Excellent Burger joint! I was drawn to this business based on all the excellent YELP reviews which were well deserved in my opinion and my new YELP quest to find the best Burger in Metro Detroit. For my first visit here I got their basic cheeseburger where I added Bacon and a second patty upgrading from a 1/4 pounder to a 1/2 Lb burger. My Burger was cooked to perfection and probably the juiciest burger I have had in this area (get extra napkins(: ). It was very tasty and clearly in the upper echelon of the burgers I have tried. At $10.50 which included the two upgrades of bacon and 2nd patty was a deal in my opinion especially when you consider the quality of the burger. Relative to staff and facility, the staff was very friendly and checked in on me twice during my meal to include the owner which is amazing when you consider this is a counter order operation. Facility itself is clean and large with a lot of tables, both indoor and outdoor dining. This restaurant has an open kitchen/grill that is visible to the dining area offering great sight lines into their operation which I actually enjoyed. Overall a top shelf unpretentious burger centric joint. If you are into well made tasty burgers and are in the area than this is a must visit that should not be missed! read more

We ordered from their food truck. The staff was nice and they had a unique selection which was awesome! We each had the rodeo burger and garlic fries. I felt the burger and fries were good but so salty I wasn't able to finish either. The flavor for the first bit of fries was great but after a bit I just couldn't take the salt anymore! I would like to go back and try their actual restaurant and a different burger, maybe a different selection would be a little less salty. Got to try out their veggie burger at an event for work. The offerings were smash, Rodeo, PB+B and the chipotle black bean burger. Their food truck is hauled by a Super Duty. The Chipotle Blackbean burger with Guernsey buttermilk ranch dressing and garlic fries. I ordered the chipotle black bean, added pickles, American cheese and grilled onions. The food truck line took over an hour to get to the front of the line and the order took about 25 minutes to come out. It was a long while for an average veggie burger. The lines for the truck was quite long, too long. Orders took about 25 minutes to complete. Not sure it was worth the wait for the food. The garlic fries were pretty good. A bit oily, was it garlic oil used? Still not bad. The veggie burger overall was so-so, not special. The veggie pattie was a bit overcooked and tasteless. The guernsey ranch is bland and doesn't add much flavor to the veggie burger much. read more

Really had a great meal at Rollings Stoves. The food was fresh. The burger was really juicy and cooked, and put together perfectly. The buns were terrific, soft and flavorful. Had the onion rings as well. They were crispy, well-battered, and fried to a golden brown. (onions could have been a tiny bit more tender - maybe a soak in buttermilk so that you can easily bite through them, but that's a TINY criticism!) They have one of those nice soda machines with a selection of all the different flavors. The staff was great. Friendly and efficient and the order was done quickly and was served hot! The place was nice and clean, with a nice decor. My only small complaint is that when you all start making more money, and with this food you will, buy more comfortable chairs. The $10 aluminum, hard-as-stone chairs and stools aren't comfortable. :) Great job!!! read more

I love Rolling Stoves! This is an awesome family run business that blossomed from a cool food truck to the brick and mortar spot in Farmington. These guys specialize in smash burgers, fries and shakes. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed, as usual. I ordered the PB&B burger, which has peanut butter, carmelized onions, bacon, cheese and the other usual toppings. Do not knock it until you try it. This burger is perfectly salty, sweet and crunchy. We got an order of their onion rings with Guernsey ranch (yummy). My wife got the smashed cheese burger. It is anything but your average fast food burger. Everything is fresh and satisfying. The staff here is always nice and service is fast. You can see the kitchen right in the open, so what you see is what you get. We will continue to support this awesome family business and enjoy these burgers. read more

