We went camping and had a weight differential kit sitting in the back of the truck. Of course on the way down the trailer was swaying and pushing the bed down. On our last day as we were getting ready to head home I tried to install it myself and didn't have the tools to loosen the bolts. I looked up a few trailer places and found Big Tex which was down the street. Julio got me setup and Ernie (technician) got it installed and guided me to a new ball that fit the kit. Ernie was super nice and helpful. They wouldn't let me pay for the labor and sent me on my way. Very appreciative as a dad of 4, this alleviates the hook up process on the way home. At the time of sale, Big Tex staff knew I was operating commercially and for hire, yet did not clearly explain what derating the trailer would mean in practical terms -- specifically how much it would severely limit usable payload, despite the trailer being physically capable of more. As a business owner, I relied on the dealership's expertise to explain the implications of the product they were selling. After realizing the impact this has had on my operations, I reached out multiple times by email seeking guidance or a solution. I was eventually told the trailer could not be re-rated, leaving me stuck with equipment that does not meet my business needs -- something that could have been avoided with full transparency at the time of purchase. I'm not accusing Big Tex of doing anything illegal, but I do believe they failed to properly inform a commercial customer about the real-world consequences of buying a derated trailer. This has caused unnecessary financial and operational hardship for my business. Just picked up my horse trailer after they serviced it for an upcoming road trip, and these are the best guys! There had been a bit of an issue and misunderstanding when I drove out to pick my trailer up on Saturday but that was rectified more than adequately and I left not only thrilled with the work they did on my trailer, (new brakes, bearings, electrical fixed, and more) but also with an appointment to bring my truck back for some towing extras to be installed. I went to 'Big Tex" to have running boards put on my aunts, brand new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado. First of all they gave excellent, customer service. They were helpful, friendly, and most of all communicative. They explained all of her options and were able to give her great service even when they were very busy. Since buying my 20' trailer from this company one year ago, I have had nothing but problems. First, the wiring was not properly secured and the Mega Ramp destroyed it. Needed to get the entire wiring harness replaced. Second, the pin came out holding the ramps up, allowing the support bar to drag on the ground, ruining it. Multiple - and I mean multiple - calls to the Service Department went unanswered and my messages went without response. My trailer is still under warranty, but the lack of responsiveness leaves me cold. I will NEVER buy from them again, and neither should you. read more

Brought my dump trailer here to have the hydraulic pump inspected. It failed to dump loads heavier than 1.5 tons. Ground connection was loose. I wasn't charged a penny. Purchase a trailer in December and about two days after I got home I realized that the jack handle was rubbing on the frame. So I reached out to the location and never got a callback. So then I reached out to big tex corporate they emailed me back and set up a claim. Took about four days but one of the representatives in the Beaumont location called me and told me to bring it up Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. Well I happen to work approximately the same hours so I asked him can I drop it off after work or on the weekend and he said no only during the week I guess you have to take a day off. Take in mind this is after when I was doing the final inspection on picking it up I pretty much got yelled at by one of the employees for refusing to sign the paperwork before I did a full inspection and then he threw a pen across the room. Hailey was great as the sales person. Very professional and great customer service. But the rest of the team out side of sales needs to be reminded that most customer won't take your attitude and will never come back if you are like that. So my trailer fix, I had to do it because I don't want to take a day off work to have them fix their mistake. read more

This is a very busy yard and with the scramble to get any trailer in stock, with some companies having a 4-5 month wait with half your money on deposit, it was great to get a trailer right now for a reasonable price with out crazy mark ups others are charging for in stock units. Franscisco was very professional, the yard guys for pick up super helpful, and all in all super bunch of people working there. I recently had my trailer in for service and what a nightmare. I left it there at the beginning of summer telling them they had time to work on it and that I wanted it back brand new no matter what services they had to do on it.... after over 2 months and countless excuses I finally had to yell at someone to get a straight answer about when my trailer would be ready. Once I finally got the ok to pick up my trailer I asked if everything was resolved top to bottom and front to back, I was assured that everything was looked over and in working order. When I arrived I noticed a handful of things that weren't addressed, when asked about them Daniel quickly made more excuses and called tech's to look at them. Not to mention I entered the trailer to find all the drawers open and the trailer raided, people hop their wall and steal from the trailers they have there. My Stereo deck was yanked out and gone. When I told then I wanted it replaced they said there was nothing they could do because it wasn't their fault and they weren't liable.... not liable for my trailer that was in their fenced yard.... That I'm paying them to look after and repair.... What a joke. They were either over priced or too proud of their units to sell them reasonably. I called Big Tex in Beaumont based upon a recommendation from a coworker. I spoke to Tony who was very laid back and not pushy at all. He said they had a few in stock in various colors, gave me an OTD price, and told me to come in when I was ready. On 10/7/16 just before 8 in the morning my husband got a call saying the trailer he reserved (twice) would not be available for use, apparently the trailer did not pass inspection. Why didnt they make that call the day before? We depended on these undependable people, this undependable company, to provide a service and they failed. Went to buy a 14 foot Utility trailer, tandem axle 60Pi model. The outside looked fine and it had some good accessories such as electric brakes and spring loaded ramp. The price was very competitive from what I researched. Further inspections I noted several boards in the front that were not flush on the deck itself. Looked underneath and I could see instantly the problem!! They welded the support frame crooked that goes from underneath trailer to the tongue. This is what caused the boards to be raised about 1/4 of an inch in the front part of the trailer. Boards were secured down as far as they possibly could. I told Sales person and he did not have much of a comment. He showed me a 12 foot trailer and the exact same thing!!! I said where is the quality control??? I went to Trailer place next door and bought a different brand trailer. I'm just dumfounded on the poor workmanship. Highly advise you inspect underneath the trailers front to back!!!! read more

Showed up and he said i ordered a trailer that I didn't order. He said I didn't specify the ramp I wanted when I clearly showed him the exact trailer from their website. Then he Tried to up sell me another trailer I didn't want and waisted my time and cost me a few jobs I had lined up. Do not deal with billy he made it seem like it was my fault when it was theirs. I was surprised when the sales person just pointed me to the far end of the yard and had no intention of walking the lot with me and telling me about their trailers. Regardless, I found want I wanted and then sat down and placed an order. No haggling on price and gave them my credit card for a deposit. Hailey told me she would call me the very next day to go over the order details. No call. A week later I called her and left a message. No return call. Another week later I called and left another message. No return call. Then I sent an email. Nothing back. After waiting 19 days I called to cancel my order and take my business somewhere else.
