Excellent food in Willcox near the highway. We enjoyed a tasty lunch - burger, pulled pork, French dip sandwich - and it was all delicious and served hot. The kitchen was very busy on a Sunday midday and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. It was worth the wait. This looks like a ramshackle hole in the wall from the outside but it's a clean, simple family place for some good food . After a very long day of hiking the Chiricuahua's, my family and worked up quite the appetite and we were wanting something other than fast food, and then we found this place on Yelp and it looked and sounded so good just reading online so we decided to stop here before heading home to Tucson, and I am so glad we did. The place was pretty busy, every table pretty much has guests so we had to wait but the wait honestly was a couple of minutes. The staff had their hands full but you would never know it - they were super kind and fast with their service. It's a decent size restaurant with indoor seating and a patio and it was nice and clean. I was craving a nice cold salad and their salad bar hit the spot! everything was crisp, cold and fresh and the blue cheese was so good. I especially loved the tea and the sweet tea they both were super refreshing and even the water tasted so good. They serve the drinks in giant mason jars which I loved. Do not skip the Brussel sprouts or the green beans! We had steak, chicken fried steak, a burger and they even had my daughter's favorite, spaghetti, and it all was a hit for us. We were on our way to Apple Annie's when we decided to stop by. A western themed (sort of) restaurant. We each ordered the prime rib dip. It was good, but quite expensive. The meal does not come with any side dishes. Those are $6 extra. Spendy for a baked potato or very limited one trip salad bar. The Brussels Sprouts appetizer was $13. We passed. The prime rib sandwich and side were $23 (no drinks). Overpriced for an area where the median income is about $40,000. Service was good, but the restaurant was quite loud. read more

14 oz prime rib cooked medium rare. Was cooked just right with the horseradish sauce makes a delightful pairing. You also get 2 sides which I got the Mac & cheese ended up a little soupy I feel they need to add more flower to the rue. Also the Pinto beans however I view this as a blunder and should've gotten the fried okra. As a family member ordered that and ended up winning as the favorite side. If you attend on a weekday I would get the chicken fried steak as it's a proper done meal as every bite was consistent in flavor and texture. Pounded throughly and cook quite nicely, and a healthy amount of gravy. Caramel Churros are amazing a perfect confectionery of sweet and salty all backed up by the caramel inside of the churro. We drove 11 hours from Texas and stopped in Wilcox for the night. Researched restaurants about an hour before we got here and thought this place would hit the spot. Walked in and immediately new this place was going to be great. Tristin was holding court manning all the tables, but still immediately greeted us. He was amazing and super helpful with the menu. I ordered the Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon and onion. It was amazing! Not only cooked perfectly, but the seasoning and flavor including the quality of beef was really good. The homemade horseradish sauce was also a hit. My husband ordered a burger and fries. Fries are fresh in-house I think, at least that's the way they tasted and looked, not greasy at all. The 1/2 pound patty was also delicious. A bonus is they have a local wine on the menu that was also a nice surprise. This place definitely deserves a visit. We travel a lot and when you're stopping in random towns, quality food is usually not available. This restaurant clearly cares about their customers regardless of being local or passing through and their quality of food speaks for itself. The burger was made with angus beef; it was super juicy and flavorful. I also tried the French Onion Dip sandwich with steak fries. It was pretty good, but not the best I've had. The onion dip paired really well with the sandwich and the fries. I liked that they had a self served salad bar (not unlimited though). The salad bar is a one time access, ordered either as a large plate or included as a side with an entry (smaller salad bowl provided if it's a side). Good place overall with plenty of options. Party of 9 and there were multiple open tables but the servers told us it would be 30 mins to be seated. We asked if we can just squeeze in on a 6 seat table. We had 2 small kids that were able to make that manageable. Our server took our drink order and completely skipped one adult in our party. I ordered sweet tea and it was not sweet. I asked for sweet tea and seemed like I was annoying our server. Our food took about 40 mins to come out and we ordered steak fries but they were more shoestring than steak fries. The steak was well prepared and the baked potato was good. The Double S Steak Salad was underwhelming: a bed of iceberg lettuce, some chopped tomato, bunch of red onion and about 1/4 avocado and maybe 5 small steak strips. In addition to special date nights with the Missus, it's become a go-to family restaurant anytime we go glamping at the KOA Holiday on the other side of the freeway. It was late, we were hungry, and an hour from home so we decided to stop at Double S Steakhouse. Wow! It was delicious! My husband had the tenderloin steak with baked potato and potato salad. The steak was cooked to order. It was good along with the baked potato. I had the turkey, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber wrap. It was HUGE! And delicious!!!! I also had the pinto beans which were perfectly seasoned and tasty. Since my husband doesn't like potato salad (he chose it for me), I tried it and it didn't disappoint. My husband's meal also came with a roasted pepper and it too was wonderful. The chef must love cooking because it comes through in the meals. I had not enjoyed such a perfectly delicious meal like this in years. Also, the sweet tea was fantastic. We will definitely stop here again whenever we are in the area. And since we are only an hour away, we might just make a trip specifically to eat here again! Don't order fancy. The Prime Rib on Fridays and Saturdays after 5 is very good. The steak salad is solid. The 14 oz Ribeye was thin but properly cooked. I made the mistake of ordering Brussels sprouts, which were overcooked, shredded, included stalks and were overwhelmed with onions. This is the land of outlaws, cowboys and (formerly) Apache. Order as straight as you can and don't bother with the local wine, which is poor. Order the Pendleton Double S cocktail. Tables are big blocky things with unfinished chairs, and the big ones are saved for groups, so you might have to wait. The small bar in the corner can be fun when it's busy. Service is just good enough, don't expect them to wait on you, more than minimally. Prices have gone up, as elsewhere, and it's not the hidden gem it once was. We came here for dinner Saturday night and there were only a few other tables of people there. I loved the decorations and everyone was really nice. I had the filet mignon and my boyfriend ordered a different steak, both medium rare. Both of our steaks came out black and blue. We sent them back and they reheated them. They were both still rare. I ate a small bite and it tasted like someone had poured salt on the steak... like a piece of meat and a spoonful of salt. He ate what he could of his because he was starving by this point and didn't want to wait again for them to cook it. They replaced my steak and this time it was cooked closer to medium rare but didn't have much other seasoning/ flavor. Maybe they just have a seasoning mix that already has an insane amount of salt in it and they just didn't want to use it on mine at all so they didn't flavor the steak? The brussel sprouts come in almost a soup and it was also really salty and not very good. They were out of fried okra so we couldn't try that. The salad bar was good and I liked their ranch. In Wilcox for work and was craving a steak. Very friendly staff, prices were a little high but worth it. I've ate a lot of steak in my day and this Ribeye was definitely top 5, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I paid a little extra for the bacon wrapped asparagus as a side which I recommend, it was also very delicious. The mashed potatoes were mid and the roll was a little crusty "probably because it was towards the end of the night." If I'm in town still next week I am definitely trying the Texas Twinkies, might have to dabble with the cobbler if I'm feeling frisky. read more

