Brooklyn husband is still talking about it.
Shannon G.

Wow wow wow. Just moved from Reno and I was sad missing my favorite wood fired pizza. We found this place and OH MY GOSH!!! Husband got the Brooklyn pizza and is still talking about it three weeks later. Their ranch was fire too. They had a great IPA for him which is a must when eating out. I got the Tiramisu martini which was so tasty. The star for me was the Del Rey pizza. WHOAH. The truffle cream still has me on the hook, and the fresh arugula on top sent it over the edge and off to the moon. The place was really clean with a great aesthetic, you can see the wood fired ovens right when you walk in. Bathrooms were clean & staff was very nice. 15/10 recommend & will be back many times.

Marco's has some great pizza toppings and sauce but the crust is so disappointing for a place that specializes in coal fired pizza. We started with the "focaccia" which is just a baffling item. This is just some pizza crust with just some light seasoning on there. I didn't even take any pictures because it didn't look anything like a focaccia and the server just threw it on the table without saying anything. I thought it was just some extra crust they gave us to hold us over till the real focaccia came out. They give you no sauce with it and it isn't a focaccia. It is crisp, dry, and thin. This shouldn't even be served under this moniker. Could be improved with some EVOO on top or some sides of sauce. There are two different categories of pizza they serve here, New York and Napoletana. The differences here are just in the toppings, with toppings reflected in their names origin. There is no difference in the crust which are classically different from each other. The Mulberry Street had meatballs and ricotta which was fantastic. The meatballs are some of the best I've had on a pizza and it works so well with the ricotta. The Toscana is massively topped with arugula, prosciutto, pecorino, and tomatoes. I really liked the prosciutto pecorino combination with the added freshness of the arugula but there was just so much on there it felt like the ratio was a bit off as some bites would just be all prosciutto or all arugula. The sauce is very good. Tastes very fresh and sweet and complements the salty toppings. The crust is my main issue with the pizzas here. The crust is extremely thin in the middle and because of how thin it is, it cannot support the weight of all the toppings. I had to two hand every slice of a 12" pizza otherwise the toppings would fall off. The crust is not crispy, just so soft that it adds nothing good to the pizza. The crust cannot support the toppings they want to put on the pizza. The crust edge is fine as there is a good amount of char on the edges that you would expect from a coal fired pizza place. Servers took a while to get around to us and took some time to get our pizza but it was busy so nothing too bad. Absolute scum to put a 4% surcharge for the staff, just raise prices instead of adding on a fee to deliberately mislead customers on how much they will be paying. I think there are some great flavor and topping combinations served here that you can get some descent pizza. The crust being unequipped for the toppings makes it so much harder to recommend. The "focaccia" is the most insulting thing to be served at a restaurant and should be renamed with an added sauce or just removed off the menu.

An epic find!!! Service was spot on, cheerful, fast and responsive! Cool place with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside. Wings so yummy, but the pizza!!!! My wife got a GF pizza. Puffy crust, very tasty and baked in a dedicated separate brick oven. I had a regular pizza and absolutely destroyed it!! None left. Wish I was here longer because we would definitely gone back!! You have to try it!!!

This was my second visit here and the pizza just does not disappoint. I love a good coal fired pizza and theirs is just so good! We had the Margherita pizza and the Del Re. We had the Del Re the last time we came and it was so good we had to get it again. We also ordered a large Caesar salad which was pretty standard. The bread and Parmesan shavings were great. Service was great, but the pizza did take a bit to come out. We chose to sit outside on the patio because the weather was so beautiful. The patio was clean and plenty of umbrellas to block the sun. Not sure why Marco's has not been part of our rotation, but we will definitely be more mindful of it now lol They also have a BOGO deal on Tuesdays!

Call it a 3.5. Pizzas were good and came out fast but took longer to get a box and our check. We almost decided maybe it was free and we're about to leave.

It's not like this place needs another review but here goes. The pizza roll appetizer (things?) are amazing... MAYBE the best thing on the menu. The pizza itself is very good but ours might've been a little soggy because of how we ordered the toppings. The service was fast and friendly and refills were quick. The interior is pretty casual, but does deliver high-end food. The only issue with this place, like many others, is parking. We were lucky to get a spot right out front but if you're not there to get one of those basically five spots it's going to be a bit of trouble. We'll be back for sure!

I love the gluten free pizza here. Our server was a little shy but very nice. We sat on the patio with our little pup under the shade and they brought him a water bowl upon request. It was definitely date night as there were a lot of cute older couples. Happy Hour from 3-6. Tuesday is 1/2 price regular pizza.

I am still full from my dinner and already planning to come back - it was that good. The food was delicious - especially the roasted veggie salad and the vegan Rocket pizza. But honestly the friendly vibe sealed the deal - the manager came and chatted with us and our server was friendly and efficient. The vibe is cool and laid back - such a gem of a spot.

Marco's is still one of my top five favorite pizza places in Denver! It is consistently delicious made with really high-quality ingredients and the customer service has always been great. I appreciate that they usually have some new additions to their menu. I tend to go back to the old favorites, like the pistachio pizza which can't be beat if you enjoy pesto flavors along with sausage! My husband tried the Sicilia and it was tasty as well. We enjoyed sitting outside on their patio because the weather was so nice.

Random drop by after yoga on a Sunday. There is plenty of seating, TV for the games, and the service was fantastic! We had an cheese bread appetizer and the Toscana pie for a late lunch. The pie was delicious. Fresh toppings! Was watching them shave off some fresh prosciutto...can't get better than that. Overall, everything was great. Would definitely return to try another pie.

