Unfortunately, this place is an utter disappointment all around. We walked in to a packed house on a Saturday night, so understandably we waited for a table to be cleared. That process alone took over 10 minutes and that should've been our cue to leave, but we decided to keep faith. The place began to clear and we we seated to a dirty table, which took almost 5 minutes to get cleaned off. To make this brief: The waitress was very poor (couldn't remember who had what the entire night), the food was mediocre at best (my wife and I didn't even finish our meals), and the place was a mess. Sunday afternoon about 4 PM my wife and I stopped in to try Big Mikes pizza. We ordered the supreme pizza. There were only about a dozen patrons but service was slow and they appeared to be well staffed. The pizza was served more than 35 minutes after we ordered. The crust was burned black in some areas, but the pizza was only luke warm; not nice. They charged us more than twice what we normally pay at other restaurants for draft beer. You will likely get better service and food at one of the chain pizza shops; and for much less! read more

Food is delicious. The pizza is crispy on the outside and light on the inside, just perfect. Made a perfect white pizza. The garlic knots may be the best thing I have ever eaten, ever. Everyone was friendly and they were busy but our order came out in decent time, was hot and delicious. read more

Good pizza here. I think the smell referenced in other reviews is pungent parmesan, nothing unusual for a pizza place.

I only eat the pizza here, so that is all I can comment on. I personally love the pizza...large slices, gooey, tasty, stretchy cheese, and a good sauce. Crust edge is always crispy, only complaint is that nearer to the middle of the pizza it can be a bit greasy/soggy at times. I remedy that (when I get it to take home) by heating up my slices in a pan on the stovetop. A few minutes in the pan (covered loosely with foil) and you have a super crispy crust. Leftover pizza is great when reheated this way, too. The lunch buffet is a good value, all the soup, salad, garlic knots, and pizza you can eat. The garlic knots tend to be greasy, but the soup is good. The salad is fair at best, they bring you iceberg lettuce in a small bowl, with some thin onion and green pepper slices for garnish. You can ask for more salad, so don't let the small bowl size dismay you. ( In any event, I don't really go there for the salad.) Ambiance and decor is not good....very sports oriented, big screen tv but all they seem to show at any hour is something sports related (and I don't like sports so its a huge yawn fest for me). Just tables, some pin ball machines, some random sports stuff on the walls. I don't really drink much beer so I can't comment on the alcohol selection. read more

Thought I'd give them a chance since I like to patronize local rather than chain establishments. MISTAKE -- I'd have been better off going to Subway. I stopped in at lunch time to get a sub to go ... it took them more than 20 minutes to get it to me. This sub had a 2-ply layer of salami and one layer of cheese. Pretty pathetic. I also asked for it cold, and it was toasted. They also had a pizza buffet set up, which also looked pretty sorry. The only good thing was the bartender who took my order -- very nice. the wait staff needs to get with it. slow is not the word for it. 15 minutes to get a drink order for two people. the pizza was hot but we preordered wings and got all food at same time. this was my third visit. still trying to give them a chance. but the wait staff needs to be more organized. the check was 56.44 for one pizza (21.95) wings and two unsweet teas. thought this was very pricy! read more

for parents of kids who are picky, be sure to ask them not to sprinkle parsley on your pizza. other than that, the pizza is really good, pasta dish was ehhh. garlic rolls were amazing. we will definitely be going back! read more

Second week in Brevard NC and our third visit to Big Mike's. Really enjoyed the lasagna.

This was the worst excuse for a pizza I had in a long time. The bottom crust was so soggy, it was dripping wet. It was a take-out order for us. When we cut into the pizza, there was a layer of parchment paper underneath. Since the crust was soooooo soggy, cheese & sauce stuck to the parchment paper. Additionally, the cheese was more like a rubberized string cheese--the lowest quality of cheese possible. Our toppings consisted of roasted red peppers. What we got were several strips of jarred red pepper--nothing fresh. Also asked for spinach. What we received was a sparingly splatter of baby spinach leaves that were burnt to a crisp in the over. Also asked for mushrooms. Again, they were canned mushrooms--nothing fresh. The last item were olives--they come out of a can, so can't mess them up. It was one, big soggy mess for $21.72 for a 16" pizza. Never again. read more

Found this place by accident while visiting downtown Brevard. Excellent food and service. Chicken wings were large and fresh. Our picky eater daughter designed her own slice of pizza that was almost too big to eat. Good support for local microbreweries and knew a great deal about the seasonal beers. Will definitely be returning! read more

Went here once in Oct. Total chaos on a Saturday night. No one to greet us. Just stand in line and wait with others for a table to open. A waitress spilled marinara on my shirt, pants and hair. Didn't even offer to comp me my wine or part of our dinner. Where is the management in this place? It's dirty and lay out is ridiculous. Don't even remember the food. Won't be back. read more

Small, off the beaten path pizza place... Really good pizza! We got the white pizza and added meatballs and it was soooo good. Really good crust. We had them run it through the oven a second time because we like our crust crispy.... Great wait staff- especially on a very busy day- it definitely took a long time to get our food, but it was on a festival day, so it may have been hard to keep up.... Big Mike better get his s__t together. Walked in at 6:20pm on a Thursday nite and all the tables were full. There is no hostess so when someone gets up you just seat yourself at a dirty table. The service was awful. Saw a table who had been served drinks and was waiting for their order to be taken, just walked out! There were 4 waitresses and only 13 tables. Totally disorganized! After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes, and watching two tables come in after us and get served before us, we were told by the manager that "everybody is waiting" as if that made it OK. Somehow two pizzas required 75 minutes to serve, and the place was not packed. In addition the waitress told us that the oven only holds 5 pizzas and it wasn't her fault, which didn't make us feel any better about our experience. We never received an apology. read more

Pizza is very greasy. Not a place to go if you want to talk to the people you are with because it's so loud with the football games blaring and people having to talk loud to be heard over the T.V. and God help you if an acquaintance of Mikes comes in.....you just have to sit and wait and forget about conversation. Yes, he's from the North and I hear they make the best pizzas but I didn't experience anything that special. My salad was fresh, thank goodness I had that to eat. If you're used to eating loads of fatty greasy foods then this will work great for you and Mike can talk football with you all day long...we all came out shaking our heads rubbing our troubled tummies. read more
