My top favorite pizza place. Like the vintage feel of the interior. Wish they had more dessert pizzas like Gambinos

Was staying over night to have brunch at the mercantile and wanted to try this place after reading…read morethe reviews. We were greeted right away by friendly staff and seated immediately. Our server could not have been more helpful and sweet. Elizabeth was awesome! My sister and I decided to split the lasagna and each of us had a chopped salad. The lasagna was fantastic! The only complaint I had is I wish they would have given us something to serve ourselves with after we cut it up, instead of trying to scoop it with a spoon, but that is minor. The lemonade was great! Ranch dressing on the salad was also good and you can tell it was homemade. I don't know where another person got the place was dirty? It is an old building with worn floors but everything was very clean. If you happen to stop here for the night and need a place to eat, you can't go wrong with this place.

We ordered a child's meal for my aunt, who is currently going through cancer treatment and has not been eating very much. Desiree approached us and told us, in a rude and dismissive manner, that the child's meals were only for children 10 and under. We explained our situation and why we were trying to order a smaller meal for her, but Desiree simply reiterated the restaurant's policy and told us we would have to order a regular menu item. When we asked Desiree for her name, her response was again rude and dismissive. Rather than showing any understanding of the situation, she reiterated the policy and told us that she was writing a note for her manager about the interaction. Given the way the situation was handled, this felt less like an effort to address our concerns and more like an attempt to document the situation from her perspective before we had an opportunity to speak with management ourselves. We understand that restaurants have policies, and we were not asking for the policy to be changed. However, there are ways to communicate a policy with compassion and tact, especially when a customer explains that they are dealing with a serious health situation. We were simply trying to find an appropriate amount of food for someone going through cancer treatment. Desiree's approach felt rude, insulting, and completely lacking in compassion. The food itself was excellent, and the other staff members were helpful, but this interaction significantly impacted our experience. A little kindness, understanding, and professionalism would have made a big difference.