Have been here numerous times however this time the menu has changed. The menu prices have increased significantly. We ordered the Prime Rib, one trip salad bar & baked potato w/butter. Our other entree was the Ribeye Steak, baked potato w/butter & pinto beans. Our steaks were cooked how we liked them, one baked potato had sour cream on it (didn't order like that), surprisingly the pinto beans were pretty flavorless, the one trip to the salad bar was served in a pretty small bowl. My problem was ordering a nice steak dinner for $34.99 & then having to pay $5.99 for each side - no longer included in the meal price. I think $5.99 for a baked potato is ridiculous as well as about 6 oz. of beans for an additional $5.99. Our 2 drinks (Crown & Coke) were $9.00 each. Pretty expensive dinner for the City of Willcox. They were pretty busy (Saturday evening) & it took about 10-15 minutes to have our order taken. The menu has also been downsized quite a bit. Very disappointed with the sides that are offered & the lack of soup & salad - unless you do the salad bar one trip or large plate size for $12.99. Overall I will probably look for other options available in Willcox although not many options available. read more

I was attracted to this place by Yelps pictures of their food/drinks.... Before my behind even touched the barstool.... the guy (I think Trevor is his name) was already demanding what I want to drink.... let me tell you... it was only me there... and a 4 top finishing up at the other end of the restaurant. I felt so unwelcomed and rushed. I told him there is no rush... I'm going to enjoy a drink while I decide on food. I ordered the 10oz ribeye which was cooked to perfection side of fried okra + fries... also very good! Bottles here taste watered down.... I tried a couple different liquors that I'm familiar with... definitely not the proof on the bottle. That's suspicious The ambiance was ok... I kept getting bothered by flies on my face and ears... also itchy legs from bugs floating around. Forgot to mention....
