Really nice Big 5 store in a great location in Lincoln. Easy to find next to Red Robin and across the parking lot from Lowe's. Picking up a pair of Lugz hiking shoes on sale Monday evening I was served by a very professional and personable group of employees. The young lady at the check-out was very helpful and an early call to her to verify she had the shoes available went smoothly and quickly. She pulled the shoes from stock and had them waiting for me at the front counter. Perfect service. Beautiful modern store that is fully stocked in every department with numerous sale items. Plenty of parking available. I will definitely be returning to this location for future purchases. Big 5 has the best pricing and selection of men and women's outdoor recreation shoes and always have the size I need. No need to ever consider going anywhere else. It's really nice having a Big 5 in Lincoln--super convenient and the parking lot is large. The store is on the smaller side, but they still have a good variety. It's a great spot for quick, last-minute needs. One downside is the shoe section. Especially during sports season, it feels like they're always out of the sizes we need. Cleats are the hardest to find, which is a bummer because their prices are usually better than other stores. Customer service could be better too. Every time we go in, the employees are hanging out at the front chatting and don't really offer help. read more

I'm not the one to show up to a business right before they close either the restaurant or store, however, we needed a last-minute item for Baseball the following the day. Big five website show they are open until nine. When I arrived 12 minutes before 9 o'clock doors were locked. There are two workers standing near the register one came to the door and spoke through the crack in the door and said they were closed. When I stated that it shows they were open till 9 PM. He stated that they did not have enough workers to stay open till nine. It was clear that they did they didn't want to open up the register and wanted to go early. I came in here to do a return. The girl working had a major snobby stuck up attitude and I asked her is there a reason you're being so rude and she's like I'm not being rude look at her face said it all she was being a total snob and I told her you work retail in and she informed me she's a manager OK I told her you work retail you should work on your attitude and she's like you're not the first one to tell me that I'm like is that something you're proud of and she's like well I have to deal with customers like you. Are you kidding me really why would big5 wanna hire somebody that stuck up in rude especially the fact that she is working retail. Came in tonight to purchase a pair of shoes, 4 others were there also looking for shoes when I made it to the shoe section. All four employees stayed at the front counter the entire time. We all gave up after 20 minutes of the employees being too busy talking to one another so we all agreed to leave and but anywhere but here. I bought a new pair of court shoes on Friday and on Friday night saw an advertisement for the same shoes at $15 cheaper. The next morning , I went to the store to get a price adjustment and the manager said that since I did not have a hard copy receipt he could not give me a price adjustment. When I bought the shoes, I was asked if I wanted a receipt. I said no because businesses are trying to keep from printing paper receipts these days. Because I did that, I was taken for $15 that I should've gotten on a price adjustment. This is one of my favorite places to get my shoes. It's conveniently located off of Joyner in the same parking lot as red Robin very easy to find. They have a white selection of different items to choose from. They don't have shoes. They have everything for your sporting, they have very affordable prices Plus when you sign up at big five sportinggoods.com you get emails sent to your phone that you could use to get money off of your purchases and sometimes when you look at your receipt home Safeway the back of it they have keep on for big five sporting goods and also in your in the mail, they have coupons for them as well. This establishment is very friendly. Very helpful. They always try to help me find exactly what you were looking for. I always find what I need and more but they are very affordable with the white from they definitely has something for everybody here and they have all your camping Needs and much more and have tried them. I would recommend checking out sportinggoods.com choose a location you want to check out and go in and see what you need. This location is not even 10 minutes away from me. It is a great place to go and one of the only places in town that you could find nonslip shoes, they are very hard to come by because the place that carries nonslip shoes is Walmart. This is one of the places that they do carry the nonslip shoes so if you're going to be working in a restaurant, they do have those here available. I highly recommend sporting goods of Lincoln. This is a wonderful store. Great selection and variety. My only gripe is that they are always out of sizes in shoes. The limited stock is bothersome. The staff is helpful and friendly though which is why I keep going back to this store instead of making the 6 minute drive down the freeway to that "other" sporting goods store. read more

