We don't get to come out here a lot, but I absolutely love this bass pro shop. They have the best Santa Claus in all of Ca-Sacramento Northern area. I beg you to disagree with me. The options of boats and everything that they have out is many many I could get lost in the store It could overstimulate you a little bit because there's just so much however, the aisles are so big and everything that it kind of makes up for it Everything is immaculate clean it's the first time I use the restroom. The restroom is huge. The staff is always very nice. They greet you when you come in they greet you when you leave. The only problem I have is that I don't have a $10,000 credit card for this place. Or maybe that's a good thing They have so many lures to choose from I could get lost looking at them, but love that for me for fishing. I love that they have a variety of fishing poles and they also have cookware there. If you did not know that if you need to go camping this is a great place to go value wise. I would say great prices great material clothes wise. I have sweatshirts that I've had for over 3+ years and they've never got ruined in the washer and dryer and I got these ones on sale for like five to $10. I've been waiting for that sale again. I think I miss it. However, I must say hands-down they have the best quality clothes. They have a lot of options of stuff. If you know somebody that's having a baby. You're going to a baby shower you could come here and find some cool stuff for them and get out and get to see stuff you want to see as well. read more

Bought my first firearm here in the beginning of the month, staff was super friendly I bought the display which had a small scratch on the slide. Due to this they made me a deal on it and I happily purchased! 10 days later picked it up and bought some ammo. The older gentleman helping me out was super friendly and attentive. This place is so impressive! They keep it nice and cool-- and the lighting is dim. They generally play country music and have lots of deer heads mounted up on the walls. It has fishing gear, kayaks, boats, guns, knives, bows, clothing (lots of it), snacks, electronics, etc. I was able to walk onto the boats and check them out. There's an aquarium located in the back of the store with a couple of sturgeons in it (along with crappies and bass). They keep the place clean and well-maintained. Nice outdoor sports shop in the Rocklin/Roseville area. Lots of selection to choose from for your outdoor activities from fishing, boating, summer and winter accessories and clothing. They have a big aquarium with lots of fish. The store is well organized and clean. Service was nice and value for your money is reasonable. read more

If possible I'd give negative 5 stars. I hadn't been there in quite a while but I was in the area and was excited about being able to stop by. I was greeted by a nice man at the front door. I was just browsing. I stopped by the gun section and asked what the current situation was with lurc ammunition. The person behind the counter was rude and condescending. He asked if I had guns. My first thought was to say, no I'm having surgery and need a bullet to bite on. I didn't say that. I immediately sensed that this person was confrontational. The conversation went sideways and he asked who I voted for in the previous presidential election. He then began to, 'counsel' me on politics and his support for trump. I was immediately taken aback. I truly felt that I was being talked down to as a woman and as someone who didn't buy into his unsubstantiated crap. I don't get riled easily but he really got to me on a visceral level. It's truly scary to think that we walk so closely to those who are still such huge sycophants of trump. I fe judged, harassed and threatened by his responses and demeanor. I report him to the manag. Believe it or not, this was my 1st time going in 2 this store. And I loved it!!! We had 2 go see the fish!!! The sound of the waterfall made it peaceful!!! My daughters found camping chairs for $10 so we purchased those. Some of the aisles just wow'd me cause I had no idea such things were made. I drove 45 minutes to the shop to get a crossbow restrung. I got there only to discover a sign that said no archery techs were on duty. All I wanted to do was drop the crossbow off and I didn't care how long it took to get restrung. I love this place. Found socks for my poor feet to get through the winter. Saw Santa! Hubs shopped for fire arms and I looked around and found items for target practice. Since it is the Christmas season they have cute decorations out. We saw their aquarium of bass and catfish and the beautiful dioramas around the store. The atmosphere was light and happy. Families and groups having a good time. Folks that work there are very friendly and so willing to help. We enjoyed our visit and will be back! read more

