    Kids enjoying nuggets and fries!

Cute little restaurant with a lot of history. Big Al used to own the place. Now a friendly man named Arturo owns it. Very tasty burgers and it's rare that I feel like I had too many fries . Didn't get the chance to try the Mexican food which sounded like it was also good here. The kiddos enjoyed their chicken nuggets and fries.

Nice seating area with room for a crowd and delicious food.

Great location, parking and super comfortable seating with a good crew of construction workers finishing up lunch - always a good sign. The pastrami sandwich was quite good with plentiful meat but the rye bread could use a little beefing up. The onion rings were excellent. My son had the enchilada/taco combo and was thoroughly pleased !

Friendly owners is the plus. Fish and chips were no good. The fish was not tender it flakey. The tamale and enchilada is standard fare.

Since I only had time for about one meal in Ashland, and there are so many interesting sounding places, it was hard to pick one. I chose Ruby's because there is a diner by the same name that I love in Santa Barbara. Also, the menu looked decent on Yelp. The chipotle chicken sandwich featured marinated dark chicken meat topped with fresh tomatoes, red onions, and coleslaw. The flavor of the chicken and the coleslaw was so bomb, and complemented each other perfectly. The bread was kind of like a small French roll. Very soft, fresh, and tasty. It didn't come with any sides, but the price was reasonable, and just the sandwich was enough for me. The inside of the restaurant was very small and cozy. I had planned to go outside when my food came up, but I was so hungry, and it looked so good, I ended up devouring it right there. I barely even had time to snap a pic of half of my sandwich at the "Forever Alone" booth where I was sitting. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was quirky but cute. As a plus, this is a great area to just walk around and explore all the local stores and scenery for a few hours or so. Would def stop by here again if there weren't a million other great sounding places to explore within a quarter-mile radius.

If you're looking for a good battered fish n' chips, this is the place for it. I was pleasantly…read moresurprised by how delicious and well coated this was. They make each order freshly fried. The fish was moist and the batter crispy. Which, is very hard to find. I don't know if I was just hungry because of a mini walk through Emigrant Lake or the smell of the dish. Whatever it was I can't recommend this place more. They also have a nice selection of house-made hot sauces. They are each different but undeniably tasty. The only thing I warn anyone of when you are trying anything spicy is to take a small taste of it first. Carolina Reapers and habaneros are pretty intense chili peppers. I liked how balanced everything was and the drinks they serve there are also great pairings for anything you order. It's a small spot and can get busy but I wouldn't hesitate to come here any chance I can. PS. Burgers are also made to order and delicious too.

Where't the Beef? I…read morehave loved this place in the past, but now, I will not return. Their burgers are overpriced, small and served cold. Here's a photo of a burger I ordered yesterday and as you can see, there is no meat, but half a bun leftover, all for $12! Not to mention the rude customer service. If you go, think about tipping afterwards, in case you too get a mini, cold burger served by a grumpy bear.
