Have been here numerous times however this time the menu has changed. The menu prices have increased significantly. We ordered the Prime Rib, one trip salad bar & baked potato w/butter. Our other entree was the Ribeye Steak, baked potato w/butter & pinto beans. Our steaks were cooked how we liked them, one baked potato had sour cream on it (didn't order like that), surprisingly the pinto beans were pretty flavorless, the one trip to the salad bar was served in a pretty small bowl. My problem was ordering a nice steak dinner for $34.99 & then having to pay $5.99 for each side - no longer included in the meal price. I think $5.99 for a baked potato is ridiculous as well as about 6 oz. of beans for an additional $5.99. Our 2 drinks (Crown & Coke) were $9.00 each. Pretty expensive dinner for the City of Willcox. They were pretty busy (Saturday evening) & it took about 10-15 minutes to have our order taken. The menu has also been downsized quite a bit. Very disappointed with the sides that are offered & the lack of soup & salad - unless you do the salad bar one trip or large plate size for $12.99. Overall I will probably look for other options available in Willcox although not many options available. read more

Great food. Cute little country steakhouse we stopped in while traveling. Place was packed so service was slow but the server was super friendly so it was understandable and fine with us. Unfortunately they just sold out of the prime rib while we were ordering but everyone who ordered it seem to really enjoy it. We got a steak salad and a ribeye platter. Everything was delicious. Also got a side of the Brussels sprouts which were prepared different but unique. They were in a beef broth with cashews. Was scared when they came but even my husband lined them and he doesn't normally eat Brussels sprouts. Would recommend this place but it's busy so be patient. read more

We're on the way back from Alabama to California and we stopped at Wilcox for the night. Everyone's been craving steak and stopped here! The ambience and design was very nice along with the outdoor seating. We got two 14 oz steaks and shared which was plenty! We ordered medium rare and it was very tender, juicy, and savory. The main focus was the meat which was spot on with the a1 sauce! However, I wish we were given a bit more sides and the baked potato was a little more baked. The bread was okay, a bit dry but we were given butter so that helped :) overall great experience, would definitely go here again! Very good dinner! read more

Two check ins in two days must say something Came to Wilcox to stay as we explored the area. Both days after adventure we found ourselves here eating. It's so good and I have today they have the best ice tea. Dinner was steak and potatoes and chicken fried steak and both were so very good. The next day was French dips all around. Pretty decent steakhouse. Not a classic luxe experience, feels a bit more like a neighborhood diner. This establishment is plainer, more of a mom and pop operation, than others I've sampled in the towns on the interstate between Tucson and San Antonio. Rib eye was entirely acceptable. One plus is that they have wines from a local winery on the menu. That doesn't mean they have them in inventory, though, as my first choice was unavailable. Server was unable to describe what these wines were (like, what grapes?) which was a lapse. But it adds some local color to the Willcox dining experience. read more

As always my wife and I went to this restaurant. It is definitely newer because we didn't see it the last time we were in Willcox in April. My wife ordered the Grilled Cheese with Avocado and Bacon. She absolutely loved it! I had the Cheesy Chicken Burger. The Chicken was smothered in sauce and I was a little worried that the burger would fall apart but after the first bite, I ate it so fast, that burger integrity wasn't a problem! It was ridiculous, in a good way. The waiter we had was excellent and the food was better! I saw what I assume was the manager or owner sitting with guests at tables which was a nice touch. She didn't make it to our table but I won't hold that against her. This place is cozy and fresh. It is very inviting and I look forward to visiting when the weather is cooler because they had a nice patio. I definitely will bring my In-Laws back to check it out when we visit Willcox again in October. If you are close by, do yourself a favor and come visit, you won't be sorry! read more

Stopped in and enjoyed the rib-eye steak salad while visiting for the Rex Allen Days for the gun show, rodeo, and the The Wild Bunch Film Festival. The steak salad is tasty and wonderful with the lime dressing. The atmosphere is western classic and casual dress or dress up. There is a small inside too. The wait staff are nice, polite and helpful. Easy access to the location from I-10 and Rex Allen Drive. If you're going there at night, there is very little lighting at this location on the outside on a unimproved parking lot. (dirt lot) It's one of the local favorites and I recommend it. read more

