were about half the tables in the restaurant open. I know staffing is a massive challenge right now, so we were fine to wait and headed over to see if there was seating at the bar. As soon as we found a spot at the bar, we got a text that our table was ready. They had a table outside for us but it was completely soaked when we got there because it has rained earlier. Our host and another employee came over to dry the table so we could be seated but we didn't have menus or the QR code. Our server was very friendly but service felt a bit disjointed. Our food and drinks arrived quickly after we ordered. Everything was good but not great. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my husband had the cauliflower steak. I expected a more elevated experience for the money, food, drink and service included. The restaurant itself is beautiful but the experience just wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. Eghh, I was so excited to try this spot. Right in the heart of CityWalk. The ambiance inside was underwhelming. The steak and veggies didn't have a great appeal. It appeared dry. Orderly, the side mushrooms add some moist and perfect gravy for the steak. But I'm astonished they charge for this as a side. It should be on the plate. The oyster sits in a bed of fired up chips. Went here for my birthday dinner before the UOAP event. Had a 4:00 reservation and were promptly seated upon arrival, unfortunately we weren't terribly happy with where our table was located and upon letting the staff know we were promptly moved to a table that was more to our liking. We were quickly greeted by Chalmers, who was warm and welcoming. He was very forthcoming with suggestions and information. Ultimately we started with cocktails. I went with Chalmers' suggestion of the Classic Old Fashioned while my friend decided to have the Blackberry Citrus, both of which were well crafted and balanced. While we enjoyed our cocktails we went ahead and placed our appetizer and main course order. We had the Bourbon Cheese Fondue as our appetizer and as our main courses my friend order the Beer Can Chicken and I ordered the Shrimp and Smoked cheddar grits. While we waited for our appetizer, Chalmers checked in on us periodically and we had pleasant conversations with him. Our appetizer arrived and was beautifully presented. The cheese fondue paired very well with the choice of veggies and bread that accompany it. Overall a great first course. The entrees arrived in an appropriate amount of time. I throughly enjoyed the perfectly seasoned grilled shrimp with the smoky cheddar grits and the andouille sausage gravy. My friend enjoyed the flavors of the beer can chicken and found the meat to be moist and well seasoned, the sides that accompanied the meal were also wonderful. While we enjoyed our dinner, we could help but notice that the staff was happy really seem to enjoy working there. First time here, busy but not packed evening at the restaurant. Server was a bit slow arriving for orders, but it was clear he had his hands full and did greet us promptly. I had the shrimp and grits, which I couldn't find a photo of here, so thought I'd upload. The (4) prawns were slightly spicier that I'd like, but not too much so. Grits slightly clumpy, but the taste was spot on. Table also tried a burger, which had good smoke flavor and was cooked correctly. As well as the beef bourguignon, which was very rich and tasty. For me, restaurants at the resort are either "come back to" (Vivo, Mythos, Cowfish etc.) or "wouldn't come back" (Antojitos, Toothsome, Hard Rock). Bigfire's food and ambiance makes the former list, I'd like to save room for dessert next time and try a steak. read more
