First time eating at BIG Bills NY Pizza and I knew it would be good the second we walked in the door. Full house with folks waiting for tables and the smell was incredible! Chatting with 30 year customers while we awaited our table and was served by a 29 year employee very soon after! Laura was so kind and respectful and all around exactly what youre looking for when dining out. She found out it our first time visiting and made time to chat, bring us samples and all with a big NY smile. - Even with how bust this place was, she showed zero signs of pressure. And if this wasn't already enough reason for my 5-stars, out came the pizza! NY Combo with extra cheese steaming and beautiful. I mean this thing was a piture perfect pie! The crust was thin and crispy through ever bite. Even with all those toppings (and it was a heavy pie) the slice held true and straight without any floppiness. - Big Bill knows crust!!! Been going here for over 30 years. I live in the neighborhood adjoining. Had some wonderful pizzas and some great times in a friendly neighborhood institution. Honestly, though, the pizza has becime so inconsistent that I won't go there anymore. Sometimes, though rarely, good. More often sparse toppings and just blah. Problem is you're at the mercy of whoever is throwing it together and they don't know what they're doing or are just plain cheap. Had a rigs and rags there last year and it was nearly inedible. So overcooked it was like mush. Sorry to say, this place ain't what it used to be. read more

We stopped by here in between games for our hockey tournament next door, and we are so glad we did! The calzones were crispy on the outside and filled with ricotta and mozzarella cheese and came with a full bowl of marinara sauce for dipping. My partner ordered the lasagna and said it was a little too salty, and it was cold and not cooked through the middle. They did take it and add it back to the oven to make it right. The pizza looked good, but it was a little greasy. My daughter also enjoyed her spaghetti. Overall, I think the calzones are five stars! The other dishes need a little work to be at that level. After many years of coming to Big Bills, during lunch and also dinner hours, the best time to dine is either lunch or early dinner hours. If you are coming in during prime dinner hours, expect to wait. Also the parking can be a problem due to several very popular restaurants nearby sharing the parking lot. Looks like they have a nee menu but price seems to be still very reasonable. I have dined at the similar pizza restaurants and Big Bill still serves quality food at very reasonable price. . My go-to choice is the canzone, heros and of course pizzas. Service is always good, drinks are priced very reasonably and they keep the restaurant very clean. read more

Still the best NY pizza at the cheapest prices I've found in Colorado. My daughter and I came in on a Saturday night and were greeted with a 30-45 minute wait. They flip tables fast, and people ahead of us were seated quickly. We were called and seated right at the 30-min mark. The only downer of the meal were the garlic knots. While they came out quick, they appeared to be undercooked. Dense, and a little raw tasting, and yet, not overly hot. Good flavor, however. Maybe we try something else next time or just skip the app altogether. Slices stand up to any I've had before at other places. I got one pepperoni and one sausage, while my daughter had one cheese and one pepperoni and sausage. Great flavor, great grease to cheese ratio, and great foldability. What more could you want? Service may have seemed a bit slower than usual, but we were still in and out in just over 30 mins after being seated, and they were busy, so the waitstaff was busting their butts throughout. They were as attentive as they could've been. I always look forward to coming here. $28 before tip. How could anything be wrong with that?!? read more

I'm looking at other reviews and thinking my meal today must have been atypical. The pizza looks better in other photos! Servers were welcoming and friendly, but the food was disappointing. We got sticks and stones (breadsticks and garlic knots), a chopped dinner salad, and slices of pizza. It was all okay, but not great. I didn't enjoy my veggie NY-style slice very much. The chopped salad would have been better with a higher concentration of the ingredients that aren't lettuce. I did think the garlic knots were pretty good. read more

Tried this place while visiting Denver, I'm a Pizza snob and have to say this is some of the best Pizza I have ever had. When you enter you will find lots of decorated nostalgia with a nice Mom and Pop feel. Excellent service from the minute you walk in, everyone working together to make sure you are taken care of. The Pizza dough is amazing, fresh flour, light and airy, nice crisp on the under carriage, nice and thin NY style with a good chewy crust, the sauce has a great flavor along with fresh mozzarella and tasty pepperoni. I usually Love Big Bill's Food, but last night I went to get a couple slices of Cheese Pizza to go. I didn't bother opening the box until I got to me car to eat. One of my slices looked like it had been sitting for a while and they just re-heated it It was not hot and I couldn't eat much of it. I was extremely disappointed. I had spent $8.50. Food was very good when we finally got it. Had to wait around 10 min to get a table but wasn't unpleasant. They have many young people taking your drink orders and picking up empty plates. My only complaint is that they had one person to take your order at your table. She also ran food and paid attention to all of the other tables with checks, etc. Needless to say, our order wasn't taken based on when we were seated. Only when she realized we hadn't ordered, she finally came over. Didn't take that long to get our food. Expect a bit of a wait if you order a pizza or two. I have been to Big Bills many times and love it every time. We usually get pizza, we have had the thin and thick crust. The party pizza is serious! We took it on a road trip and it lasted us days. We have also had the chicken parmigiana and other entrees. All so good. The service there is wonderful. A great atmosphere of a local shop. And a great value, everything is reasonably priced. They always have our order ready within a few minutes. Our food has always been hot and fresh, and they always get our order correct. The food is good - the pizza is far better than the pasta, skip the salad. The tables are cramped and small. We barely had room for our party of 6, which included two young children, all of us with elbows tight to our bodies and leaning over our food because there was no room to eat otherwise. The restaurant is also extremely loud and a little chaotic, so conversation, even with the person right next to you, is challenging. I'd say this spot is better for to-go than dine-in. read more

We were looking for a great local pizza place for Valentine's Day take out. We of course looked to Yelp to help us find a non chain restaurant. This place had dozens of great reviews so we'd thought we'd give them a call. A guy with a New York accent answered the phone...super promising... and quickly took our order. The restaurant was at a limited capacity I think cause there was a whole section without tables and chairs. And the whole place sure was busy. There was about 4 people ahead of me picking up orders too. Expected especially during the "holidays". If you tip, the head guy tells all the young pizza makers to thank you by name. It was really like a mom and pop feel even if the restaurant wasn't screaming mom and pop if that makes sense. Pizza was huge for the price. Cheaper than any large specialty pizza at less than $30 WITH TIP ADDED TOO. We got the combo which came with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and olives. Literally all of these as add ons would have been way more than this combo. The pizza was hot, cheesy, and smelled soooo good! I think because it was take out and the heat went through the box for about a 15 minute home drive, the pizza did get soggy. There were so many toppings it couldn't contain itself! While Blue Pan and Redeemer get all the attention and accolades in Denver, BB's is beloved in the burbs. This is a super comfortable place to eat with other families in a casual dining room, which is harder and harder to find with pizza places these days. The service is always friendly, and the thin crust pizza has good texture and flavor that our 2-year-old son loves. When people say this is better than NY pizza, they're wrong.