No complaints regarding the salad bar or mashed potatoes. I am in town again I might give the prime rib a whirl although it's only served Friday and Saturday. There aren't a ton of options in Willcox and this restaurant is fine. In fairness I got the chopped salad so I can't comment on their steaks. Desert was pretty good. 2 star instant reduction for the instant "not want to be here attitude" from the waitress just taking our drink order. Then, it took forever after that and I think we got another waitress, which was 100% improvement, but then, we got another waitress to serve our food, but then to cash out, which took forever we got the helper waitresses I think. Either way, no consistency. A little confusion with the restaurant help. The 4 of us though, loved the food. I had a green-Chile cheeseburger with fries. I tried my wife's chicken fried steak with mash potatoes. All were really good. Friends had chicken fried steak and a turkey sandwich and gave a "yummy" approval. We sat outside, and it was clean, but a little noise from the street. Overall, I think I would come here again, but hopefully with service figured out next time. read more

We stopped on our trek back from Austin. Easy to get to from the freeway. It's a good size cafe, but it was packed when we got there at 1:00. Some of the tables for 2 are really wide - I felt like I was yelling to carry on a conversation. The staff were great. Personable, and helpful. We were a little disappointed that they weren't carrying their waffle-cut sweet potato fries anymore - the pictures left us craving them. We ordered sandwiches - BLTs. Love the other side options. Second time here and it rocks. I'm here from Texas and I can honestly say that the sweet tea is fantastic and one of the few places you can get sweet tea in Willcox. I had the Longhorn and it was phenomenal with a burger patty on top of Texas toast and the covered with cheese, jalapeños, red onions and pinto beans. If that wasn't enough those hand cut steak fries were plenty delicious. Zero masks on employees. I got carry out, and the waitress asked if I needed utensils. I said yes, but when I got to the hotel room, I had no napkins or utensils in the bag. The turkey cranberry bacon melt had nothing at all cranberry on it. Nothing. Sweet potato fries tasted of old grease. We called in an order to go and when we arrived decided to eat it there as we had been on the road close to 10 hours. The waitress/hostess actually said were about to close and gave us a look as if she didn't want us to eat there. (Hours state everywhere they're open until 9) The what I'd assume was the chef or owner overheard said it was okay for us to eat in. No sooner than we sat down another group comes in behind us. They get sat down too. Our food came out very fast since we had called it in. I got a cheeseburger with Mac n cheese. 8/10 - it was perfect but the garnishings were odd. The onion was dried out like it sat out overnight and had zero flavor. Lettuce was soft, not crunchy or crisp. Tomato was red and watery. Husband got a filet with mashed potatoes. Rates his meal an 8/10. 2 1/2 year old daughter got chicken strips and green beans as her side. Chicken strips were just generic frozen then deep fried strips. Green beans seemed like they were a last minute preparation, nothing special. The ranch dressing is homemade and delicious. 10/10 We paid $55 dollars for this meal. Would not say that it was worth what we paid but it was good. I think I would have felt the same satisfaction with a McDouble from McDonalds and avoided the awkward feeling of standing there waiting for permission to eat our meal there since they were "closing" before posted closing time. As we left another couple tried to come in to eat and they actually turned them away. Obviously this is my personal opinion but I would not be turning down paying customers to my restaurant just because I wanted to close early. It seems like the town is already hurting a little. We had our anniversary dinner here as we were staying right down the street at the KOA and wanted an fancy dinner. The steak was excellent. My husband ordered the ribeye and I got the filet. Both were cooked to the correct temperature (which is a rare thing nowadays) and the flavor was excellent. The sides and salad bar were great! Our young children enjoyed the steak and their mac and cheese. The bar was really nice and my margarita was tasty. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
