We ate at BICE this week for the first time. From my perspective, BICE is authentic Italian with some homemade pastas and nice wine selections. Salads were generous (friends shared the caprese and we shared the endive salad) and overall the food was very good. I had the veal ossobuco with risotto, my wife had the salmon scaloppini, our friends had the veal Milanese (traditional with no sauce) which was huge and the beef filled ravioli in mushroom cream sauce. All were very good. Being able to sit outside was a treat (for us northerners). The service was authentic and attentive without being overbearing. PS. The dipping spread for the bread was outstanding. Some combination of mascarpone and ricotta cheese, EVOO and balsamic. A great way to start and the rest did not disappoint. read more

Taking into account the holiday the food at Bice was beyond awful. The linguine vongole had almost no clams in it, the eggplant parmigiana was from some other day, stale and tough and the bread was substandard. My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice Italian restaurant with some homemade dishes. We decided to go to Bice even though we were not completely sure of the decision. The server we had was nice and attentive but the food did not satisfied our desires. My boyfriend had the raviolis with meet and veal and mushroom sauce which he gave a 3 out of 10 because it was dry and not good. I had the spaghetti with lobster which I rate a 5 out of 10. It was extremely hot and neither of the plates tasted like homemade. For appetizer we had the cheese burata with prosciutto which was good, but again, it didn't taste homemade. I hope the restaurant spends the $400 that our bill was for four people because it'll be the last money that they see from us. Thank God for waiter he was the only sunshine of the evening. We wanted to dine at another place in Naples and could not get in at our desired time. We chose Bice as our second choice and could not be more pleased. Drinks were yummy. The mojito was particularly good. We headed to the table and had the best service. The food was so good. The beef tortellini fantastic. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. Took my mother there for happy hour for her 98th birthday. They made her feel like a Queen. The guitar player played her favorite songs, they gave her a complimentary birthday dessert. My wife and I were there earlier in the week and had an great time, excellent drinks and service. Made a 5 pm reservation for 5 and when we arrived 20 minutes early we were told to go to the bar and they would call us at 5 even though there were many empty tables. When we asked for the manager Julia very cockily said "hello! (Threw her hands up )and said she was the manager " and wouldn't seat us until 5. Who treats customers like that when there are many, many restaurants to choose from! We went down the street to Virginia, walked right in and sat and were served immediately. Don't go to bice!!!! Love this restaurant! Happy hour is the BEST! 1/2 off the dinner menu! Outside seating is great, however inside the restaurant they need to rip up the old carpeting and put down some hardwood or tile! Makes the place look dated and dirty! Hence the 4 stars! We had an excellent meal from the early dining menu - essentially most of the regular menu at 50% off. Wine and some drinks at $5 each. I had linguini with clams, excellent. Salmon with truffle risotto was beyond perfection. We shared an endive salad appetizer that was large enough to share and was delicious. My dessert was fruit with zabaglione, amazing! When we arrived there was a guitarist playing in the bar, a nice addition that we hadn't expected. Service was impeccable. Our waiter Ferdinand was most attentive and informative about the dishes and preparation methods. There is lovely outside seating, a bar area and large dining area inside. Decor is subtle and elegant without being stuffy. Altogether a lovely evening that we look forward to repeating soon. Highly recommended! read more

I think it was great here. We got seated right away and the atmosphere was beautiful. My meal was great, I got the fettuccine with lobster and cherry tomatoe sauce. We just had dinner earlier this evening. Table we sat at first was very uncomfortable in front. Very warm with no air movement . We asked to be moved. It was a very nice dining room in the back. This was one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to in a long time. The bread and dipping sauces were great. Marscapone with olive oil and aged balsamic. Tappanade and spicy tomatoe..awsome. Try the tuna carpaccio...delicious...I had the veal chop with mushrooms, cooked to perfection. White clam sauce with homemade pasta was great. This place reminds me of home. New Jersey has some of the best Italian restaurants in the U.S. and this is as good or better...enjoy!!! read more

We have gone to Bice's many times and we always have really good food and service (one exception was Valentines Day 2013 but that is to be expected) The atmosphere if you sit out side on 5th avenue can't be beat. Gazpacho is great, sage butter ravioli is yummy. Waitstaff have always been great, too. You do pay for the location but... It's worth it in my opinion. read more