I heard great things about Rolling Stoves, so the expectations were really high. The Peanut butter and bacon burger was a unique combo of flavors, similar to a burger I once had when visiting Minnesota. The caramelized onions were a nice touch and the burger patty had a nice crispy char. I'd love it if the meat patty were a little bigger and would probably pay the $2 to add a second patty next time. The onion rings were fire. I highly recommend them. They came with a creamy bbq sauce which was ok, but next time I would sub out that sauce for their normal ranch which is supposed to be made with Guernsey Farms Dairy buttermilk. Everything was well seasoned/salted. It was on the saltier side but tasted good. I'd compare the experience/quality as similar or slightly better than Five Guys. It wasn't expensive but it wasn't cheap, either. The interior of the resturant is small and has a casual vibe, great for a quick lunch. The person who took my order was polite and brought the order to my table when it was ready. Overall, Rolling Stoves is a solid choice when you are craving a smash burger. read more

We stopped by The Rolling Stoves after a visit to nearby Fishy Bizz as it came highly recommended, and we were excited to try it! We placed a to-go order and were told it would be ready in 10 minutes, but the wait ended up being over 45 minutes. Inside was crowded and a bit overwhelming. That said, the food was well worth the wait. We ordered a slider flight, Cajun fries, chicken tenders, and a shake. Every item hit the mark. My favorite was the Rodeo Burger, with a lovely onion ring adorning the patty. My partner loved the PB burger, noting the crispy pickle and smooth peanut butter being a heavenly duo. All of the sliders had perfectly crisp smash burger edges and bold flavor. The Cajun fries stood out with a zesty twist of lime. What a great burger joint!! The owners are college friends who came together to make an astonishing establishment. The burgers are cooked fresh, ingredients are top tier, also cut fresh. The best fries i've tasted hands down. They have a freestyle drink machine, with free refills. It's almost a pit stop because there is not much parking space outside. They share it with Dunkin' donuts. Inside seating is reasonable. Fit's about 30 people comfortably. The place was super busy, but no one overstays their welcome, so there will always be room to sit and eat your delicious burger. Definitely a must try if you're in the area. read more

The Rolling Stoves is what I guess they call a "fast casual" restaurant. You order at the counter, but they make everything fresh. They have some cool decor, like records that are cut out in the names of various groups, a rustic menu board, and the classic Detroit "D" on the wall. There is a counter that goes around the perimeter of the restaurant, and a few tables in the middle. As a short person, the tall counter & bar stools are a problem. I managed to get onto one in the corner, but as soon as a table opened up, I grabbed it. I ordered a rodeo burger "salad" which is really just a burger and its fixings put on shredded lettuce, garlic fries and a drink. I don't often order soft drinks, so I had a bit of fun trying to find some iced tea in the machine that has lots of offerings. The tea was good, and there were several iterations. My burger salad was pretty good. There was a LOT of broken up bacon on it. I didn't really like the barbecue sauce with it, though. I really wanted to like the fries, but they were WAY too garlicky for me, and I love garlic. Since I didn't finish the bacon bits or the fries, I mixed them together and I will mix them with additional fries to tone it down. I really appreciated that this is a family owned business. I believe one of the owners and their children were sitting at one of the other tables, and they were just laid back and friendly. I think if I go back, I will get something more traditional, but, in any case, I'm glad I visited. read more

Here in Michigan for a family wedding. My wife was craving a hamburger, so I looked on Yelp for restaurants that were close that were decently rated. We pulled up to this place and we were greeted by very friendly staff. Huge chalkboard with the menu handwritten and lots of interesting choices. There is definitely a Detroit vibe going on with the decorations. As for the food, I had the "Hamburglar" and it lived up to its name. It tasted exactly like a McDonald's hamburger....with better ingredients. I believe my wife had the "Rodeo" burger and she loved it. The Cajun fries I ordered were spicy and delicious. My wife ordered the salt and pepper fries. This is also a military/veteran, friendly restaurant. I was wearing my Navy coat and the gentleman asked me if I served and promptly provided a discount. I didn't ask for it. I make it a point to recognize and support restaurants like this whenever I can. They don't have to do this, obviously and I appreciate that.
