Was in town for business and stopped by this place for a quick lunch. It was packed but they are incredibly efficient and bring the food out quick. I ordered a Sonny's chicken sandwich and it was outstanding. Everything was incredibly fresh and there was a good amount of chicken breast in the sandwich. Loved the pretzel roll too. It came with a side of green chile and corn soup and that was excellent as well. Seriously, it was an enormous amount of food for $12. Will definitely try to find more locations throughout Arizona for when we visit future times. read more

Don't get the Hype at all. The Bread is too hard to enjoy the sandwich. Both myself and my girlfriend had the roof of our mouth destroyed with every bite. To me it was like an overpriced Panera bread. They had some cool stuff on the extremely busy menu, but it was a "hospital cafeteria" experience to me, and the windows in the outdoor area wereclosed on a 75 degree day. I went to this Beyond Bread location for the first time recently and was not disappointed. The building used to be a Blockbuster, so there is plenty of space, but now there is nice flooring. I got breakfast for the first time, and I have to say, the breakfast sandwich was amazing! I got "Santiago's Sonoran" which is ham, egg, provolone and green chile. The breakfast sandwich also comes with potato pancakes which are great. Plus, this is all for under 6 bucks! In short, Beyond Bread continues to deliver great food that would impress anyone from anywhere. read more

i can't believe i paid $7.25 for a turkey sandwich. i thought those prices were reserved for deli & bread on kauai. the location on ina road seemed really busy, even for 8:30 in the morning. i was surprised. they had a lot of pastries and breakfast things. i wasn't sure if i could order lunch until i got up to the counter. the guy behind the counter was really nice. he helped me select my sandwich... the bread, cheese and meat. i might go back if i'm in a pinch and forget to make my lunch...but for the price, i'd rather bring my own sandwich. read more

This is a great lunch place, they have cookies, and desserts that are amazing. Fresh bread served daily and great daily specials. I really enjoy this place whether for a quick bite or just to sit down with friends/family or special guests who come to town. The catering option this place offers is superb and reasonable prices. Great stop for lunch. We had sandwiches and Mac n cheese. Visiting Tucson from NYC and have to add that the bread competes with my local bakery - a very famous one that bakes for their own chain of top rated restaurants. The turkey was fresh pulled, not the typical food service stuff. The salads at the next tables looked good too. My only comment was that mine had too much mayo, but I didn't specify otherwise (and I should have). Will add this to our places to revisit on our annual trip out here read more

Always my favorite. This location is really nice. I usually opt for the Chad's Choice. It's no longer on the menu, but you can still order it. It's a hot sandwich with grilled chicken, green chiles, sprouts, provolone and mayo. Always get a dessert! Fruit tart, lemon bar, coffee cake in a mug, you literally can't go wrong read more

The variety of baked goodies is amazing! I've tried their sandwiches and they are good because the bread is freshly made... However, aside from the bread everything seems a bit bland. I also tried their tortilla soup...don't really recommend it. I would recommend this place for a latte and a pastry, that's all. read more

I live in Tucson and have been going to Beyond Bread for years. Usually I get good food. Today, I ordered 2 sandwiches to go. The Avi's Avadaco was as expected. The roast beef sandwich tasted dry and old. I would rather be told NOT to get the roast beef than walk out of there thinking I have a great sandwich, only to get home and find that is not the case. Unfortunately, the next time I think of getting sandwiches for lunch/dinner, I will remember this one and think of somewhere else to go. read more

I dont know why I just can't get on board with Beyond Bread. I know its a Tucson Favorite but everytime I go there, I feel overwhelmed by the crowd of people, the gigantic portion of food and the mostly unhelpful staff. Even when I get a half order I tend to feel a little queezy afterwards. This place does have excellent bread, and the concept of a bakery is super cool, but I think this place has just gotten too big for what it was meant to be. In the future, I think I will skip the sandwich and just order a loaf to take home and share with my friends. read more

Beyond Bread, Beyond Amazing! This place never disappoints. With amazing sandwiches (I love Fran's Fromage), pastries, and sides (go for the pasta salad), Beyond Bread is great for many different occasions. I have eaten in dozens of time, taken food to go, and even had it catered. My recent discovery is the breakfast menu, which is a must try! My boyfriend and I shared the french toast and the Bruschetta omelette with a side of red potatoes and their amazingly fresh bread. Don't waste another day without Beyond Bread! read more

Let me start with I really like the food at beyond bread. What I don't like is their customer service.. Came in today at 6pm. It was not busy, yet we were not greeted right away. Finally a young lady came in from outside (didn't wash her hands) and took our order. She was not friendly at all. In fact it was like she was annoyed with the fact that she had to take our simple order. Then after finishing with our order she stayed at the counter and cleaned her nails.... I hate to leave this type of review, but it is honest and I have been in several times with bad customer service trying to give them another chance. read more