I have tried most restaurants up and down 5th while I have visited Naples but Bice is by far my favorite. It even has a nice atmosphere in 'off season'. Probably the best Italian restaurant in SW FL. Dusan was our waiter and was outstanding! He guided us to the right dishes. We ordered the coconut shrimp app and both had the seafood pasta ($28) as I love seafood in SWF. I should add that we were there at their 3-5 50% off ALL menu items so we asked if our pasta would be smaller portions. Dusan said all items are same as normal with same amount of seafood. They came quickly and was the BEST we ever had with a TON of great seafood. We were flying out the next morning so we could not take a box home. ONE would've been more than enough for both of us!! Four days prior we ate the same thing at Bruno's of Brooklyn in Fort Myers bc it was 5* by Yelp. Half the seafood and $35. Will definitely be back Happy hour or not bc it is really worth it! Our waiter was outstanding a little cold at first then very warm. The inside seating was comfortable on the banquet but quite loud inside. The bread was good but served with olive oil which I am allergic to so the whole meal was a challenge. My husband loved his ossabuca was excellent . My fillet was ok but not quite there. Could have used a basilic reduction sauce or something flavorful. Was very disappointed in the fried apple with my carpaccio which was though to cut and also the gnocchi Fried with my fillet. I don't usually eat fried foods and was frustrated by it. I did get a side of gnocchi which came with a heavy oil pesto but in hindsight should have just done it with shredded cheese. The sea bass was excellent per three at my table but one said too much oil again. Yes the chef makes those decisions, but if you don't use that much olive oil it becomes too much. The meringue cake was excellent and moist and I had a side of lemon sorbet which capped it off well. Overall I would go back if I had to, and I would request " limiting" the olive oil big time. read more

I have been at this restaurant more than twenty times. Food and service had been very good but my last two visits we experienced fair service and way over cooked food. My boyfriend and I went at 9:30 on a Friday night and the first thing that was said to us, by a man who must have been the manager, was "you need to hurry up and order we are closing the kitchen." We hadn't even been seated yet. We then had to ask for the late night menu that started at 9:30. The food was good but, not great. When the bill came we gave them a restaurant.com gift certificate which specified that we must spend $50 and had no other stipulations. They would not honor it because we ordered off the late night menu even though we spent more than $75. I was very disappointed in the brunch menu. I wanted my omelette made with egg whites. They would not do it . I have not been to a brunch where they would not do egg whites. The host was very rude. The patio is very nice but they stuck us in a corner with my chair in the isle. I would not go back there . There are plenty of restaurants where they treat you nicely. read more

Here's the deal. I'm giving a 5 star because they are tops in the immediate area. Lots of room for improvement, but short on the many forgotten details. Perhaps the owners are broke or desperate ... or the market won't support quality at its finest. Excellent food, happy hour, top budgie entertainers in the area, well dressed staff, good wine selection, (no stout beer), very clean. One big simple plus would be to have a house PA wth tiny speakers strategically placed where the walls hit the ceiling, around the bar and some outside. Not a huge expense but a payoff in the long run if you have good entertainers, which they do. But, people don't hear it. The staff is about what you'd expect, some better than others, but they are losing out on the simple, valuable, tweaking. Anyway, .. that's my story and I'm sticking to it!! read more

We ordered from early dining menu. Noticed that the price was lowered as was the choice of food. Salmon was dry, not much flavor. We used to be served a bread basket with different types of breads including some focaccia with 3 different dips. Now, it's just ciabatta bread with one dip. Also noticed that the waiter didn't give us fresh silverware after the salad entree - we had to use the same silverware. This is not very classy as far as we're concerned. Dessert choices were very boring, ice cream and sorbet. They used to serve panna cotta for the early dining. Disappointed in the change. Not sure if we want to go back. read more

I was excited to go to Bice since I was at their New York location (awhile ago) and Palm Beach location. I am an Italian paisano (friend). My reservation was for Saturday 3/19 and was greeted my the host with a laugh. I didn't know what he was laughing about and I asked him but was ignored. It made me uncomfortable and kind of ruined the whole experience I was looking forward to. I liked the food very much and the negroni cocktail was incredible. They need to look at how the patron is greeted because it wasn't good. read more

Where do I begin!!!! From start to finish we were treated as though we were lucky we were able to get a table. We had made reservations a month before. We checked in 45 minutes early. We were told we would have a patio table, that did not happen. Then we were placed in the back part of the room where there was a party going on of 30 people at one long table. They were extremely loud and boisterous. It's not that we don't like fun but we could not even hear ourselves talking. Our waiter was nice but also had an attitude. When I asked him a question as he was talking to one of my friends he put his hand up to tell me to be quiet. We were all shocked at that action. My girlfriend ordered a fish dish that came with spinach. She asked to have the spinach replaced with another type of vegetable. We assumed it was fine. 15 minutes later the waiter came back and told us that the chef would not substitute the spinach. She explained that she was allergic and would need to do something else. The waiter said your order is already been placed sorry you cannot change it. We all started to say something he said let me ask the chef, came back, and said fine will change your order. Once again they were doing us a big favor. I would not recommend this place ever. The only reason I gave it one star was because of its location. read more

I've been enjoying Bice for many years. The food is always excellent. Most recently our table had these entrees: tortellini, veal osso bucco and the salmon. All were outstanding! One unfortunate situation was with a couple sitting at the table next to ours. For 40 minutes, the gentleman was on his cell phone and the conversation not only was too loud but argumentative. Given the tones of their voices, we didn't say anything to them. The wait staff passed by several times and brought their check. I do suggest that management speak with staff to implement a way to handle situations like this. read more
