I had a bad cold,so I used mobile app to order sliders from White Castle. Apparently White Castle is now using AI technology on drive thru,so I wasn't able to get a live staff member for my order. After waiting more than 20 minutes for my food to be brought to me outside,I got home and realized that the entire order was ice cold,and my sliders had nothing on them besides a few pickles and onions. You betcha, this guy loves me some classic white castle from time to time since it's not in Florida. Just had to do it while in town got those late night munchies and rode out with a childhood friend. I would have dined inside but it was closed for indoors. So we rolled through the drive thru and I ordered up six Castle burgers for myself while my friend sticks to the fish and fries cause he doesn't eat meat. Every time it's the same simple burger with onions, add your own condiments. It's not anything that good I just like em. Fun to go and just eat, plus for how cheap they're can't beat it. I guess that's the mystery of the missing link. If you only go to one White Castle in your life, make sure it's an 8 Mile White Castle, so's you get the full D-troit experience. There are scarier White Castles on 8 Mile, but this one was pretty bad. My cousins and me are pretty stupid, but not go to the worst White Castle possible after midnight stupid. I don't mean to say that this White Castle is bad bad. It's a true WC in its natural setting: Ghetto Royale. I'm writing all this as it happens so neither you, nor I, know if me and my cousins live or die. There's a million ways to die at White Castle. Me and my two thrill-seeking cousins wanted a death defying dining experience, so we stumbled in there at 2am with the crave. We ate like drunk kings. We all ate a lot, but cousin Jeremy ordered and ate 2 family packs to himself. So proud. We went to the counter for another round. That's when two grizzled old gangsta fiends waltzed in. I don't mean that they was in each other's arms doin a gentle waltz towards the counter. No. They were some mean old fellers and they looked like they had the crave for murder or murder burgers. They looked at us funny. They were black as panthers at midnight and we were white as bleached albino geese. My cousin, Glen, was the one who broke the ice. He decided it would be great to open with, "Hello. We're the Whites!" It's a shame Glen never went to prison. We coulda used a guy like that there. He could work wonders with race relations. The loopy one chimed, "The white Whites of White Castle! I will always remember this night". He walked right up to me and struck up an incoherent conversation; it had something about his one time employer, GM. It started getting somewhat intelligible for a minute, but then it turned to full-on crazy. Apparently the real-life Pokaroo (Bing it) was the foreman at the plant for a while, and it turns out he wasn't the worst they saw. The other one was the leader. He was pretty quiet at first. All he had for us was a gangsta glare that could crack cement, but when he loosened up, he was sharing photos of some of the hookers and strippers he's gotten to know from the area over the years. Some of them hookers was real mean lookin ladies. Like they could bite yer arms off with their lovely grills. After that we were like long lost brothers. The leader asked if we's knew any fishin' holes nearby. Glen told him about his secret spot in the abandoned Packard plant. Then the stranger told us about a spot on the River Rouge, upstream from the Ford plant where they put the chemicals into the F150s. And then Woodlawn Cemetery has a pond that is well stocked with weird looking trout. There's also a pond near the airport, that has "fish", he air quoted, but he said he'd never be hungry enough to eat anything he's caught out of there. "They had people feet". Me being just married, I got some good marital advice. "Don't never throw your wife out of a moving vehicle. "You get jail for that". I let him know I already knew that, at least with girlfriends, and figured it'd be the same for wives. In fact all sorts of female peoples: mothers, grandmothers, parol officettes... This is a review of a restaurant. I should probably say something about that. The bathroom had a retro distressed look about it. I was impressed. They got a nice patina finish on the toilet. Really makes you want to pull your pants down and sit without looking too careful. Was this a perfect restaurant for all occasions? No. Was it everything wonderful about White Castle? Yes. read more

Just because it's fast food doesn't mean it needs to be an unpleasant experience. I have been to my fair share of fast food restaurants and the experience was fine. This location was just not clean. There were no tables to sit at because all of them had salt and pop spills in them. It takes a few minutes to wipe down some tables. read more

As far as food goes it's white castle, same as any other. The problem with this one is the service. I came at a time that wasn't very busy (around 7pm, there were only a couple cars ahead of me in the drive-through) yet I still spend nearly more than minutes there stuck in that short line. About 15 of those minutes was at the order window waiting for someone to take my order, instead every five minutes or so someone would tell me to "please wait a minute." We were filming at Grand River and 7 Mile (I think, the shopping plaza with kids 4 less. Not my area) and had about 15 people on set. This meant we needed a good amount of food. Someone suggested White Castle, and while some of us groaned and loathed what our bodies were going to feel like tomorrow, we went with it. About 8-9pm, I show up at White Castle with one of my friends. 2 Crave Cases (one regular, one cheeseburgers), 4 sacks of fries and a few special orders later, we racked up a bill at White Castle that just made me chuckle. The staff here didn't complain, they were absolutely friendly and honestly, thats more than I can ask of them. Sometimes when we're in a pinch, we have to do this and I always appreciate the friendly service. The burgers were on par, if not a bit better than the last time I'd had them. I had a hankering for some WCs after polishing off a few beers at the Telegraph cruise Saturday. The burgers were what you expect from WC: steamed goodness. WC has that unique taste that can't be duplicated. Midnight drive throughs are usually pretty dicey, but this one delivered my burgers quickly and with a smile. So, let me start by saying that White Castle is a frickn staple in my house. My wife and I love it and still do. However, there was an incident about a week ago when I went to this particular White Castle and ordered some food as well as ask for a cup of water. The person taking my order asked me if I wanted a bottled water, I said no, I want a cup of water. I got to the window and he held up some little 3 oz sippy cup and said, "like this one?" And said, "No, a regular cup will be fine". So I got my food and my regular cup of coffee and pulled off. On top of it all, I looked at the receipt and saw that they STILL charged me for the bottled water! I went home and heated up the food to salvage what was left of the meal. The next day, I called and asked for a replacement for the garbage...I mean food that I got the night before and was told by management that if I would have brought the food back that night then she could replace it. and she could give me a double cheeseburger or my money back for the water. White Castle? More like What a Hassle! I went here for some burgers and a light salad. Boy were my expectations shattered. MY FAMILY enjoys burgers ok? I don't think that's a crime. But when I ordered these burgers they were like.. a third the size of a hamburger. Were they delicious? Yes. Did we eat all 24?
