Another fabulous experience. We are so happy to have a delicious food option in town. Some nights you just want someone else to cook for you. My wife and I enjoy the perfectly cooked and well seasoned bunless cheeseburger (with extra patty), while the kids love the jumbo hot dogs. I still need to try the tacos, so we will be back soon! Despite the reviews, this place felt very 'off' and I wish I had gone with my intuition and left. I was the only one there, and felt pressured to order something... I took 1 bite of the burger and spit it out... If people in Bowie, AZ think this is good food, well that is telling. Every element of the burger was fast-food grade, and the beef was questionable, like the bottom-of-the-barrel stuff in the opaque tubes from Walmart, you know the kind your trailer-dwelling trash-burning neighbor Dale buys for his cookouts. A wonderful selection of sweet snacks, and some sugar-free ones . All or most seem to be made locally. There are amazing sugar free and gluten free jerky available, along with all different flavors of jerky available. There is a nice selection of nuts done many different ways, along with locally made huckleberry gummies and sticks. Local honey is also available, the prices are decent. Was an excellent stop. Ordered the Sonoran dog and the taco fries, which turned out to be enough to feed a family of four. Both were fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend the stop if you're traveling in the area. Lady that runs it is very friendly. The shop next to it has a large selection of jerky, candy and salsa. Give it a shot too, too full to try any of what I bought yet, the peanut butter fudge could tempt though. read more

Woe to you poor souls who drive past this town without stopping for the most amazing quesadilla you have EVER HAD. Not just some flat tortilla with some mushy cheese... oh no. Read the reviews. We almost passed by thinking we don't want to sit outside in 90-degree heat at a food truck. Oh, my word. Yelp did not steer us wrong. Yes, the chicken quesadilla was amazing. It has a kick but it's a mouthful of sheer delight in every bite. Go all out with tomatoes and onions. My husband had the bacon cheeseburger - even without a bun he said it was incredible. My daughter inhaled her plain cheese quesadilla. Then we split the pecan pie. Apparently it's the owner's wife's grandmother's original Southern recipe. And it tasted like it. Even if you just stop at the cute little jerky store for some of the great collection of nuts, spices, jellies etc make sure to get a piece of pie to go! (And the canopy created a nice breeze so it wasn't unpleasant eating outside at the picnic tables at all.) read more

I really liked their chicken sandwich. It's grilled and was so tender. I loved the toppings also. Their Sonoran hotdog was also very tasty and just covered in lovely, messy beans, a delightfully tasty mess! The second time I had their chicken sandwich, it wasn't quite as tender. It didn't seem like it was cooked all the way through so I took it home, disassembled the sandwich and cooked the chicken patty a little more. It was better but not as good as Rafter G's coulda made it. I recommend stopping there for a meal on your way further down the road. Happy Trails. read more

My husband and I stopped here with our baby about a week ago to grab a burger, and it was the most unexpectedly delightful experience. The owner took our order, chatted with us about the town, and asked nice questions about our daughter and trip. When the food was ready, she lent us the most adorable booster seat we have ever seen for our baby to sit in while we ate. So thoughtful and so kind. Our baby loved having her own chair and squealed and smiled the entire meal. (So did we!) The burgers were also delicious and really hit the spot. Later, the owner briefly left the food truck. When she returned, she stopped by our table with a unicorn toy and lollipop for our girl. She had gone inside the store next door to find a gift for our baby. I am still blown away and in shock from the gesture. Thank you for creating an unforgettable experience. We will definitely return any time we find ourselves passing through Bowie again. Awesome stop in Bowie, just off business loop Rt 10. It's actually part of the souvenir and jerky business. Burgers are fresh and delicious. Service is friendly. Restrooms are clean. And the store is a nice stop. So glad we made this stop on our cross country trip. read more

What an unexpected and wonderful surprise! I pulled off the 10 freeway in Bowie, AZ for 2 reasons, I'm a big David Bowie fan so I wanted to take a picture, AND there was a sign advertising "Penni's INCREDIBLE pecan pie! Don't EVER shut your pie hole!" Well, how could I resist? My 1991 Toyota Odyssey is named PENNY, after all! On arrival this place turned out to be a really sweet spot. Small RV park nestled in the pecan trees, a couple of gas pumps, convenience store, and RAFTER G's! I didn't know how hungry I was until I smelled what was coming out of that little food truck. They were just about closed but when Steve saw the sad look on my face he agreed to whip me up some tacos in a flash. OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!! Now, I live in Los Angeles, and I spend a good part of the year down in Baja, California Sur so let's just say I've eaten a few tacos. These were by far some of the tastiest tacos I've had. Ever. I try not to eat too much red meat but when Steve described his marinade I couldn't say no! I ordered one carne and and one each featuring the different beans he had cooked up. A spicy (but not too spicy) ranch bean, and a delicious simple pinto bean. All three tacos were topped with fresh crunchy cabbage - my favorite - and grated cheese. The BEST part and something I've NEVER seen before was that there was AN EXTRA TORTILLA at the bottom of the plate to make an extra taco out of everything that had fallen out of the first 3! GENIUS!! So thoughtful. I thought I'd be saving some leftovers for the next day but.....UH UH. I gobbled up every single bite. The salsa was delicious too, fresh and house made. The main ingredient in this food, what made it so delicious? The LOVE that went into making it. This food was made with LOVE and care and good vibes and you can taste that in every bite. I got 2 pieces of the pecan pie to go, there was no way I could have eaten them that night. And I must say, it was the BEST I've ever tased - the chocolate bourbon one was unbelievable! And I don't usually care for pecan pie! Just a couple of bites really satisfy the sweet craving so I've been nibbling on that pie for a few days now. About to head down the road, I noticed a man cleaning the bathroom, I asked about the gas pumps and he said, "How did you like your tacos?" It was Steve! The same incredible chef who made that amazingly good food was now working hard to keep the place nice and clean. I'll definitely return to this place to spend a night nestled under the pecan trees. I'll return for the pie, the tacos, but mostly for the positive vibration and soul of this place. You should go check it out next time you're out that way. Say HI to Steve for me. read more

The pecan pie was amazing. The best I've ever had. You could taste the vanilla and butter - nothing artificial here. Local pecans too!
