The Food overall I would say was good! The fries are trash UNLESS you get the beer battered ones. It took forever to get our drinks and beer which was kinda crazy. Our waitress started sweeping the floor when we were waiting for her to come back and take our dessert order which we decided not to get cause it was gonna be a while. Overall it's Okay if you are willing to overlook service and know what you are gonna get that's good. The ambiance is great and it's cute but the service kinda took this down a peg.

We were here a couple of years ago during Rex Allen Days, I remember the experience being better. Maybe it was a slow Saturday. Service was off. Burgers were average at best, seems like they may have been pre-cooked? hope not, just dried out. Wilcox is not exactly a culinary destination but I hoped for better.

We've passed by here a couple of times and finally had the chance to stop by. I'm certainly glad we did. We enjoyed a delicious lunch here and will definitely be back again. The server was attentive and the food came out really quick. The location wasn't that busy for a Saturday afternoon, which we found surprising. The menu has a sizable selection. I had the brisket sandwich and the beer battered fries. Lots of fries. The beer selection is quite good. And the amount of food for the price is quite reasonable. The interior is a bit "cavernous" and I find that charming. A great experience; I look forward to going back. I believe there was a surcharge because I used my credit card, which I get but I always find it a little disheartening. It's a shame that businesses have to do this now.

Food was good and plentiful. The service was very good - they have a robot that brings the food to the table and then the server serves it. The humans did an exceptional job! The atmosphere was very fun. One wall was entirely made up of repurposed crates, etc. and there is a very large Texas long-horn on the wall.

When I go to a BBQ place I usually order brisket so Ive had my fair share of brisket in AZ, GA, FL and of course TX. I have to say their brisket was okay. Definitely not bad but not the best either . This place smelled so good from outside so I had high expectation. This place is ideal for a big party, family etc... They have a salad bar, which is a nice touch. And of course, the exterior of the restaurant is super cool and will definitely draw your attention! For a busy restaurant, the service was good and fast.

    Spare Ribs.

I wanted to get some meat à la cart to go, specifically spare ribs. The kind waitress said "we've been slammed today but I'll see what they can do." She ran back out and said we're working on it! 10 minutes later she met me at the counter, and said "$16.00 please." For which I received six huge ribs plus the tail piece. They were delicious, and more than I could eat. Their house sauce is fantastic as well. I will definitely be back.

Cauliflower pizza ( mushroom, pineapple, ham). Nice but didn't care for canned mushrooms

Mom and I were in Wilcox and she remembered she had been to 'The Train Restaurant". I had never been there, so we headed there after our business in town. This is a BBQ spot but neither of us tried got it. I didn't want something that heavy so I ordered the Cauliflower pizza (mushroom, pineapple, and ham) with a side of the Okra to share. Mom got the ham and cheese sandwich. The pizza was nice but the mushrooms were obviously canned (not my favorite). Not being too hungry, I brought have of it home. I really liked the okra as did mom. It was a reminder of the days we grew it and fixed it when I was a kid. There was such a large serving, again more for the refrigerator at home. Mom enjoyed the ham and cheese. There were so many fries it was almost a joke. She took half the sandwich and almost all of the fries home too. The atmosphere was nice. It was interesting interior. The tables were definitely a BBQ vibe. Our server was great. She was very quick. We laughed because when going between kitchen and other patrons, she flew by. She must be exhausted by the end of the shift.

Someone recommended this place to my husband and I am so glad we tried it. It's a different experience, dining inside an old train, gives you a different dining experience. Service is kinda slow, we almost cancelled our appetizers, figuring it will come out, same time as our entrees. As soon as we told our server, not even a minute passed and she came out with our appetizers. Odd...Food is good but not great. They use barbecue sauce a dipping sauce for everything. But I wouldn't mind coming back to try other items in their menu.

    Pulled Pork Sandwich.