I really enjoyed the chicken pesto sandwich I had here. I can't say much for the service, since I had take out. I do think the employees could be a bit more friendly. I have noticed in a few of the Beyond Bread locations, the employees don't seem too happy to be working at all. read more

I sure wish that my experiences with this new manifestation of the BB chain was as others have experienced, but it is not. First visit, for a sandwich, got me an overpriced bland roast beef on stale, tasteless bread. A second visit - more dry renderings from a dessert pound cake. I returned it and got an attitude from the employee. I exchanged the offensive cake for some scones. Whoever baked these has never actually tasted a real scone, blechh. There are some very good independent bakeries in the area - I'll go to them instead. read more

We had breakfast here this morning, and it was the worst breakfast I have ever had. I ordered an omelette and it was so overdone I could pick it up with my hand. The potatoes were dry and cold , and so was the toast. I think our breakfast had been setting for a while, because we had to go ask them where it was since everyone who came in after us had already received their meal. My husband ordered French toast, and it was cold and dry. The syrup saved his meal. I think Beyond Bread had better stick to lunch. We won't be going back. read more

I love Beyond Bread and have for the most part been a happy customer. This week however on two occasions I have been disappointed by Beyond Bread. Now, I don't know if this is just an issue with this specific location but twice this week I have ordered the soup of the day in a bread bowl and twice I was told they did not have either the bread bowl or the soup of the day. The first time I was very surprised to hear this. I mean, how can you not have the soup of the day right? Well I was so disappointed I left. Well, I came in today at 4 pm and guess what. Same situation. I asked the cashier when did they run out of the soup of the day and he told me hours ago because it's so popular. (So maybe 1 or 2). I think that is unacceptable. I don't know how an entire store aware of the popularity of the soup of the day can fail to plan accordingly and run out of it mid day! The store hours are opened well into the evening and the kitchen should have enough soup of the day to hold at least an hour before closing. I can't imagine I am the only disappointed customer on account of not everyone can pop in at noon to get the soup they want. I am so disappointed that I have even emailed the president and VP of Beyond Bread. read more

A must visit when you hit Tucson. Atmosphere is a little crazy, but the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Joel's Jolt is my favorite thing on the menu, but you really can't go wrong. We even buy the sourdough bread bowls to take home and use with homemade chili. read more

I go into Beyond Bread almost every Monday to meet with a friend of mine. It is a convenient place to meet, as it is close to my friend's(mentor's) house. We talk for an hour and he usually buys a drink and I don't usually buy anything, not because the food is not good, but because I am poor. I do sample their bread, for free, and the staff has never hassled me about not buying anything. Their bread is really good, as well their soups. I ordered the classic mac 'n cheese and was disappointed. The noodles were over cooked and the cheese was a bit too crunchy for my taste. My fiancé had the Reuben Sunday special and loved it. The Russian dressing was delicious. I also had a delicious Italian soda with vanilla flavoring. It was overpriced (at least for my meal) for mediocre food. Quality and quantity. Best salads, sandwiches and soups, as well as many varieties of sourdough and pastries. Fantastic breads baked daily. Panera just opened here and it's okay, but cannot compete regarding flavor, portion size and menu variety. The negative reviews here seem mostly about prices. Those people should stick to corporate fast food. Remember, complaining about price hurts the whole Tucson market in the long run. Locally owned restaurants contribute to the local economy. BB isn't free, but you get what you pay for. read more

Great selection of breads and sandwiches. Facility is clean and inviting with a Arizona patio room to enjoy the sun and still have a covered environment. Every sandwich is like an explosion of very good flavor with fresh ingredients and lunch meats. You seriously cannot go wrong with any of the menu items including the garden salads. I recently had an event catered here and the pretzels sandiwiches were enjoyed by everyone. I am only giving a 4 star instead of 5 because the catering event they forgot to give me the pasta sides I had also ordered when I came to pick up the food. I'm from the Midwest and sincerely miss Panera :( I was hoping that Beyond Bread could satisfy the emptiness in my heart due Panera's absence in Arizona. I must admit-- BB did not fulfill my heart's emptiness and in fact, mad my desire for Panera stronger. I had high hopes for BB since the website says that the owner is from my homeland (Wisconsin). The new BB on Ina Rd. is shiny, clean, and fresh. The staff is extremely upbeat and friendly. However, I wasn't blown away by the bread. I mean, I found both the bread samples and the bread with my meal to be a little dry and bland. I personally believe that the best deal on the menu is the soup and salad combo. It contains a cup of soup, a generous side salad, and two slices of your choice of bread. The bread did not come with butter, and as I mentioned earlier, I found it to be a little dry. Luckily I had enough beef barley soup to to use as a dip for the bread. Each day a new soup is offered. I've had the tomato basil and beef barley. The soups are quite thick and filling. Expect to spend about $9 on lunch or dinner here if you order a drink with a sandwich/salad/combo. Overall, the bread is average but the salads, homemade dressings, delectable desserts, general atmosphere, and hearty soups make this place a-ok. read more
