Being a Marwari I was super pumped to discover this place while visiting LA from SD. Who would have imagined you can find dal baat churma in LA ! However the bummer part was that we were very full and our bloated stomach couldn't try their main dishes. So we ordered the dal kachori and papri chat to try. The papri chat was just like how Papdi chat should be but the show stealer was the dal kachori. It tasted just like the dal kachori we make at marwari homes and the type you get in Rajasthan. We absolutely loved it. Service was prompt and friendly. The interiors of this place is very lively and vibrant. The space however is small and can get packed fast. The owner also came over and chatted with us. He told us he is from Jaipur so I guess that's where the authenticity of the food comes from. I am definitely coming back to try more of their traditional dishes and the Maharaja/ Maharani thali. Highly recommend. read more

I looooooooved visiting this place on Saturday, and I am making plans to go back again today. I got the maharaja thali and it was FILLING, versatile, delicious. I prepared all day to have enough space in my stomach to eat it, and it paid off. I ordered the Maharaja thali to try everything. I don't think I will order it again because it was soooo much food, but I will be going back and will order the dal bati & pyaaz kachori. I am drooling thinking about it. Deliiicious food. Excellent food. They serve authentic Rajasthani food and it's really awesome. Some if the desserts they have like Ghewar rabdi and Malpua are very rare to find in US, which makes them very unique. Con Job! Serving sizes are pitiful. Their excuse is that their bowls are small and can't fit more. Ordered the Maharaja Thali and they said it was filling. Instead it was a sample thali. Ordered pani puris and very little chutneys were served with it. Got a Pav Bhaji to go and the serving size of the bhaji was literally 3 teaspoons and it tasted like spicy paste! Wtf was the 18% gratuity for? For being served in paper plates? This was my new go to place in Artesia. Not going here anymore. On top of this, I totally see the quality going down. None of the rotis served in the thali were fresh. None of the curries in the thali were hot. read more

No concept of customer service. Was asked to wait outside for 2 minutes , 2 minutes turned to 30 minutes still no signs of telling us how long the wait would be. Very disappointed, had gone to this place with high hopes based on menu. Eventually ended up going to another restaurant in the vicinity. Hope I never have to go this place again. read more

Food quality was bad, our stomach got upset right after. We both are from Rajasthan and the taste wasn't good either, wasn't even authentic. Bad presentation as food was served in paper plates which was not expected from an ethnic fine diner. Oil was leaking from the paper plate. read more

The food was very authentic ,high quality and rich in taste ..one of the best rajasthani I ever had even in India..it was served warm and waiting time was 10-15 mins max ..We ordered maharaja thali ..it had good variety of items sweet and savory both ..the chutneys are too good ..Baati is too die for if you are a daal baati lover ..The portion size is more than enough for a good eater and the Thali is unlimited ..I saw the review of few saying that portion size was very less that's wrong unless you are 2-3 ppl trying to eat from one thali to save money :-) I would say as we expect a good service we should respect the business and be a fair customer as well ..would definitely visit it again .. read more

The food is out of the world! Authentic flavors that are impossible to find in the US. We had a very good time. We ordered 4 Maharaja Thali's, couple of appetizers (onion and dal kachori) and rabdi. We ended up taking a lot of food home as the quantity is so generous. Do your self a favor - go hungry and order the Thali! The only gripe (if at all) is the food is indeed rich in flavors which is a good thing; but kids may not enjoy as much. We ordered paneer nan and rabdi - which they enjoyed. Perhaps they can have a kids thali. Overall we LOVED it and will likely come back before we leave LA later this week. read more