FABULOUS! We got here on a Thursday around 4:30. They do have a happy hour on drinks. We got the artichoke spinach dip and it was amazing. It was garlicky and cheesy and divine. We got the Bronx pizza and I was in heaven. The crust was perfect and it was absolutely delicious and fresh. Now one of my favorite pizza places. Our server was on top of everything. All around it was perfect!

We've had Marco's Coal Fired on our radar for a while, and finally decided to give it a try on Father's Day. Came in around 11:30 and they were not busy at all. We had heard that the pizza is the star of the show so decided to get three different pizza's to try & share. We went with the Brooklyn (sweet Italian sausage, pepp, red onions, basil, evoo), the Hell's Kitchen (spicy salami, hot coppa, basil evoo) and the Williamsburg special (pepp, basil pesto, basil & hot honey drizzle). Each of them we got extra crispy/well done crust. All of the pizzas were good...but the standout was the Williamsburg. The flavor of the basil pesto combined with the other ingredients made all the difference. So many layers of flavor. The other pizzas were good...but not OMG great. The Brooklyn would be better if we had left the mushrooms on as the menu intends...but the two of us that like mushrooms were outnumbered by the others :/ I think we will go back again to check out their lunch special or 1/2 off margherita pizzas on Tuesdays...but to be honest I think we enjoyed their pizzas at their sister restaurant Dough Counter a little bit more.

We went just before dinner and it was perfect timing. I love that you can see the pizza ovens from the seating area making for a great ambiance. The service was great and the pizza was tasty. Their pop machine had just run out of syrup so the drinks were a little off but it's ok. Next time I go I think I'd like to try just a classic pepperoni pizza.

It is not near my home, so I look for reasons to visit. My latest no-brainer excuse is to indulge in a nice meal prior to concerts from at Swallow Hill Music Center, located across the street from Colore. Last night was one of these nights. Quite the date night for me and my husband--a full meal at Colore and a Face Vocal Band concert at Swallow Hill! Colore has all the traditional American-Italian favorites, including lasagne and other creative pasta dishes (is the pasta homemade? I'm not sure, but it's yum!), chicken parm/picatta/marsala/saltimbocca, steak, fish, it is all very high quality and creative cooking. Pizza and calzones are also available. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Don't forget to glance at the cocktail menu, where they've tailored cocktails to include amaro, Campari, aperol, and limoncello to delicious result. Try the Italian Greyhound with Boulder Spirits gin and aperol, the Black Manhattan with Stranahan's whiskey and amaro, or the Italian margarita with Campari. And the wine list is reasonable, too, with a few high end Italian choices by the bottle, and many options by the glass to keep your budget down for the evening. And sangria? Yes, please! The desserts all have a nice Italian twist, as well. Cannoli, Tiramisu, gelato, and other indulgences. My FAVORITE THING? The garlic knots that come out with every meal, along with olive oil and balsamic for dipping. These are just heavenly, yeasty, soft, unforgettable. There is also always a special or two which we have found to be perhaps the most exciting and delicious on the menu. Last night, my husband ordered the salmon special. This piece of wonderful salmon was stuffed with lump blue crab and spinach, and had a white sauce with fennel and I forget what else, which was simply heaven. It was placed on a dollop of polenta. He ate every last bite. I opted for the vegetable lasagne, which didn't disappoint. A three-inch cube of lasagne, covered in their homemade marinara, with all the veggies--spinach, broccoli, artichoke, mushroom, zucchini. And of course, the requisite ricotta and mozzarella/parm layers. When we were sufficiently stuffed, we decided to share a dessert. Given the nice spring weather, we were drawn to the carrot cake with pineapple, walnuts, and berries, and a scoop of pistachio gelato. This carrot cake was a little two-layer individual round tower; they layer filled with pineapple sweetness and topped with a walnut cream. Strawberries and whip on the side made it feel healthy (lol). The pistachio gelato was the perfect accompaniment (we always need ice cream, right?), with little crunchy pistachios mixed in, as one would hope it would have. Our server was bubbly, very nice, and efficient. It was a great meal. I should also mention that they have takeout. How great would that be to have in your neighborhood? I noticed when I went online to make reservations, that Colore has just opened a Littleton location. I would like to submit a request--next location opening--Downtown Golden! That's my town, and I would love to have Colore take-out every week. And date night even more often. If no luck with getting a location in Golden, I will continue to keep my eye out for Face Vocal Band concerts at Swallow Hill, so that I have a great excuse to make my way down to South Broadway for a wonderful meal at Colore.

FOOD: Gallo has a complete menu of every Italian restaurant staple you can make, and its feel of authenticity is enhanced by the wide variety of pasta and baked goods in a shop up front (which you can add to your check to have for dessert). The garlic knots are mandatory to order; I would go there for just a meal of them. My wife subbed in gnocchi for pasta in a vodka sauce, both of which were quite good. I had a lasagna Bolognese which was tasty, but a bit heavy on the bechemel and a little too overall soft (lasagna shouldn't squish). We had a couple of desserts from the bakery, and they were decadently spectacular. Cocktails were also quite good. SERVICE: This place felt like, if you showed up twice, they'd welcome you into the family, ask about your kids, come over and visit, etc. This made things friendly (even with strangers), but made the service only good, not great. AMBIANCE: The place looks to have been redecorated recently, and is stylish and comfortable. Almost too stylish -- the "supper club" / "mia famiglia" image just didn't quite work with the high-end decor. TIP: The place is in downtown Englewood on Broadway -- but has a great public parking lot behind. NET-NET: a darned good place -- but not enough for the distance we'd usually need travel to it, compared to darned good Italian places we have closer to home. I would never turn down an invitation from friends to join them there, but it wouldn't be my first choice to go to.