Do not buy glasses here if there's any chance you may need to return them. I purchased a pair of Oakleys for a trip, but they were delivered after I had already left. By the time I returned home, I no longer needed them. The glasses were brand new and never worn. When I brought them to the store to return, the employee inspected and cleaned them, then claimed they were "damaged" and refused the return. She said there were multiple scratches, even though the glasses had never been used and there was nothing visibly wrong with them. When I asked to speak with a manager or someone else, I was told no and that an exchange was the only option. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Never came on here to look at reviews but after a reading a few I can see the bad reviews are mostly around the gun counter sales and mine is the same. Maybe corporate should look into this. This is last time I will purchase a gun at this store. The salesman Erick (sp) is a misogynist. He just couldn't believe a women was buying a 1911. He got a manager named Alex I spoke with the manager who was kind. Asked him to review the tape and he was very nice coming back and being apologetic about Erick's behavior and talked about training may be needed but all in all I was pretty shocked at the hypocrisy for a women purchasing a gun they didn't think I should have. My teenage child was with me and I'm guessing they thought it was for him. Never an ask when my husband purchased a gun months early, also a handgun. And they allowed my son to hold that one with my husband handing it to him but told me my son could not touch it. I found out later this also not policy he made it up. Really gross behavior. Waited over an hour to buy something that should have been on the shelf, but the pog was apparently in transition. No one even greeted me or asked how I was doing. I stood directly in front of the gun counter multiple times while the folks helped others. I checked in because no one was attempting to help anyone outside of a couple folks that were DROS'ing firearms. They spent over an hour on one DROS and didn't even complete it. I checked your price match policy beforehand and it said you would match midway USA, so I checked their price and it was better. The "manager" claimed it was a "sale" price and he could only match it if I signed up for the credit card. Someone needs to train this "manager" on the difference between MSRP and a normal selling price. Midway listed this product the Ruger BX 10/22 Trigger at $74.99 regular price, your regular price is $94.99. MSRP is $96.95. Someone please look this up and train this person who you have given the responsibility of helping customers. I waited over an hour for this specific product, just to be told no, even though I was 100% correct and apparently know your own policies better than your leadership team. I will not be returning. I went ahead and ordered the Ruger BX 10/22 trigger from online for $67.95 shipped. As your stores struggle to make sales, don't wonder why, this is why. Timeshare salesman. There are actually timeshare salesman harassing you while you shop for hiking shoes. And it was one of those that give you a compliment, then tries to rope you in with some ridiculous travel deal. When you say no they keep going with further discounts. How desperate must Bass pro shops be to be giving space to timeshare salesman. Nothing cheapens the shopping experience more than a timeshare salesman. I (female) came in to this location this morning, shortly after opening to purchase a firearm. I knew exactly what I wanted. I had my FSC card, my property deed & a real ID. After waiting several minutes while multiple employees walked by me, someone finally asked if I needed something. I told the guy I wanted to make a purchase. He looked surprised and immediately seemed like he was assuming I wasn't going to have the proper paperwork. He asked for my required documents. I had all of them. He then said the "system" was down. I drove 30 mins to get to this store so I asked how long it would take to for the system to come back up. He said he didn't know but probably an hour or so. I had accounted for the time it would take to do all of the paperwork/wait in line, but I did not have time to wait around for an extra hour as I had to be somewhere this morning. I left and decided I'd come back in the afternoon. Around 1:30, I had time to go back before a dentist appointment in Lincoln. I went back to the firearms department where I stood around for quite a while before I was acknowledged once again. I can't help but feel like they just didn't want to sell to me because I am a woman who has tattoos and colored hair because they helped men who walked up after me quickly even though I had been waiting. Someone finally came over to help me. I gave him my real ID, house deed and FSC. He looked them over intently for a while and then he said he needed to go check something. He came back and told me that they could accept the property deed but that I had to get it notarized. I didn't really have time to do this, but once again, I drove almost 30 mins to come back to this store so I just wanted to get it done. There was a UPS down the road and they told me I could go there and come back. I flew over to UPS, paid $15 to get my deed notarized. At this point, I didn't think I was going to make it to my dentist appointment but went back to the counter to try and waited around AGAIN being ignored by multiple employees. A different employee came over and I showed him my ID, deed and the requested notary paperwork. He said everything looked great but that there was no possible way that I would have enough time to get to my appointment. At this point, I have invested so much time into this purchase that I just wanted to get it done. I called and cancelled my dentist appointment in order to make this purchase. I went back to the counter and the SAME GUY looked at my deed and said he could not accept it. I explained that another employee earlier told me they could, it just had to be notarized and that he himself literally just told me it would work, we just didn't have time to process everything SO I CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT. He said nope sorry, it has to be a "title" not a deed and said he can't do anything. I went to the front and talked to a manager because I was very frustrated and out $15. The employee at the front counter called over a manager from the firearms department. This employee was really nice and looked over the deed and said that they have taken them before and it should work. She walked me back to the firearms department, took my paperwork in the back and talked to someone. The whole time she was in the back, the guy who told me he couldn't take the deed was standing back there staring me down. The manager came back and said they in fact could not take it and I could not make a purchase. At this point, I had already decided not to spend my money here. I told the manager to give me a $15 gift card for the notary reimbursement (which they did). This process took FOREVER. I went to another store the same day and made a purchase with ZERO issues. I ended up spending over $1k at a competitor because of this horrible customer service. read more

