Nonna's Italian Bistro is one of those places that immediately feels inviting. Even though it's a large restaurant, the cozy décor, the friendly staff make it feel intimate and comfortable perfect for a family meal. We kicked things off with garlic knots and they were fantastic. Crispy on the outside, warm, fluffy, and drenched in garlic butter and topped with parmesan. For my entrée, I went with Nana's chicken parmesan. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked, topped with fresh mozzarella and served with a bright, flavorful house pomodoro. The linguini and seasonal vegetables made it a well-balanced and satisfying plate. My wife ordered the pappardelle bolognese and it was outstanding. The sauce was rich and hearty, made with sausage and Colorado ground chuck, paired perfectly with the wide pappardelle pasta. Finished with parmesan, it tasted like something straight out of a family kitchen. The kids had buttered pasta and surprisingly the portions were the same size as a regular entree. Finished with some vanilla gelato, Oreo ice cream and bread pudding. Amazing! Excellent food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. Nice Italian restaurant with very good food, ambiance and service! Our waitress Ashley was so nice and attentive. The ambiance is nice and cozy. We were able to make reservations thru open table and get seated right away in one of the booths. Menu had some very good options. We ordered the brussel sprouts for appetizers and it was nicely made with a light crisp and good flavor. I got the chicken picatta which was light and delicious but still filling. The pasta tasted home made. I also tried a little of my friends chicken Marsala and it was also good. Prices were very reasonable around $30 per plate. Que Bella! What an amazing meal at an amazing restaurant. From the entrance, it felt more like eating at grandma's than eating out. Small, quaint, family atmosphere. WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!! I planned my Mom's 70th birthday party here. There were 9 of us which meant that there was an auto grat of 20%. But because of that, the server, Michaela, practically ignored us and only attended to her other customers. When she finally greeted us to ask for our order, we still hadn't gotten menus. All we did have was preset water, which is a health code violation. The table next to us was seated later and had their food and to go boxes before we received our drinks. I was seated in view of the bar and saw our beverage order waiting to be delivered. Several staff members were idle. And the manager was attending to an older lady drinking at the end of the bar. When the drinks arrived after 20 minutes, snarky Michaela said "well it's not my fault that somebody called out!" Well, who's fault was it when all of the food came out cold? When the bill came, I contested the 20% automatic tip and snarky said "I'm not having this conversation!" She walks away and in comes the owner. It was the old lady drinking at the end of the bar! I calmly explained my experience and she basically called me a liar. All I wanted was to adjust the auto grat (which she didn't know that term) to 15% but she defended her rude staff and inefficient management after ruining a very special occasion. She was unapologetic and extremely combative. And most certainly unprofessional. And the food wasn't great either. It was bad and some people got sick. I wish we'd gone to Olive Garden. Went on a Sunday with 4 other people. Nice ambiance and my moscato peach drink was great but the food wasn't! Three people ordered the bolognese dish. A lot of noodles and very little sauce and wasn't that tasty. I have made Bolognese sauce before. It takes a long time, but it is very tasty and rich. This was not the case according to all three people. I had a chicken breast stuff with fontina cheese and a white sauce. I wasn't impressed and it was really too rich! I would've liked to order the lasagna, but it had spicy meatballs and a spicy sauce, which didn't work to me since I don't like spicy. Usually at an Italian restaurant you don't have to worry about spice. There was another dish that had peppers and onions and sausage that I considered but it was spicy also. We had been to the Nona's on Lesdale in Denver, which was very good, but not the case here. read more

First visit. Clearly has a following as it is in a strip mall, but elegant inside. I was uncomfortable with the live music (guitar) as it was hard to hear and talk, but the owner (?) kept instigating clapping for him after every song. It was just too much going on. But with that said, the food was good and our waiter was excellent. In the ever crowded Italian restaurants group, this is worth a try, but no need to run over there tonight. Nonna's Italian Bistro looked heavenly at the entrance. The staff was nice, pianist was great and singer was amazing. Sadly, service was slow, the music, although beautiful, was very loud. Everyone around us were having a great time, but yelling to chat with their family and friends. LOUD. We placed our order of favorite Italian entrees, and waited. Chicken Parmesan and Chicken piccata, good presentation, but the chicken on both plates was sadly overdone. Al dente' pasta was a a smidge undercooked. First time a traditional Italian restaurant didn't