Customer service is terrible!!! Had to track down an associate to find soccer cleats for my son. Finally found someone and he pointed to the wall. Would of been helpful if he could of walked me over to where the cleats were but not at this store. Then I had to track another associate down to get the cleat size I needed. Pretty sure the guy took a break looking for them I almost left. When I went to check out I was not even acknowledged the cashier Kristen just continued her conversation about her boyfriend with another employee and then told me what the total was. I had several items she did not offer me a bag I ended up struggling to get all the items I purchased out of the store. Kristen just looked at me like I was an idiot. It would be nice if the store management would have trained their employees to use better customer service vocabulary. You know...like, "thank you." A recent purchase I made in this store found a young girl as a cashier who, although efficient at her work, had no idea that the words "thank you" was absolutely appropriate for my transaction. Well Big 5 isn't the coolest sporting goods place ever, but it will do. Especially in a small town like Lincoln. Since it has only been open a few months it is SUPER clean. Decent size too because I have seen smaller. I didn't really go in for anything specific but walked out with a pair shorts and D batteries. Winner! I went in there about two weeks ago to buy some energy chews for a hike and come time to actually hike I ate some. They tasted funny and kind of fell apart. I later looked at the exp date that is on the inside of the package and it was expired by 10 months! I went in to see what could be done even though I didn't have a receipt. I even stated the date of when they expired and mentioned that all the ones they had on the shelf would have the same expiration date and what do you know, they did. The manager said I don't low when you purchased them so I couldn't get a refund for the extras I brought in even though all they had in stock were expired the same day 10 months ago. They do not check their "food" and that's bad enough for me. read more

I just want to say thank you so much for the excellent service and a special thank you to John for going above and beyond to help me out. I purchased an air mattress on May 31st for a camping trip. It didn't hold air from the moment I took it out of the box (already on my camping trip). I brought it back to exchange it but I didn't have the right receipt. Dear Big 5, I really hope you get your act together before Dicks in Roseville opens on September 15th. Not sure if you guys don't know but the 3 immediate cities surrounding the store in Lincoln are in Fall Ball baseball season. Seeing as though you are the only sporting goods store around I would think you would be stocked for this sport. Nope. LLL passed out uniforms last night and games start next week (ours on Tuesday) and Big 5 had 4 pair of orange socks and ZERO YES ZERO pairs of black youth size large baseball pants. 3 pair of black youth baseball pants total....all size small and in 1 very awful style which is cheaply made and will not make it through the season. With the holiday Monday nothing can be ordered to be here Tuesday. I have since driven to the Roseville store where I did find 2 pair of the terrible quality pants in size youth Large but they were the only 2 pair of larges. I sat in the parking lot and called the Citrus Heights store, the Vacaville store and the Yuba City stores. Nobody has anything. How is this even possible Big 5? How do you not know what sports are going on in your area? I spoke with the manager asking him if he had any pants in the back and let him know that LLL handed out uniforms last night for baseball and asked if they would be stocking for that and he seemed to not know anything about the sport or if they would be getting any gear in. Very disappointed. Oh and this same exact situation happened last year as well. read more

I had a really bad experience today attempting to take advantage of a Cyber Monday sale. I received an Ad indicating that on Monday, 11/27/17, all regular prices were 25% off. The offer was for in-store and online. The ad had both an in-store code and an online code. The sales rep at the Lincoln store was not familiar with the ad and said the only items on sale were marked. The marked items represented a very small fraction of the inventory in the store. His first response when I showed him the ad was that it was online only. When I showed him that it clearly included shopping in-store, he then said the cash register wouldn't accept the discount code. The individual providing the info and two other workers nearby made no effort to make good on the advertised sale. I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm done with Big 5. I've been to this store maybe 5 times and this is the second time I had issues with the store being unable to transact the advertised sales price. On to Dicks Sporting Goods. read more

I recently came into big 5 looking for a raft that was on sale. I didn't see any so I asked for someone to help me. The cashier called the manager and let him know it said they had 1 in stock. He was super busy helping about 4 people at a time but he didn't forget about me. We couldn't find it on the sales floor, so he went into the back and a few moments later came out with the raft I wanted. He could have told me they didn't have it but instead he was so determined to find it for me. He was so helpful and his customer service as a manager is amazing.