If you like flavourless barbecue and the taste of disappointment, this is the place to go! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and my sister ordered the BBQ beef sandwich. The sauce was thin and watery and lacked any flavour component. It needed vinegar and or mustard to add some tang and flavour to the sauce. The meat in both sandwiches were completely devoid of taste. A bit dry and very disappointing despite paying over $15 each. The salad bar for an additional $2 was just OK. Nothing great or outstanding. The server was kind and polite, but the service was lacking. We had to track someone down to get extra napkins. In the end we packaged up the sandwiches and took them home. Added some Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce so they wouldn't be so challenging to eat and add some missing taste. They also charged us $1.53 to use a credit card. Nope. Never going back to this disaster again. Wayno

We were pretty excited as we walked in. The atmosphere inside was cool, I really thought it was a cool touch with the old train car that you sit in. The service was fine, it was a little odd with the robotic delivery thing that brought the food to the table along with the waitress. Where I really can't give a good rating is the food. I ordered the brisket plate, a coworker ordered the chicken. The first red flag was that it took only about 2 minutes from the time we put our order in until the food showed up at the table. I don't think I've ever seen food come out of any restaurant so fast, unless it was a fast food place. I was so focused on the wrinkled, withered half chicken on my coworkers plate that I didn't really even pay attention to my brisket. The chicken looked like it had been overcooked for way too long, and then had probably sat underneath the heat lamp for quite a bit longer. Watching him try to cut through the skin with a steak knife would have been really funny, except we were both pretty hungry. When I got to my brisket, there were several good size slices of meat. There was a smoke ring evident on the top of the meat, but none on the bottom. My guess is that it had probably been smoked on a flat pan or something else that kept smoke off. The overall smoke flavor was fairly weak, nowhere near what I expected for a brisket. The worst part however, was that I needed a steak knife also to cut into my brisket. It was tough and dry. My best guess, based on the texture and a weird aftertaste, is that it had been smoked, sliced and frozen, and was then reheated in a microwave (if you've ever nuked a steak, you know how it makes the meat taste). The coleslaw and beans served as sides were alright, though the beans were over salted. Overall, this was a disappointment for food. Neither my coworker or myself were able to eat more than half of the meal, and I would not recommend it to anyone expecting good BBQ.

You order at a counter here and the line was a bit long, but moved in good time. To say the place is basic is an understatement. Staff is friendly and efficient so things do move along. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a spicy mac and cheese side, plus a lemonade. It came as a 'meal' with one price, and on the higher price side too. After sitting down the meal arrived pronto, in almost a shockingly short time. So they obviously have it down pat. The sandwich was just OK. A bit dry and on a plain bun it didn't hit the mark. The sauce was not that impressive either. Ths side of mac and cheese was slightly better, but not as spicy as I had hoped. It gets rave reviews from the locals. Hmmm. I'd try this place again but it's not going to rise above being what it is, a simple and rather underwhelming BBQ joint.

Even on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-April, this joint was bustling with live music, servers rushing about in their period costumes, and the chatter of happy patrons enjoying themselves and taking it all in. Whether a lover of frontier history, western cinema, or just plain ol' drinking in a genuine saloon, Big Nose Kate's screams, "WELCOME TO THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE!" Upon entering, our party was seated in a raised section above the main floor near the front windows. It was an excellent spot to see all the action (including a monitor playing the movie Tombstone, BTW) as we perused the menu of appetizers, entrees, and libations. The selection of specialty drinks was impressive, though I opted for a simple "Big Ass" draft pilsner (flavorful and locally brewed). My wife did order a Cowboy Sangria - and it appears wimpy drinks "don't go around here, Law Dog," because she thought it was good but a bit too strong. I actually had to finish it for her. (Such a chivalrous sacrifice!) But don't assume that Kate's is just a drinking establishment; there's quite a variety of eats, as well. Good-sized, tasty looking burgers and sandwiches passed by our table, which were tempting; however, not being overly hungry, we decided to sample a few of their appetizers as we moved on to another round of beers. The Buffalo Wings were good but nothing really special. The Soft Pretzel Basket - actually one HUGE pretzel served with cheese and mustard sauces - was warm, salty, and much bigger than anyone anticipated. It was enjoyed by our entire table. When visiting, don't neglect a trip to the gift shop, which can be accessed from a spiral staircase right in the center of the dining area. Their menu recounts that a part of this underground area was once the abode of the saloon's swamper, and you can even view his living cubby and mining tunnel when below. Of course, there's lots of branded swag available for sale down there, too! Big Nose Kate's Saloon is a must-see stop for Tombstone visitors. Priced aren't exorbitant, portions are generous, and the food and drinks are pretty darned good, as was evident from the satisfied looks of the diners and drinkers around us . You may even be approached by Steve, who offers FREE photos (from your personal camera or phone) with props and piano-top poses - now how can you beat that value? Make it a point to come on in, belly up to the bar, and enjoy the saloon's hospitality.