have bread on the table. This is my first negative review on an eatery, hopefully my last. Atmosphere is lovely. We came on a Saturday night and there was someone playing guitar and singing. Service was excellent. You could tell everyone worked as a team seamlessly. We ordered garlic cheese bread which was great but very skimpy portion. Lasagna and cacio e Pepe for our entrees. Lasagna was huge and delicious, really enjoyed their red sauce. My family came in today with reservations and unfortunately was not greeted or helped for almost 10 minutes. The restaurant was relatively empty and at least 3 servers were talking by the kitchen. Eventually we were given water and were told that our server was with a customer and would be with us soon. At that point we decided to go to another restaurant. Food was not good. We got Nonna's salad, the pasta al limone, Italian beef sandwich, and spaghetti with meatballs and sausage. Salad was okay, nothing special and some of the pieces of mixed green were wrinkly and too old. The pasta al limone tasted sort of strange, almost slightly rotten. I don't think it was but it didn't taste very good and it was off. The Italian beef sandwich was very disappointing, the meat and bread were dry and was not helped that much by the au jus. Meat portion was not great either. Spaghetti was subpar. It's a shame because the service was pretty good and the ambiance is nice. Who knows, maybe we just ordered the wrong things. read more

I went here for my and my daughters birthday. The food was not good and extremely overpriced for the quality and portions they provided. The waitress was increasingly rude throughout our dinner. I sent my food back because the salmon was dry and the only flavor that came through were the capers. When I tried to order something else, the waitress told me to wait and get ready for the picture. She spoke over me while I was trying to order for my daughter. The waitress told us she was doing us a favor charging us an automatic gratuity of 20%, although we were a party of 5. When I inquired about their policy, she said she did us a favor by not charging us gratuiry for 8 people (our original reservation). When I asked about their standard practice, she just snapped at me. She did do all of this with a smile, so poor service with a smile. read more

We have driven by Nonna's a hundred times and finally decided to give it a try. We were seated right away. The inside was upscale Italian bistro without looking cliche. There was live music by a piano player and it was enjoyable and not too loud so we were still able to converse. The drinks were amazing. The special "Cosmic Cosmo" was impressive when it arrived and was bubbling and had edible glitter. It was a fun drink. The moscato peach was very good too. We ordered stuffed mushrooms and garlic knots. Both were very tasty. The interior of the mushrooms were creamy so it was a different texture than expected for stuffed mushrooms but was good. The garlic knots were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the sauce was perfect blend of spices nothing too overpowering. The lasagna was delicious and cheesy. The chicken parmigiana was tender and the linguine cooked to perfection. We were stuffed so we brought some of the Italian wedding cookies and caramels home. Came here for a celebratory dinner and it wasnt as smooth or as tasty as we had hoped for. The inside is pretty spacious holding lots of guest-- decor was like a jazzed up Olive Garden. Our guests arrive a bit earlier than us and were sat already which was nice. We waited a little bit before the server came over as he seemed to be a bit flustered with the business of his other tables. We ordered some appetizers to share and a few different entrees. What a great find, who knew great Italian was in Centennial? The inside of this place is absolutely beautiful so classy and would be a great date nite. I felt a little bad coming in from moving not really dressed up and just wanted a great meal. Boy- did I get it! It was late for me at 630p so I didn't want like a heavy large meal and ravioli is usually not super large. I got the asparagus ravioli with lemon cream sauce and wowza. I wanted to lick the bowl. The Caesar was also great. The Lemon drop martini was strong. They had live music and wow he was amazing. My only semi miss is the mussels don't come with toast points and so you don't know that til you get them. We asked and apparently an up charge and we had to wait a few for them. Maybe add a more *toasted points extra so people know. Mussels were great. Took some tiramisu home and yum. Also my toddler liked the kid spaghetti a large bowl and oh so tasty. There is a Korean proverb that says its dark underneath the lantern. Why here? I have been searching for an Italian restaurant that serves cioppino. I didnt have much luck till coming back to my neighborhood. Return visit to this restaurant after so many years and found what I was searching for. Right under my nose. Restaurant is spacious, modern and clean. Lots of parking and also has beautifully lit patio for those warmer days. Got seated on this cute two seater next to the wall. Table looked very small and finding out that seat was custom made and not movable and makes one slide to one side. We were not big in any means but this arrangement