Just had my first taste of Capitol Pizza and I have to say, I was impressed. The pizza was hot and fresh. I could smell the fresh baked crust while carrying the box to the car. Worst pizza I've ever had. The tomato sauce tasted like it was from a tin can. The entire thing was SALTY. The crust was soggy. The service I can hardly comment on because whoever the manager is, they left some poor teen by himself to do everything. Then there was a cockroach ... yes... We ordered take out on Sunday for the game and got a deluxe pizza. Asked that they hold the onion added extra cheese and it was perfect. Delivered quickly and tasted great. Don't love the sausage on the pizza so just would not recommend ordering sausage. Otherwise this maybe a little gem. read more

This review is only for carry out or delivered to our office by these guys. Their pizza is delicious and as good as it gets to NY style. Not too salty, well proportioned and you can see these guys paid aattention to details when making them. So far I have tried their cheese, pepperoni, combo and also bbq chicken gluten-free. The gluten-free pizza was left over that I have tried. This dough was amazing. I wouldn't mind driving to their location just to try more of this. I think its rice based with my limited knowledge but the dough is chewy like rice cake and the BBQ flavor was awesome. Stromboli looks very good too! read more

So I was at Wash House, doing enormous loads of giant comforters and blankets. I had brought a protein bar and a thermos of green tea. Capitol Pizza is right next door. To my surprise, they were not on Yelp. I walked in, to a clean, bright space, and found out from the nice man behind the counter that they've only been open for a month. They have a lunch special: two slices and a drink for $8. They do not have a drink fountain. There's a cooler with cans and bottles. There's a very limited number of tables. I waited maybe 10-15 minutes for fresh pizza, reading a local free newspaper. They don't have WiFi for customers. They do a lot of takeout. The pizza was NY style, and not bad at all. The sauce needed a little more zing. They do have Cholula, Parmesan, garlic, etc, on the counter. I'd like to try a whole pie some time. They have a 14" gluten-free option. Hopefully someone, somewhere will make a 20" gluten-free, but 14" is better than 10" IMO. At least for sharing. They have an interesting selection of pizzas and toppings. This is the same Capitol Pizza as the Thornton location. I hope that they do well. I'll definitely return, the next time I have to wash giant things or am in the neighborhood. read more

Ambiance: Don't set your expectations too high. It is a hole in the wall of a strip mall. We were hit up for handouts by several homeless people who were milling about outside on our way in. The seating area is very small, just two tables really. The doors remained open the whole time we were there (appeared like that is the norm), so flies were everywhere as well. Food: Ordered a large pizza, it took forever to come to us and was not fully cooked in the center when it arrived. It was also VERY greasy, the crust was too NY style (floppy) and the taste was below average to average. Service: There was only one person working (one of the two brothers who owns the place) and he was not attentive to us, not welcoming and seemed actually annoyed that we came in. Not impressed. It pains me to downgrade my previous review. My family has ordered from here many times since my original review. Our orders routinely include multiple items, not just a single pizza. We have always been satisfied with the quality. Alas, not today. 2 pizzas and wings. The Capitol Fav was a disappointment. The wings were meh, with minimal sauce. The Margarita pizza had a better crust than the Cap Fav, but they skimped on the basil and the sauce was sub-par. Every past order was made by the same gentleman that I presumed was the owner. He wasn't there today and I suspect that was the issue. The employee that was working today was pleasant enough, but when you're spending the better part of $100, the quality has to be there. Not sure when we'll revisit, but I hope the next time the taste/quality is back inline with our past experience. read more

We've had better pizza from leftover Dominos. Their dough looks and tasted massed produced. Wouldn't be surprised if they had empty ketchup bottles in the back from making their sauce. Food was amazing! The pizza was thin and crispy with a dark under carriage without being burnt. The sauce is to die for and is sooooo delicious! We ordered an extra crispy peperoni, sausage and onion pizza with extra sauce and YUMMM! We have been back multiple times now for this pizza. Also, do not skip the garlic knots. These are the best garlic knots in town. They are flavorful soft bouncy and bursting with butter and salty garlic flavor. read more

To provide the local Bemis Library with coupons for a free 8" pizza (with 1 topping!) for every child who finishes their summer reading log is truly generous and awesome. It takes a special business to do this, and I support that wholeheartedly. Thank you! We "cashed in" yesterday, and my kids were so excited. The man who served us was very friendly and kind. My kids each finished their entire pizza and raved about it! I'd already eaten lunch but I eyed their pizzas by the slice as well as their salads, which looked really good. Prices looked reasonable. We came in because my kids completed the reading program at the local library and earned pizza vouchers for one topping 8 inch pizzas. My kids both said it was delicious and it was a great size for lunch. The gentleman working was very polite and communicative about the wait times and made sure we had everything we wanted. I also got a Mediterranean salad and a serving of baklava which were very nice. I ordered 2, 20" pizzas for a family party & was very disappointed. The pizzas weren't bad, they were just "meh" -- the toppings & cheese were incredibly sparse -- the pepperoni was the size of nickels & there were probably only 20 or so on the whole pie. The only good things were the size of the pies ... but since they were so bland, almost everyone only had 1 slice, so now there's lots of leftover, 'blah" pizza. Being from Jersey we love pizza and I have to say this is really really good pizza. But I have to say we order last night and all the planets must have aligned. It was the best I ever ate it Colorado, holy cow everything from the crust to the toppings were out standing. The sausage they use is the best I ever had. Good job guys. First time at this quaint pizza place. Customer service is great. Person who served me was attentive and when I ordered pizza and salad lunch special, he told me it would take a few minutes. It wasn't a long wait. The pepperoni pizza slice and caesar salad portions were huge and delicious. I got salad to go because I was full from pizza. We had terrific pizzas from Capitol Pizza for several months. However, last week's pizza was overcooked and dry. This week's beef sandwich is dry with few onions or green peppers. I don't know what happened, but chances are we won't be going here again. read more

I gave this restaurant (Littleton location) a good review back in January but I feel obligated to update my experience. We have given it 3 tries with our orders and it just gets worse each time. The sausage sandwich was good before the owner left this past winter. In fact it was great. After new ownership the we ordered same thing. It was very average, next time it was edible if your starving. Last time: The sausage sandwich: greasy bread and half of the bread area had no sausage, just bread and bell pepper. Then the middle is a 2 inch tall sized large chunk of sausage. That may sound petty but I think everyone wants a little of everything in each bite. Also... the very center of the large chunk was pink. Pink sausage !!! Yuck. The very thick and roundish chunk was without form it just looked like a meteorite, or like someone grabbed a fistfull of frozen meat and flung it on the grill Then the final blow was this - my husband has had diarrhea since that night 3 days ago. And because he thinks he has to share everything with our sweet littledog; the dog also has diarrhea. (He got the Steak & Cheese sandwich). We tip large, even though we pick it up. But they will not see us again. Too bad for all involved. read more

We got a pizza from Capitol Pizza tonight for the first time. It looked and smelled terrific, but it was waaaay too salty. Pizza sauce doesn't need much salt because many of the toppings are quite salty. I think the one we got was their "Favorite", which has ham on it. Ham is already very salty. So are sausage and pepperoni. I'm not sure whether someone just got heavy-handed with the salt shaker on a one-time basis, or if this is a standard thing with them. We will probably give them one more chance to see if the salt overload was just a fluke. read more