I went there with my Father with the intention of putting some serious coin down for a new rifle. The rifle itself was a higher end model and Cabela's/BPS was the only place that I could find it. When you enter the place it is a visual treat. I will give them that. There is also a wide range of products they offer if you like anything outdoors oriented. The scale of the store is impressive with areas dedicated to specific outdoor activities. Well planned and thought out. The downside is the human factor. The customer service or lack thereof. We went to the hunting/gun counter area. I was looking at a specific target rifle and they had it in stock (win!). It was busy and there was a large poster with a QR code to enter a waiting line (smart, but concerning). I was number 45 (Very concerning). Shocked, I asked a gentleman standing next to me with his son beside him how long they've been waiting. They replied 45 minutes and was at number 17. I also asked if this is normal and they both replied yes. Total bummer. I look over at my father and knew this would not end well. I had him look up some breakfast spots while I looked at the counter and confirmed they had what I was looking for. While yes, it was there I figured that I would probably spend many hours there trying to not just get up to see a service person but also make my purchase. While I was willing to pay extra just to ensure what I was looking for was there and able to purchase (their prices tend to be higher than others) I didn't have the luxury of spending all day there to make my purchase. All in all, while a cool place it was very much a let down. read more

Came here with my brother to look for some fishing gear. The store was HUGE; they had such a great selection of items. I had fun just walking the aisles and looking at the intriguing stuff lmao It was such a cool experience. Even if you dont plan on buying anything i would say the store itself is worth visiting. There are a lot of cool animals hanging on the walls and at the very end of the store there is a life like waterfall with a giant fish tank with real fish! Such a great experience read more

Just wanted to be in and out. It was slow in the store. I was walking around looking for muck boots I intended to buy, and I did see an employee in the shoe section. By the time I found the boots, the employee was gone. I waited around for almost 15 minutes trying to find someone who could help me get the boots from the back. Waited around 30 minutes after talking to another employee asking if they could grab someone. This was an hour before closing, not really a reason for there to be absolutely no help/service considering they just had to get a pair of boots from the back. They had people on the registers, gun counter, and sunglasses area, and employees walking around asking if we wanted to apply for the credit card, but no one could help with a pair of shoes Ended up leaving. Note: manager was nice, definitely not their fault but appalled no one working in that store could not take 2 minutes to get me a pair of boots also considering I drove 40 minutes to come and get them. read more

