I couldn't wait to try Shaqs chicken place! It did not disappoint. It's a counter service fast food joint. I got the chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken had just enough of a kick to not be to over powering. I did order cheese sauce on the side for my fries, there was a ton on peppers in it so I decided to pass on that. NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal has dipped his toes into the hot chicken wars with this franchise that he founded with corporate assistance in 2018. Big Chicken was also the name of a short-lived reality TV series that featured the former basketball star. This location used to be the home of another celebrity's hot chicken enterprise, but it only lasted a little over a year before permanently closing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside had plenty of orange including an autographed framed jersey from Shaq in that color hanging on a wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Three menu screens hung above the service counter. The left one featured five different sandwich combos. Two of them (Shaq Attack, Uncle Jerome's Nashville Spicy) were designated with a flame symbol indicating they were spicy. The middle screen listed the Tenders, Dunks, Wings, Sidekicks, Salads, and Sauces. Dunks were explained to me as small pieces of white chicken that were coated with a spicy breading and could be dipped in one of the six sauces. The right screen displayed the sweets... Shakes, Sundaes, Snacks, and Soft Drinks. I visited late in the evening when the workers were already mopping the dining room. Since I had eaten elsewhere, my goal was a small sample of one of the chicken products. My choice was the three-piece Tenders which came with two sauces. I selected the Carolina BBQ and Memphis BBQ. The first had a strong mustard flavor while the second had a sweet tomato base. As for the tenders, the crust was very crispy, almost overcooked. The shape of the pieces was odd and not uniform at all. That made it hard to dip into the sauce cups. For the price and quality of my food, I gave my visit to Big Chicken a 3.5 star rating. read more

Which ofcorse comes with fries and a drink. They use crinkle fries these fries are good and has everything you need or expect from a French fry. Now the sandwhich. I really wanted to enjoy this sandwhich. And as I was eating it I realized it was overcooked. The seasoning on this sandwhich is very flavorful. It has a ton of potential and I love chicken so it was very disappointing to get my sandwhich like this. However, everything else seems to be fine. This restaurant is new. My sandwich was fresh tasting. I am lactose intolerant, so I bought it without mayo. Excellent flavor, with just the right level of spice. The pickles and lettuce added juiciness. The chicken itself was crispy without being greasy. Overall the sandwich had a homemade taste. They've figured out how to make a great chicken sandwich. The fries were cooked perfectly, at the right temperature, and salted such that I didn't need to ask for ketchup. The restaurant offers two "gourmet" sodas so I opted for the cream soda with agave. Great choice, and free refills are available. The price was right at about $15. I'd recommend this restaurant for dinner over the nearby Chick-Fil-A. Great experience! Pros: food was fresh, cooked to order and served hot. Wings are delicious and mac and cheese is good compared to other fast food places. Tenders are a great size and friends perfectly. The service was great, the manager is up front making sure orders are timely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cons: Wish the wings had even more sauce but it's nice when you can get extra sauce on the side. I would like their fries with cheese but I didn't love the dirty fries. Overall we were satisfied and will be back to try more items on the menu. My wife and I decided to try this place. When we arrived the staff seemed friendly and eager to help. I ordered the chicken tenders combo and my wife orders the original combo and sat down. The food came out promptly. It appears that when we places the order they cooked our food as both came out hot and fresh. Her fries were hot but mine seemed a bit less. My tenders were hot and moose inside with the breading tasty. Her sandwich the chicken was moist breading was crunchy and tasty and it seemed to have come straight from the oven. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is still new so everything was nice clean and well maintained.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We watched the staff clean around the waste cans and they cleaned even the fronts not just the top. They wiped the tables and straightened the chairs. Overall a good job of upkeep.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was hot, prompt, tasty, and gets high marks. Now for the $64,000 dollar question would I go back. Delicious. With all of the chicken places that are popping up and closing, I hope this one sticks around. My only problem with this place is the deluxe is $1.50 that includes BLT . If you don't want bacon, it's still $1.50. That makes their deluxe BC meal $2 more than Chik-Fil-A's Deluxe half a mile away. However, BC's crinkle fries are near perfect; BEST IN THE AREA.