was very tight and dining experience very uncomfortable. Will be back but will refuse to seat at this table. Got the water and bread quickly. My drink came out quickly too. Within few minutes of ordering and before even second sip ofy Italian margarita ( and those of you know me, I drink way to fast), food came out. Took about 10 minutes max at it. Other than that, cioppino was delicious and loved the way it was presented in a iron skillet type of dish that kept it very hot. It had perfect assortment of variety of seafood with linguine and tart, sweet, sour and little spicy flavor that I loved. Even had two large scallops, clams, muscles and king crab legs. They were very thoughtful of this dish with two small claw forks, crab cracker and dish to dispose all the shells. Very thoughtful. They are also serving wines in very sexy looking glasses. I had dinner here with a friend several months ago. We decided to dine here again last night. For weekend dining, reservations are strongly recommended. I also recommend requesting a booth. There are a nice row of horseshoe shaped booths that are cozy and better than the smaller (two seater) booths in the bar area. Their bar area is nice as well! This is a nice classy establishment that would be a good setting for date night, meeting family in town or for special celebrations. My friend and I were celebrating an early Christmas dinner celebration. We started off with an appetizer special that featured several melted cheeses, tomatoes and spices with small baked bread for scooping. It was only ten dollars! For main entree, I ordered the Ciopinno (seafood with spaghetti and served with a spicy red gravy) and my friend ordered their homemade lasagna. I tasted the homemade lasagna and it was fantastic! It was one of the very best lasagnas I've ever had in a restaurant. Great choice by my friend! The Ciopinno was okay. It was so much better when I had this dish on a recent trip out West. The bar was set very high after that meal out West. I probably wouldn't order the Ciopinno again at Nonna's but glad I had it last night. I love how it is served in a cast iron type skillet with a wooden board underneath. For dessert I ordered their bread pudding. It's served with a nice scoop of Vanilla Bean ice cream. My friend ordered their gelato flight (three scoops of gelato) in a good sized bowl. They're not small scoops of gelato. It's enough to share with another person. I sampled each of the gelato (dark chocolate, strawberry and mango). The mango was the best (surprisingly) followed by the strawberry. My bread pudding was average. It had a nice bourbon taste to it. However, the bread tasted dried out. I love the scoop of Vanilla Bean gelato served with it. Last but not least, our waitress (Mandi) was fantastic! We just experienced Nonna's for the first time this weekend and had a wonderful meal. The first impression when you walk into the dining room is that this is a really classy place with a pleasant atmosphere and vibe. Our waiter James greeted us upon arrival at the table, learned that it was our first time, and gave us a quick run down on the restaurant and some of the menu items he recommended. The menu is an excellent size and I like that they have plenty of choices without trying to make every possible Italian dish. It gives a lot of confidence that what they are doing is going to be quality. We started with some cocktails an order of their delicious garlic knots and the Nonna's Salad. We did not each want a large salad and James graciously offered to have the kitchen split it for us. This salad is great with marinated beets, candied walnuts, and feta cheese on a bed of lettuce that is gently dressed with their Italian dressing. For my entre, I had the Arrbbiata pasta which is penne pasta with mushrooms, onions, and their signature Italian sausage. Everything is tossed in a rosa sauce and it is delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and was served hot. James also brought us some of their house bread that I used to soak up all the sauce in my bowl. My wife had the Salsicciae Popetta Spaghetti which is your traditional spaghetti noodle with handmade meatballs and Italian sausage. She mentioned that it had just the right amount of sauce and that it was just what she wanted. We passed on dessert and will have to try it on another visit. We are very happy to have found this great Italian restaurant and if you want to have a great night out, be sure to go to Nonna's Italian Bistro. read more

Food was fantastic, service was a little questionable at first but once he warmed up he was top notch. Thinking he was busy and needed a moment to collect himself. Great with the wine recommendations and made our group of ladies feel comfortable and relaxed. This is a little in the pricey side, as I guess Italian tends to be. The service was fine. The ambiance was grand. The food was a disappointment and the cost for it was noteworthy too high and not any good. The portions were too small on top of that. Get dinner elsewhere. Going to a 1 now as I just realized they took 20% tip and we paid a tip on top of that. Very sneaky. I didn't pay the bill in case you are wondering why I didn't know that until after we paid. The drinks are more than a high end place in high visiting area downtown. That is horrible also.