Decent food, beautiful presentation. The waiters were very polite and helpful. Service was quick. It's a little congested. Note to the owner: do make time to stop and inquire at all tables. There wee only 5 tables occupied when we were there and you stopped at all(some, for a generous amount of time) but ours. A pity, since we genuinely liked the food and would have given rave reviews. Mismanaged at it height. - No one comes to take order after constant reminders -Food took more than 1.5 hr to get on the table, half of people in my party were done by then. - They Went out of their cutlery (the green plates which gives the feel of authenticity)... like seriously!!!!!! - waiter came to serve me and the owner snatched the food and said to give it to his friends first. Wow how polite - bati was uncooked, bajra roti was raw and makka roti was full of oil. Please dont make it if you dont know it - you have to keep reminding them to bring all the items listed in thali per menu and they keep forgetting it. - I understand they are new but instead of serving customers they have time to actually sit and chit chat with their friends while others are just waiting for food. So, I saw this restaurant first time while visiting the the other place close to this place and than I searched their menu and saw 'Rumali Roti' I guess this is the first time in USA someone is serving rumali roti however, the quantity is okayish like you need to order 2 Rumali Roti with one sabji/curry and appetizer to get your stomach full. Makke ki Roti was good but again you will need to order 2. Tried masala lachha paratha which was yummm. Pyaz ki kachori was ok felt like it was overly fried however dal ki kachori was too good! Coming to sabji/curry we loved malai kofta and kadahi paneer was sweet with lot of oil or butter. Overall we loved the place. The time we entered this place was around 7pm and after 7:30 pm there was huge waiting. Place has roughly 10-12 tables so plan your visit accordingly. This was a Birthday Lunch for me as I have not had a Thali lunch in many years. I ordered the largest Thali meal called the "Maharajah." I asked for very mild, explaining that I do not have a good reaction to Chili heat. I was told they can accommodate that, but that was not the case. The place was crowded, & the ambience was fine with very polite Waiters, but we were very surprised that this restaurant serves orders on paper plates! On the Thali plate were tiny little dollops (about a tablespoon in size) of 1). A very spicy Tomato Paste, 2). An extremely spicy Eggplant salad, 3). A spicy Brown Vegetable, 4). A slice of Lemon, 5). A small slice of Purple Onion, 6). A tiny dish of Melted Ghee/Butter, 7). A tiny dish of Yogurt with a Brown spice on top, 8). A Potato Samosa, 9). A scoop of a sweet Nutty mixture, 10). A sweet little ball, 11). Three little plates of dipping sauces, 12). A scoop of plain White Rice, 13). and Two deep fried balls of bread that tasted like deep-fried whole wheat Pillsbury dough. Alongside this were 2 Chapatis and another piece of bread. A tiny 6 Oz. bottle of water was given to each diner, and a glass of what I quietly told my husband tasted like a salted latrine yogurt drink." I was really disappointed with what seemed like an inability to make the dishes milder, & the tremendous amount of deep-fried starchy food. On a positive note, we separately ordered a Papdi Chaat Salad to share as well as a Hot "Badam" Milk that was spiced with Saffron, Cardamom, & mixed nuts, & these were delicious. The Thali plate though was a tremendous disappointment. I expected more tastes that were Vegetable type recipes yet were not deep-fried starchy things, & 2 deep fried dinner rolls, rice & a plate with three chapatis was excessively starchy. read more

Maharaja Thali was excellent! perfect blend of spices and variety. Sufficient for two people with medium appetite.

Overall, the food was delicious. We ordered Rumali Roti and when we brought up that some of them were very hard to chew and it was rectified promptly and served us a fresh batch. The restaurant seems to be male-run, also pricey. I would have preferred the yummy food to be served on regular dishes instead of paper plates and mini plastic water bottles. The suggested tip options were on the total price instead of before tax so it is higher than usual. Most restaurants have started doing this and it was awkward to have the waiter stand there while charging the card after food was served. read more

New concept showcasing Rajasthani cuisine...a very struggling business.Cant keep up with catering to a full house..miss managed.limited menu, yet items on menu aren't available when placing orders.Maharaja/ Maharani thalis have very small servings of sabjis and daal..orders taken are not deliverd inspite of frequent reminders..The owner visits table on request and joins his hands and apologizes for the unsatisfactory experience..reasons told ;shortage of staff..Over all not a good experience..hope they improve!! read more
