We ordered a child's meal for my aunt, who is currently going through cancer treatment and has not been eating very much. Desiree approached us and told us, in a rude and dismissive manner, that the child's meals were only for children 10 and under. We explained our situation and why we were trying to order a smaller meal for her, but Desiree simply reiterated the restaurant's policy and told us we would have to order a regular menu item. When we asked Desiree for her name, her response was again rude and dismissive. Rather than showing any understanding of the situation, she reiterated the policy and told us that she was writing a note for her manager about the interaction. Given the way the situation was handled, this felt less like an effort to address our concerns and more like an attempt to document the situation from her perspective before we had an opportunity to speak with management ourselves. We understand that restaurants have policies, and we were not asking for the policy to be changed. However, there are ways to communicate a policy with compassion and tact, especially when a customer explains that they are dealing with a serious health situation. We were simply trying to find an appropriate amount of food for someone going through cancer treatment. Desiree's approach felt rude, insulting, and completely lacking in compassion. The food itself was excellent, and the other staff members were helpful, but this interaction significantly impacted our experience. A little kindness, understanding, and professionalism would have made a big difference.

When our pizza was brought to our table, I made an offhand joke to the short latino young man that served us (I forget his name), saying something like he wasn't as pretty as the waitresses that work there. He immediately got visibly angry and called me weird in front of my sons, and told me my joke was inappropriate. A sensitive, entitled little snowflake, quick to melt, who can't take a joke. So I left a google review saying the pizza is good but the service was terrible. In all reality, the pizza is wildly overpriced, $30 for a large specialty pizza, and quite pedestrian- I've honestly had better frozen pizza- Screaming Sicilian is MUCH better than this place, and Digiorno is about on par. Apparently their social media handler replied to my review, saying that I had made inappropriate comments about children's bodies? And that ownership of the restaurant stood behind the waiter's meltdown. This level of vitriol... I urge you to never trust a bitefull of food from a kitchen that is so resentful and... vengeful. I can't imagine they turn out a wholesome, clean food product with angry little egos such as the one possessed by our server and their social media person that represent them. My sister liked the crust ok but loved her red sauce and her toppings. Soda was great and so was the iced tea.