Very bad customer service at the gun counter. I came in during their slow time. Sales rep (who I later found out was one of the supervisors) wouldn't even check if they had Glock magazines in stock. Told me it would be at least 40 min wait before he could hop on his computer and do a stock check on such insignificant item. 5 min later my husband came in to look at $2000 rifle scope and same guy attempted to help him right away. No 40 min wait time. He was very unhappy to find out we were together and tried to lie his way out why there was a wait time for me, but not for my husband. Very disappointing. We took our business elsewhere. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because I do like their candles. read more

Compared to other Bass Pro and Cabela's locations I've been to, this one is about average. Cashiers need some re-training and Bass Pro needs to throw their awful Point of Sale into the ocean. Most stores allow customers to put in their phone number for the club, not here. It's a convoluted process to look things up. Good luck if you're big and tall, not much of a selection there, at least in the times I've gone. These clowns are selling turkey box calls for $100+ and won't allow you to try them out in store. I was told that in order to try one, I would have to, "buy it, test it, and return it if I didn't like it." I could understand a diaphragm call since it goes in your mouth, but a wooden box call. Come on now. The packaging comes from the manufacturer in a manner that allows you to open and close it easily to allow for testing. I hit a couple kee kee's on that box, and called in Cletus from the gun counter real quick. He told me I could "contaminate the call". If you're scared go to church buddy. My bad for going to a big box outdoor store. Their selection was marginal at best. I'll be going to Turner's or Sportsman's from now on. read more

It was extremely upsetting that I came in looking for a new pole and the person that I had asked to help me was not interested in helping me at all. He was stationed in the bait and tackle section. "It's by the salmon and the black and gold" is what he told me. Not helpful at all. But he was happy to help other people. I had to walk further away from the poles to find someone else to help. Thankfully I found Clyde with the mullet and he was more than happy to help me! Even went to the back to find me a pole. Came in to buy ammo before my camping trip and the older white gentleman at the firearms counter got into a argument with me about me buying ammo for my wife when I told him I wasn't. I made it clear we are making two different transactions. Attitude was horrible and I watched him help a white gentleman before me and had a totally different attitude and a super smooth transaction. Mine took way longer and way more questions which I get but the white gentlemen before me was out in minutes. My personal dealings with this company is very horrible. I bought my first boat at the ass pro shop brand new back in May of 2020. And on the actual day of pickup...I'm excited about hitting the water but couldn't because the ass bro shop deliberately didn't charge my boat batteries. Yes dead batteries in my brand new boat for starters. So 5yrs later currently... parts in service for boats continued there shitty service and deliberately missed placed the parts to my trailer that I traveled 1.5 hours in traffic from Fairfield to find out that parts department said they will put my parts with customer service but didn't and couldn't find it for 30mins...you guys win with this type of blatant lack of service. This yelp goes to the Returns Dept. I think in the four years I have shopped at this store in Rocklin I have returned 2 items total. Both under $40 each time. This second time was NOT CASH, and I did have the receipt. I admit this return was a few days past the window, but again, NOT cash and I had a receipt. I would accept a store credit. The young gentleman at returns looked over the Accurite Digital outdoor thermometer with a fine tooth comb, which was fine as I tested the thermometer for a day and found it off by 4 degrees but mint condition with its box... hence my return. I said I was fine with a store credit before he asked. He didn't ask, and called the manager over (Beth?). While the two whispered just a few feet from me, he comes back and says they refuse to return the item at all... I asked for the manager, and I explained the situation all over again. I was made to feel like I was a thief trying to return stolen goods!!! Again I reminded her: Not cash, I have a receipt, and will take a store credit. FINALLY, I got a store credit. (Trans #105158 12:53 p.m). If customer service is going to be this bad, I have to take my business elsewhere. They leave me no choice. Does Bass Pro want to lose a customer over a $40 return? I spend hundreds each year, and endure their own people pushing credit cards and hard sells to purchase "trips". Which I got twice just on this visit! I told the girl pushing the credit card the horrible experience I just had with returns dept. She said "We have troubles with some of the Dept's, but not us in the CC promotions & Memberships".... I think Bass Pro needs to dig deep and try to get back to its former glory.
