I will be going back to make more in-depth reviews on this wonderful restaurant in the future. For this I can't give this spot a 5 star rating yet. The location is easy to spot via the well-lit sign as shown in the picture. The ambiance was inviting both inside and out. The interior looked clean. As for service, the drive thru was quick especially on a Friday evening during a Summer in Michigan. I honestly forgot everything I ordered but I do remember that I got 2 burritos and I felt the size of them justified the price I paid (under 10 dollars for two burritos comparable to one from Qdoba or chipotle). I will be going back to get more food and perform a more in-depth review. It was a drive for me as this location is about an hour away from me but I will be making that drive this year. And I can't wait for that time to come.

Wow. Having grown up in California, I know Del Taco very well. This isn't it. Seriously, euthanize…read morethis location. This franchisee is destroying the brand. I think when I ordered a Del Combo burrito and a Del Beef burrito with extra meat and extra cheese at their self-serve kiosk as the only customer in the store, I must have broken the whole system. After about 15 minutes of hearing the staff repeating my name over and over while working on my order and collectively staring at the order screens in the prep area, I guess I stumped them. The entire floor is sticky and most of the tables are disgustingly dirty. They were out of mild sauce, which is one of the primary reasons I used to go to Del Taco. Then, they served me a Del Combo burrito pictured here. Unacceptable. Why would the shift manager ever allow that to be served looking like that, even though the wrapper? If I had t waited so long for this slop already, I would have insisted they try again. But then, I can only imagine how that would have gone, so I opted not to give them another chance to fail worse. Close this location before someone gets sick.

The menu ranges from hamburgers to chicken to fish and more. One of us tried the spicy tenders and the other two went with the cod. Both were recommended by Norma. The spicy tenders were very spicy I'm told, but since they were all eaten, I'm gonna take it that those were pretty good. The cod meal was deep-fried so that was a bit of a negative as it was a bit on the greasy side. The fish was flaky. You had two options which were either two pieces or three pieces. Both of us went with two pieces. For both of us that was plenty to eat. You get a choice of sides. I went with the coleslaw and steamed broccoli. The coleslaw was excellent. It's just the way I like it, but people tend to like coleslaw differently. The steamed broccoli came in a cup and that was pretty good. The place is clean, there is plenty of seating, and there's a fountain of drinks to choose from.

Upon rolling up to the massive building, it dawned on me that it was my first time. I have had Chicago dogs and Italian beef just not from Portillo's! The overall vibe is surprisingly more restaurant-like than I expected - like the interior of a Yard House vs. the interior of a Carl's Jr/Hardee's. I was definitely expecting more fast-food-vibes! You do order at the digital kiosk for pick up but otherwise, it's very clean and spacious. Lots of large tables as well (there were a fair amount of large groups!). We had the: *Jumbo Hot Dog (with everything) - so the Chicago dog (Everything includes mustard, relish, celery salt, freshly chopped onions, sliced red ripe tomatoes, kosher pickle, and sport peppers piled onto a steamed poppy seed bun.) - Sorry I still think coneys are better BUT there was a nice snap to the dog and all the toppings were really fresh! *Italian Beef Sandwich ( Our famous, homemade, Italian beef is slow-roasted for four hours, thinly sliced, and served on freshly baked Turano French bread.) - we got this with both sweet & spicy peppers as well as with standard gravy. Their gravy is honestly more "au jus" like than like the gravy you'd have with pasties or at Thanksgiving dinner. Good flavors and again seemed really fresh! *THE CAKE SHAKE (Have you heard of our famous "cake shake?" Yes, we actually put a slice of chocolate cake into our blended milkshakes, making a truly unique, must-try dessert.) - While I haven't had the cake itself, I can imagine what it tastes like on its own - almost devil's food-cake esque as it's like chocolate on chocolate. My friends tell me there's mayo in it! It's quite sweet and decadent. Anyways it was a tasty shake and I do like that I got cake bit thru the straw! Service was quick and friendly! Also, very importantly - bathrooms were clean.

For my first visit here I got their basic cheeseburger where I added Bacon and a second patty upgrading from a 1/4 pounder to a 1/2 Lb burger. My Burger was cooked to perfection and probably the juiciest burger I have had in this area (get extra napkins(: ). It was very tasty and clearly in the upper echelon of the burgers I have tried. At $10.50 which included the two upgrades of bacon and 2nd patty was a deal in my opinion especially when you consider the quality of the burger. Relative to staff and facility, the staff was very friendly and checked in on me twice during my meal to include the owner which is amazing when you consider this is a counter order operation. Facility itself is clean and large with a lot of tables, both indoor and outdoor dining. This restaurant has an open kitchen/grill that is visible to the dining area offering great sight lines into their operation which I actually enjoyed. Overall a top shelf unpretentious burger centric joint. If you are into well made tasty burgers and are in the area than this is a must visit that should not be missed!
