Big Mike's BBQ is at the top of my list of great bbq in the Asheville area. Some barbecue places have just ok bbq with great sides... Big Mike's has great barbecue and great sides! Random, but probably the best coleslaw I've ever had. Big portions.... Great flavor... lots of sauce options. Just overall good quality food!

It smells soooo good when you pull into the parking lot. This was my first visit but definitely won't be my last. The hush puppies are perfect, brown and crunchy outside and tender inside. The brisket bbq is wonderful, the brisket was tender and the sauce had a sweet and spicy kick to it - absolutely loved it. You can call and order ahead, they also have tables and chairs outside as well. They even take care of a sweet orange kitty.

Whatever the problem was they didn't mind trying to explain how mad they were and continued the vocal exchange each time they came in and out of the kitchen, the manager 'I assume' was none the wiser to all the commotion going on and kept his head down and continued to seat customers while on his phone. I won't even bring up the obvious mold all over the ceiling. I don't know if I was in an episode of Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares, but either way Gordon Ramsey would have been pissed and shut the restaurant down. We have given y'all 3 chances (3 too many) so I guess we are back to looking for a place for local breakfast on weekends. PS- with the price of everything now a day you should be honored the people want to spend their hard earned money with you and not take it for granted.

The property where this horseshoe farm sits is just so beautiful. We parked at the spa and walked to the silo restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted immediately and took a seat by the fireplace while waiting for my parents to arrive. We then ordered a drink and went and sat on the patio since they were running just a little bit late. Upon arrival, we were greeted once again by our waitress that took our order and kept our water and tea filled to the brim. We ordered the soup of the day and shared the Lamburgesa. The soup was served piping hot and broth was delicious. The lamb was so flavorful, but we opted to have the jalapenos on the side. My parents ordered the Broad Burger and were equally pleased.

This restaurant was a mile away and we decided to stop there first. It's a bit of a drive from the N Rigby entrance to the the cookhouse but a beautiful ride with green fields and a stunning view of Mt. Pisgah. We were greeted by a hostess who brought us to the porch in the rear. The first thing I noticed was the sound of many voices to both sides. It was more obvious upon entering that there were multiple groups seated at both sides along community tables. We were seated in the middle of the table to the right and chose to sit across from each other. Our server, Kara, was pleasant and helpful. We ordered from the brunch menu we were given by the hostess. I ordered the scrambled egg bowl and enjoyed the best tasting egg flavor I've had in a long time. The greens, pickled onions, feta cheese and other vegetables complimented the dish perfectly. My partner wasn't sure about ground lamb ( since there are several renditions of it) but took a chance with the lamb burger and was glad she did. The fries that came with it we shared; they were crispy as we like them. She ordered a virgin bloody Mary and enjoyed it. That said the Worcestershire sauce flavor was quite pronounced and it might not be to everyone's liking. We have had several lunches and brunches over the last several days and this was the least $. I think we adjusted to the sound level after a few minutes and did strike up a conversation with some folks who came in after we did and sat nearby.
