EDC ..... What a cutting edge store! With so many varieties of knife's, safety stuff, survival items etc. You are sure to find something that will catch your eye. Have a few different areas/rooms that have different items. In one room you may or may not notice the kitty kat lounging around. Very nice and cool kitty. The knifes are not your basic ones at all. These are made with quality and perfection that are sold here. They do have a lot of Cool things that happen throughout the year from sales to demos to even a big summer party/sale/event. They sharpen blades (obviously ;), i bielve they can make keys, engravings and probably more. Just gotta ask them. Rob and Greg are very helpful and very knowledgeable. Came in for their knife sharpening service and the whole process was quick and easy. It only took a few days to be done. I initially called to inquire and the guy (I didn't get the name of the employee) was very accommodating. I believe he's the same guy that's always behind the counter. Took my Tom Brown Tracker here when I found out they can sharpen for ya. Long story short: YES, they will sharpen even some of the most annoying knives to sharpen ever. I guess it's not that bad, but that knife ain't exactly straightforward as most of your fixed blades...and he made it seem like it was, what with that expert cleanup and sharpening job he did on that bad boy. I have been chasing down a Chris Reeve Sebenza for sometime now and was hoping to find one there. While the store was out of stock, the owner let me check out his personal collection so that I could see for myself the difference between a small and large CRK Sebenza 21. Afterword I was shown all of the impressive Medford's in stock, and was given a brief description of each one after letting me get a feel for each in the hand. Living in the Sacramento area I was surprised to find a store that sold Medford Knives. I've never handled one in person and so I was curious about the stores inventory and had some questions. I called and spoke to Rob who went above and beyond in assisting me with my questions and even sent me some photos and a video of a few knives I was inquiring about. The wife and I stopped in here the following day and was met with even better customer service from Rob in person. He walked me through some of the intricacies of some of the different models and let me handle as many as I wanted. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're into EDC tools and knives. I reviewed EDC specialties a year ago and man have they transformed in this short time span. At that time I had ordered a benchmade 940-1 as they didn't really carry that much inventory on hand and you had to deal with the typical benchmade shipping timeframes. Rob and Greg have been nothing but awesome with every visit but now when you go in they have CRK, benchmade, ultratechs, etc (even the knife I had to order in the past is carried in store now). they do custom work, create their own sprints and I even ordered stops this time around. I travel a lot for work and do my best to visit similar or comparable shops and can honestly say they have the best overall selection, services and knowledge in Northern Ca! Greg sharpens on a wicked edge and has stones up to 3000 grit and polishing stones for those mirror edges. I've put his sharpening to the test in comparison to others I've sent my knives too (all 20CV as a control) and his edge geometry has the best retention of the bunch. Rob is the most personable owner even compared to others in different industries, he looks to teach with every visit not just sales as many others do.
